"What does she look like, Shada?"
Now Ruth was really curious about the person Shada had told her about. How could her belief that Shada would meet the person in her dream be proven? She looked at her interlocutor impatiently.
"He's tall and stout, and his muscles look strong." Shada answered Ruth's curiosity by trying hard to remember the events of last night which still felt like a dream.
"So? Can't you just answer everything at once?!" Ruth urged irritably, she really could die right now from curiosity.
"Husss... keep your voice down, Ruth!" However, Ruth's voice was getting more and more uncontrollable.
"Oops! Sorry, so please continue until the end. And don't stop!" Ruth ordered sternly. Shada looked at her in horror. Her eyes almost fell out of their sockets, Ruth was getting serious.
"He's so unreal, Ruth. He was so handsome, I was mesmerized by him. And he had pale white skin, just like yours." Shada explained while pointing at Ruth's arm that was being crossed, then continued. "His hair was pitch black. And her eyes, uh, now they look like yours!" Shada almost choked at the end of her own sentence. Ruth was equally shocked. Yes, that's right, Shada had just remembered that her best friend's eyes were often black and sometimes bright. Like bronze.
"Are you sure his eyes are like mine?" Ruth blinked her eyes quickly. Trying to convince herself of Shada's statement.
"Yes, hmm I'm not sure. Maybe they're similar. It's something like that," Shada denied quietly. She observed Ruth's red-brown bead. Meanwhile, Ruth was getting awkward being noticed like that.
"Shada, let's go to the cafeteria. I'm hungry." Ruth whined, followed by Shada's nod of agreement.
The two of them walked hand in hand to the cafeteria. After arriving, they looked at the menus for the day.
They lined up and named some foods to fill their trays. Shada accidentally saw Ruth whose gaze was fixed on a corner of the cafeteria. Her eyes then followed the direction that had caught Ruth's attention.
"Eh, that's the new noodle variant that just hit the market?" exclaimed a stunned Shada.
"Let's try it too!" Shada invited Ruth to taste the new noodles that were launched a few days ago by her company where she worked. Enthusiastically, Ruth followed Shada's lead, trailing behind her.
They chose a table and sat down at one of the stools.
"Oh yes, Shada. You know, in the next few months the company will be holding a recruitment drive." Ruth started talking while they were busy filling their stomachs.
"Really? In what division, Ruth?" responded Shada, who still had food in her mouth.
"In our division, Shada. Marketing and distribution," said a serious Ruth and continued, "Richard will lead the HR team in the recruitment."
"Richard? Are you serious? I hope he doesn't just pick pretty employees, but at least smart ones," Shada grumbled, swallowing the food she had been chewing.
"I hope so too. I hope it doesn't add to our burden." Ruth hissed as Shada's cell phone rang.
"Hello, Mom. What's wrong?" Shada rolled her eyes lazily.
"Yes, I'm having breakfast with my friend in the cafeteria."
"What?—yes, Mom."
Ruth gave a glance at Shada who was nodding. Then she turned back to her food.
"How's Daddy?" Shada raised her face for a moment. "Ah, you haven't communicated with him in a while? Why?"
"Of course I haven't contacted him! I was afraid of disturbing Daddy's busy life." Shada almost shouted, she realized she was in a public place, then looked down again.
"That's okay, Mom. I'll go back to work after this. Bye." Shada quickly cut off. She disconnected her phone unilaterally. She was annoyed, but her cell phone immediately rang again.
"What the—" Shada gasped, followed by a frown on her forehead. It wasn't her mom calling her again, but Max. His face lit up again. Ruth almost chuckled at Shada's quick change of mood.
"Hello, Max." she said enthusiastically.
"I'm in the cafeteria, why?"
"Of course I'm eating only with Ruth, who else?" Shada frowned at her fiancé's barrage of questions. Since when did he care when, where and with whom he ate.
"Is that all, Max? Don't you want to join us?"
"Well, good job," said Shada emphatically, but still managed to contain herself. She was very upset with her mom and Max right now. Her mood immediately slid into free fall uncontrollably.

Meanwhile, Max was immersed in his busy pile of documents. He had been flipping through several sheets of paper in a folder, unable to focus on reading or even studying them. He slammed the folder hard onto the desk in front of him. He then took an exasperated breath and threw it away roughly.
