Lucien's POV

I approached Rosaline in the quiet hallway, my heart racing with anticipation. I knew I had to fix this.

"Rosaline, can we talk?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

She turned, her expression guarded. "What is there to talk about?"

I took a deep breath, preparing myself for the lies I was about to tell.

"About Krisdana. I know you're upset." I said

Rosaline's eyes narrowed, and I could see the hurt and anger simmering beneath.

"Upset? You think that's even close to what I'm feeling?"

I held up my hands, trying to appear innocent.

"Just hear me out. There's nothing going on between us."

The words felt like acid on my tongue. Lies. All lies.

But I had to keep up the charade.

For now.

Rosaline raised an eyebrow, her skepticism clear.

"Save it, Lucien."

I stepped closer, trying to convey sincerity.

"Roz, I swear. I just feel like Krisdana's going through a tough time, and I don't want to see her get hurt." I said while Rosaline just scoffed.
