April's POV

I stood in my kitchen, staring blankly at the morning sunlight streaming through the window. Yesterday's revelation at Emma's party still weighed heavily on my mind.

Camilla's words echoed in my thoughts: 'I know what you're hiding, April. I caught you red handed' My secret was out, and I felt exposed.

I mechanically prepared breakfast, my hands moving on autopilot. The silence at home was oppressive, a constant reminder of my failure.

My mind wandered to Camilla's accusation. Why did she find out? And what would happen next?

I couldn't shake off the feeling of shame and guilt. My addiction had finally caught up with me, and now I risked losing the people I loved.

In the mirror, I saw a reflection of a person I no longer recognized. A person struggling to keep her head above water.