Since that day, every night he couldn't sleep thinking about how Shada could betray him. He had known the girl since he was 11 years old, when Shada first set foot in Toronto. Then they started dating in Grade 1 of high school, when they finally had the opportunity to attend the same school.
He was furious with Shada's attitude that she was covering it up. In fact, he knew that he really loved Shada. In his life all this time there was only Shada, no one else. That was the reason why he immediately ventured to propose to Shada two months ago. The days when the action of getting engaged to Shada had not received full support from his parents, although they were very supportive for him to be with Shada. This is because his father wants Max to focus on his company. It was inevitable that one day he would be appointed as the president of Holy Food, replacing his father's position. In addition, Shada's parents who are increasingly losing communication from them is also one of the reasons why Max is considered too hasty to get engaged to Shada.
It couldn't be like this, he had to act immediately to keep an eye on Shada. He wanted to know to what extent she had been playing with this relationship. She quickly picked up her cell phone. He typed in a name that he would call.
"Hello, I need you."
♡♡♡
The sky was getting darker. Shada couldn't wait for the darkness of the night. No, more precisely she couldn't wait for that figure to return. She immediately got out of bed, she walked along the cold floor of the room and deliberately opened the door that was directly connected to the minimalist balcony again.
After that, she busied herself glued to the monitor screen of her laptop. The wind blew against Shada's goosebumpy skin. It managed to sway the curtains in her room violently.
"Shada... "
This heavy, deep and masculine voice. Demian. Shada gasped and turned to the source of the voice.
"Are you waiting for me?" Demian's soft voice washed over Shada again. He was standing at the door.
Shada choked on her own voice, her throat dried up instantly. Demian took a firm step towards her who was still glued to her bed.
Meanwhile, Max swiftly turned the wheel of his car. This evening he planned to go to Shada's house. It had been a long time since he had seen inside Shada's house. And of course, he would look for evidence to corroborate his statement. Now he was only a few meters away from his girlfriend's house.
Demian was getting closer, now their faces were only 15 centimeters apart. Shada could even feel Demian's warm breath. She was even more mesmerized to see him from such a close distance.
Demian then pressed his lips to Shada's, looking deep into her beady eyes, wanting to see how she would react. However, Shada didn't move, because she wanted to.
Demian sucked on Shada's thin lips, savoring every bit of it. Meanwhile, Shada closed her eyes, feeling how her lust united with the lips of this unreal figure. She then reciprocated until she didn't hear the car roaring underneath her house.
Shada's cell phone rings loudly. Demian felt disturbed, and quickly grabbed the cell phone that happened to be nearby. He frowned as he saw Max's name on the screen. Annoyed, he accepted the call.
"Hello, Sweetheart. I'm in front of your home right now."
Shada gaped to see that her cell phone was already in Demian's hands. Although she didn't read it carefully, she was able to catch a glimpse of who had called her."Hello, Sweetheart. I'm in front of your home right now."Shada was stunned, then quickly grabbed her cell phone back, before Demian answered her call."He-hello, Max." Shada replied with a trembling voice. It couldn't be like this, she had to quickly hide the nervousness she was feeling. She must be able to."Honey, can you hear me? I'm already in front of your house. Can I come straight in? Or will you open the door for me?" Max's insistence further confused Shada. How is this? She thought quickly. While in here, in her room, there was still a man she didn't recognize.Even though it's not a human, Max, who is a normal man, must be very angry with Shada. To make matters worse, this should not derail their wedding plans. Now he was staring at Demian who was already bright red."Wait a minute, Max. I'm going out," was Shada
Max carried Shada in his arms. He then slowly landed Shada's body on the bed that was dominated by pastel colors. He gently caressed Shada's face. He looked at her beautiful face then pushed his lips against Shada's lips. They gently kissed each other, seemingly enjoying their moment together. Slowly, Max's hands explored Shada's body again. He explores the delicate body beneath her. Both of his hands went inside Shada's t-shirt, caressing the two bulging breasts. Meanwhile, Shada seems to enjoy every touch Max gives her. Max's hands are now under her bra, playing with Shada's bare skin. Max suddenly let go of her kiss, quickly removing the tight T-shirt she was wearing. He sees the tantalizing sight that pops out underneath a very attractive brown lace bra. He couldn't wait, he quickly unclasped the bra and released the beautiful sight inside. "So beautiful," Max marveled, still glued to his object. Shada looked up at Max, her cheeks red. Max hugs and licks Shada's lips again.
