CHAPTER 109

April's POV

I arrived at the designated studio, eager for my private art session with Max. The door was slightly ajar, and I pushed it open, expecting to see Max setting up. Instead, I froze. Max stood with his back to me, his lips locked on a woman's. My heart plummeted.

The woman's laughter echoed through the room as Max pulled back, smiling. "Hey, babe," he said, his voice dripping with affection. My mind reeled as I processed the scene. Max, the charming art instructor, had a girlfriend. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut.

The woman turned, noticing me standing there. Her eyes narrowed. "Can we help you?" she asked, her tone icy. Max spun around, his expression mortified. "April, I...I didn't expect you so soon." I forced a weak smile. "Sorry to interrupt. I didn't know you were...occupied."
