That man just lay on top of her for a long time, embracing her body tightly while resting his head on her right shoulder. Haylee stroked his hair gently as if trying to soothe his feelings.
"That woman just now was my biological mother," he said slowly after a while. Haylee just stayed quiet, trying to be a good listener.
"She came because she wanted me to invest in her new branch boutique. She's opening a new one in the city, so she wanted my money in it," Niel added.
"Aren't she shameless to come here tonight only to ask me that? She didn't even put effort to raise me before. Now she came back to leech on me."
Haylee could feel something warm wetting her shoulder where Niel rested his head. That man fell silent and she realized that he was crying. Niel took a long sniff and pulled up his head, gazing at her. She couldn't see his reddened eyes in that dimmed surrounding but she could see his expression clearly.