Ruth's eyes blinked in disbelief after hearing what Shada had just said. She stammered and looked confused. "What do you mean, Shada?" Ruth asked Shada for an explanation. Ruth's bright bronze eyes were getting darker and darker. "I mean, I realized that I've never heard about your family or your love story, Ruth," Shada said seriously. She observed how her friend reacted. Also her eyes. Realizing she was being observed by Shada, Ruth immediately lowered her face. She seemed to be controlling herself at the moment. A few seconds later, she faced Shada again. "Of course, I'll tell you, Shada. I'm sorry," Ruth said as she grabbed both of Shada's hands, and held them tightly in her fingers. Shada was stunned by Ruth's attitude. She kept staring deep into the woman's beady eyes that were now turning bright again. "I swear, I was planning to tell you everything when the time is right. For now, my life is still too sensitive to tell. Please, understand..." Ruth looked at Shada with a p
The man with bright bronze eyes carefully scrutinized the beautiful woman beside him. After he said who he was, he was afraid that Shada would immediately move away. He didn't want that to happen. The confession finally came freely out of Demian's mouth. He was both relieved and frantic, not really prepared for how the woman beside him would respond.Shada, on the other hand, just stood still. Her face paled. She was not too sure about what Demian had just revealed.Vampire? Does that mean he is a murderer? Her mind roared in question. Now Shada did not know what to do. After hearing the awaited answer, she was afraid that her reaction would offend Demian.Shada's legs trembled. Demian glanced at Shada's legs and laughed."Are you scared, Shada?" Demian asked as gently as possible so that the woman next to him wouldn't suddenly run away screaming."Have you ever killed a human being?" said Shada after managing to regather the pieces of courage that had previously collapsed."I did. Bu
Suddenly Shada's world spun. She didn't hear it wrong, did she? So, Max was in front of the house last night? Stupid why didn't she realize it?! Shada cursed to herself.Shada bit her lip. She didn't know what to answer. At this moment, she was getting nervous seeing Max who was already bright red. Shada opened her mouth to speak when a woman walked into the room."Good morning. Sorry, I'm a new employee here. Please help." The new employee greeted, causing Ruth to take a quick glance, then immediately look away and turn her gaze back to her desk. Unlike most people in the room, almost everyone was paying attention to her.The woman flashed a sweet smile. Her body was as tall as a model used to strutting on the red carpet. She had brown eyes and exotic skin. She had long peanut brown waves of hair. Now she was wearing a bodycon dress that was slightly open at the chest, clinging snugly and clearly showing off her curves. The dress was also cut short, showing off her long legs. Richard
Shada's tears continued to fall. Shada sobbed. Her shoulders were moving up and down."Why, Mom?" She asked in a voice that was still trembling. After that, all she did was cry and hold her lips with her hands, so that the sound of her crying would not come out.Her mother on the other side of the phone explained at length. But Shada didn't hear anything, this was too painful for her. All this time she had been living alone, her parents were busy working abroad. Shada thought that while they were abroad, they kept in touch and communicated well. In fact, they didn't care about each other, let alone Shada. They only pursued their own happiness."Don't talk to me anymore, Mom! I've had enough of living alone! I can live without you! Don't call me again!" She shouted in the middle of her crying.Shada disconnected the phone unilaterally. Her hand quickly turned off the phone. Before that, she had sent a text message to Ruth that she was going out for a while. She would contact Max later,
Max quickly grabbed his suit from the pole. He got out and headed for the parking lot. His car sped through the streets of Toronto. He drove with his throbbing forehead pressed, wondering where Shada was. Occasionally, he glanced at the sidewalks and curbs, hoping to catch her soon. At the end of his frustration, Max saw a glimpse of a woman who almost looked like Shada. He slowed down the car as he observed her. Short straight dark brown hair. She was wearing the formal blouse and skirt that Shada wore today. Next to her walked a tall man with pale white skin, jet black hair. Quickly, Max pulled the car over and braked it. The two people Max was observing turned their heads in unison but only briefly. Max realized that it was Shada. He immediately got out of the car, closed the door hard and approached them. "Shada!" Max shouted out to the woman. Shada turned around again, along with the man beside her. Shada widened her eyes. While the man next to her looked annoyed. "Max, why
