That man just lay on top of her for a long time, embracing her body tightly while resting his head on her right shoulder. Haylee stroked his hair gently as if trying to soothe his feelings.
"That woman just now was my biological mother," he said slowly after a while. Haylee just stayed quiet, trying to be a good listener.
"She came because she wanted me to invest in her new branch boutique. She's opening a new one in the city, so she wanted my money in it," Niel added.
"Aren't she shameless to come here tonight only to ask me that? She didn't even put effort to raise me before. Now she came back to leech on me."
Haylee could feel something warm wetting her shoulder where Niel rested his head. That man fell silent and she realized that he was crying. Niel took a long sniff and pulled up his head, gazing at her. She couldn't see his reddened eyes in that dimmed surrounding but she could see his expression clearly.
Haylee had never seen Niel cry
She rested her head on his back and said nothing. Niel was silent as well, didn't intend to say anything. They both just let the silence fill the air and strangely, just being like that for a while could ease their hearts. If soulmates did exist, maybe this was the time they both realized that they were soulmates towards each other.'You still love me, didn't you?' Niel murmured internally, having his pride stopping him from asking that question to Haylee literally. He believed in a quote that says action speaks louder than words. Haylee might talk harsh to him, but her action showed that she still cared for him. Similarly to him, he might never tell her how much he loved her, but he did take care of her needs and gave her everything he could afford."Please don't be like last night again..." Haylee sighed heavily after saying that."Okay. I won't..." he replied shortly and turned his body around to hug her properly. That afternoon after having lunch, Nie
"And what exactly will I get if I do that?" Haylee asked, demanding a reward that would benefit her."We'll do your notes for a week for every subject," Helen suggested and winked at Melly."Yeah, that's doable," Melly agreed.Haylee stared at her friends sharply as if giving them a silent warning to keep their words. The latter two just looked at her confidently and even gestured her encouragingly to do the show."Alright then. Keep your words, girls," she said and went down of the grandstand to the field. She swiftly approached Niel's team and took a clean small towel from a basket. Upon seeing her presence, the rest of the guys fell silent and suddenly made a way for her to Niel as if they knew why she was there.Niel was drinking water when he saw her coming to him. He closed the bottle again by tightening the cap on its opening and put the bottle down to the bench. His whole body was sweating and he knew Haylee wouldn't want to come closer to
When Niel was inside the shower space, Haylee took time going through all the gifts he received. She took all the letters that the girls gave him and read them one by one. All the words inside the letter were so cheesy and too flirty that she found them hilarious and made her heart cringe. She laughed alone a few times while reading the letters. Sometimes, she even made a disgusted expression on her face while reading them."They all must be crazy to write something like these. What? I kiss you a million times? Let's get a room and get down to business? I have so many talents in bed? I'll give you a night worth remembering? Gosh, is this a school or a brothel? Why were all these girls so shameless?" Haylee grumbled with incredulity filling her head.If only she was not used to those kinds of things, she would probably lash out at Niel. But, no. All these were normal things that happened to Niel every day, so she had come to learn how to bear with it.Niel came o
"What do you mean? What did he do this time?" Melly got curious instantly. She and Helen moved closer to Haylee.Haylee sat straight again and gazed up at the two of them. Then she beckoned them to lean their faces closer to her and the two did that without delay. Haylee told them the truth about what happened in the locker room before and both her friends got their eyes widened immediately."He did what?!" Helen was shocked, she almost shouted. The other students inside the class turned their heads to look at her instantly and she slowly covered her mouth and pretended as if nothing happened. The rest then ignored her again and stopped looking at her."Calm down, will you?" Melly rebuked her gently."Sorry... are you telling us the truth right now? Did he really do that to you at the locker room?" Helen said more, still couldn't believe what she just heard from Haylee before. Haylee just nodded weakly to confirm it."Haylee... I don't think there'
Niel called the chef without delay. "Make some arrangement for me tonight," He told the chef directly to the point. "Sure, what kind of arrangement do you want, Mr Anderson? And where is the venue?" Chef Kevin replied. "At my penthouse, on the top floor, inside the observatory. Make something sweet for a couple. Prepare a cake, a flower bouquet and should I buy some gifts..." Niel wondered to himself. Upon hearing that, Chef Kevin knew right away that the arrangement must be for Haylee. There were no other girls that Niel would bring to the penthouse apart from Haylee. She was the only one and still the only one even after months. It was clearly known by almost all Niel's employees inside the Anderson Grand Plaza building that Haylee had been living with him for over nine months now. At some point, they had all assumed that Haylee was Mrs Anderson as if she was Niel's official life partner. "Is it a proposal, Mr Anderson?" Chef Kevin bravely asked, pretending as if he needed more
Haylee hand unconsciously touched the diamond necklace around her neck when Niel said that. She looked down at the diamond pendant that sparkling beautifully on her upper chest."Why? You don't like the necklace too?" Niel asked with a steely tone."No. Of course, I like it," Haylee answered him carefully, feeling afraid of awakening the beast that was sleeping silently inside of him. After dinner, Niel made her sit on the bed and he went to the grand piano, serenading her with some melodious music. It should have been a romantic night, but something really didn't feel right in her heart. Haylee just stared at him emptily. A while later, he stopped playing the piano and joined her on the bed."We need to stop doing this," Haylee murmured slowly."Why?" Niel knitted his brows in confusion. He made her head lay on his chest while his back leaned on the pillow. Then he dimmed the light inside the observatory so they could stargaze through the glass ro
The smile on her face felt like a pang inside his heart. He thought he would feel better if he saw her happy. Instead, it made him feel even bitter because she rarely smiled or laughed when she was with him these past few days. He turned his head forward again and sighed. His mind wondered what kind of things he should do to make her laugh or smile when she was with him.Haylee thought that the girls at the back door would leave after getting the drawing of Niel's pen*s, but instead, another girl came in and acted the same way as the previous one. Yet this time, she asked different questions."How long is Niel's thing? Was it erected when he showed it to you? Was it pointed, curled to the side or just straight like a log?" The questions were even nastier than the previous one.Haylee twitched her lips in disgust when she heard them. Even Melly and Helen acted the same. What amazed them was the fact that the girl who asked those questions seemed unbothered and ju
"I don't know... Just look at them. They were like a married couple. It's really weird that they still aren't dating till now," Melly replied with her eyes fixed on the couple who was still not over with their argument."Haylee! Haylee! Calm down! Stop resisting. Just stop moving for a while. Listen to me!" Niel was struggling to get her attention."It's all your fault! It's your fault! It's your f*cking fault!" Haylee shouted at him. She looked truly inorganized with her hair messed up and covering half her face."Okay. It's my fault. But calm down for a while. Look... everyone is looking at us. Cut it out. If you want to vent out, then vent out at home. Don't do it here in public," Niel said while pointing his hand everywhere, making Haylee realize how many people were there being spectators around them. He hoped she gained her conscience again.Haylee stood there motionlessly and had herself burst out in tears. She really lost it that day. She didn't m