They taste each other's lips. Demian's hand skillfully strokes Shada's white thighs, slowly moving into the thin towel. Shada's body ripples as Demian's hands play there. She moans softly in the middle of their kiss.Shada is starting to get out of breath. Then she unlinked her lips. She catches her breath and speaks."Demian, enough." Shada pleaded looking at Demian's face which was full of desire.Demian gazes deeply at Shada, his hands stop playing there but steadily start to crawl up, tracing Shada's innocent body under her towel.Shada savored every gentle touch of Demian's burly hands aimed at her. She stares at the handsome face in front of her now, much to her delight. At first, the firm hand gently rubbed Shada's flat stomach. Then it went up and brushed both of her breasts. Demian's hand cupped one breast and squeezed it gently, making Shada moan."You seem to be enjoying yourself, Shada." Demian chuckles, then goes back to licking Shada's pink lips. They reciprocated and de
The image of a handsome and dashing man flashed at the scene of the accident where two cars collided violently. Meanwhile, he also heard the loud sirens of police cars and ambulances blaring in his ears.He hated how noisy car sirens were. His bright bronze eyes were strained to observe the extent of the damage to Shada's car. He snorted, his breath caught. It was unfortunate why this had to happen to Shada. Especially since he couldn't meet the woman last night. His eyes then shifted to a man in a hat with severe injuries all over his body. Especially on his head. The man was closed and his hands drooped weakly as the health workers moved him into the ambulance. It was confirmed that the man died on the spot.Demian sighed heavily. Fortunately, he was not too late. The impact on Shada's head was already bleeding profusely. Luckily, the man's car had hit the back of Shada's car. If the badly wrecked part had been where Shada was driving, she would have been beyond help.As soon as the
"What do you mean?" Shada turned her body around and faced Ruth fully."What does Max have to do with Jennifer?" Shada's dark brown eyes blinked rapidly. Curiosity suddenly got the better of her.Ruth sighed again. Suddenly the woman lost her oxygen supply, as if she was being attacked by asthma. She then held both of Shada's shoulders firmly. "This is for your own good, Shada. But there's something inexplicable going on between the two of them. There's something you don't know."Shada looked skeptically at Ruth's very serious face. Even now, the woman's dark eyes were red and teary.Ruth is definitely not playing around. Shada thought. But Shada preferred to deny it. Max was not as bad as Ruth said. She had known Max for about six years. He was faithful and never had anything to do with any woman other than her. Except Morris, of course.Shada shook her head softly and folded her forehead. "You must be wrong, Ruth." Her gaze was incredulous.Ruth immediately snorted and moved in frus
"Tell me what you're working on in this document!" Leo said sharply to Shada who turned to stare at the man.Shada then strode closer, wanting to confirm what the man who was pointing at some parts of the document meant.Shada frowned, not understanding. The parts that Leo was pointing out had been carefully examined and read many times. Shada could guarantee that there were no mistakes in those parts. After all, Shada had made the same document not just once or twice."What do you mean, Mr. Leo?" asked Shada confused.Leo laughed sarcastically while rubbing his face in frustration. It seemed like he wasn't talking to an old employee, but an eight-year-old elementary school student. Meanwhile, Shada was already starting to get annoyed because Leo's attitude seemed to trivialize her."Let me check again." Shada half-snorted, about to take the paper back. But it was prevented by Leo's burly hand."That's not necessary! You should have checked it before it was even printed!" Leo snapped,
Ruth swallowed her saliva with difficulty, too tense to believe a fact she didn't want to believe. How could Max, who was so cold and loyal, be tempted by Jennifer? Besides, what did Shada lack?Shada is more naturally beautiful, good character, always positive. Anyway, Shada is better than Jennifer. Yes, although Ruth had to admit, there were some similarities between the two that she couldn't explain. Other than the color of their eyes of course.Ruth immediately froze and pressed her lips together during the meeting. Oh, why was she the only one who knew that. Ruth was so depressed about keeping such a big secret. Damn it!Ruth averted her eyes, unwilling to look at Max or Jennifer. She already had an ill-feel for the snake woman from the start. Now it was even more so. Ruth had even lost respect for Max. What an asshole! Ruth said to herself.Ruth occasionally stole glances at Shada who was listening to some reports solemnly and calmly. Ruth was devastated. It was a pity to see he
"No!" He groaned as he looked at Shada.Even though his eyes were fixed on Shada who was fast asleep. But more than that, Demian was looking at the future. His future and Shada's.Demian was sad and disappointed. He witnessed a fragment of Shada who was angry and getting away from him. She didn't want to see Demian anymore. Suddenly Demian's chest was tight. He took in as much ambient air as he could. Trying to calm down by filling his lungs with oxygen. What had he done to make Shada stay away from him? Demian tried to analyze.Demian looked back at Shada who was still asleep with a wide-eyed gaze. He was frustrated because he couldn't find any possible wrongdoing on his part."What should I do?" Demian whispered as he gently touched the door that reflected a faint shadow of his handsome face.Demian gave up. He understood that he could do nothing. The future is something mysterious and cannot be prevented. In the meantime, all Demian could do was avoid small mistakes that he might a
Instantly Demian bent his face. What did he just say? Paid in full? It couldn't. Demian's unacceptable words echoed throughout his mind. The reason is, because of Darwin his life has changed instantly. Maybe his old life wasn't as good as what he feels now. But deep inside, Demian did not want and did not accept a destiny that changed his life 180 degrees overnight. It would only put more distance between him and his first love. It could even be lost.Vampires could never be with humans. It was clearly written there. Coexistence might still be possible. The vampires in the human world always concealed their identity. Working and eating like ordinary humans. But to marry with humans and produce cute children? It felt like nature would reject even more firmly.Vampires and humans seemed to live in the same place, but in different dimensions. Like a coin with two different sides.Demian brushed the nape of his neck and moved awkwardly. “I make no promises. If I can, I'll bring it here.”
The sky darkens, signaling nightfall. The stars hang and scatter across the vast landscape of the night sky. Their beauty is like competing and coexisting with the moon.Tonight the moon above the balcony of Shada's house is perfectly round, very beautiful. But it still makes Shada sad. Ironic indeed.Shada had been waiting for Demian to come. But until now the man had not appeared in front of her. Shada stood on the balcony while moving uncomfortably. Her fingers tapped on the wall dividing her balcony, occasionally looking back. She looked at the clock on the wall, which was already eleven o'clock at night.“Tsk... where are you?” muttered Shada uneasily. She was repeatedly fooled by the sound of the night breeze caressing the trees in front of her. She thought it was Demian. It turned out to be a normal movement between the wind and the trees.More and more, Shada was disturbed. Demian hasn't come yet either. She had been waiting for him for more than an hour. Shada wanted to ask m
“What did you say, Ruth?” Shada frowned, not understanding. Although Ruth's voice was low, Shada could catch what her friend was talking about.Ruth choked up, not realizing the words from her mouth that had just slipped out.“Eh? No─it's nothing. I mean you shouldn't feel sorry for other people, Shada. Especially Jennifer. Like I said before, you have to be careful,” said Ruth rather confused. Hearing Ruth's explanation, Shada sighed heavily.“I know you don't like Jennifer and Richard. But, Ruth... Jennifer just had a disaster. Do you really have to tell me that?” Shada couldn't believe Ruth's hatred had blinded the woman's heart. Even her sense of caring had been dulled.“You have no idea what you're dealing with, Shada. Trust me.” Ruth snapped with emphasis.Shada screwed up her face. She was fed up with Ruth's cautionary attitude, as if everyone around Shada needed to be wary. But, wait a minute─“Wait a minute. Do you have any special abilities like Demian?” Shada asked suddenly
A twenty-year-old young woman in an elongated white coat was startled by the results of the object she had just examined. She was surprised enough to cover her mouth.Afterwards, she decided to immediately bring the results of her research to be reported to the head of the laboratory where she worked. The girl's black hair was in a neat ponytail. Her narrow eyes portrayed a clearly defined anxiety. Her steps were quick and firm towards one of the rooms in this predominantly white place. She walked through a long hallway until she arrived in front of a door. She knocked loudly a few times until a handsome middle-aged man opened the door.“What's wrong? Is something going on?” asked the man in front of her. The man could tell from the light-skinned girl's worried look.Even her voice was melodious. The man's light bronze-colored eyes were calm yet firm. The combination of his golden blonde hair and pale skin added absolute artistic value to a mature man in his forties.“Here, Mr. Darwin
