Chapter Twenty-Six: I Wanted To See You

Marissa's POV

“What is the matter? What is funny?” I curiously asked. "You're laughing..."

“Nothing,” he answered and avoided his gaze, now licking his lower lip. “I don’t know, but it feels weird to be called by you with my first name.”

“I know,” I said in dismay. “That is why I should continue calling you formally-“

“No! No! I didn't mean it that way. I like you saying my name!” he defended in a desperate tone.

“Huh?” I mumbled and my cheeks flushed red. “Uhhh… is that so?” I had to lower my head. “O-Okay… Diego.”

I heard him inhale deeply, and I had to look up again to see his reaction. He was already smiling brightly with his sparkling eyes and enthusiastic nods of his head.

"That would be fine," he said. "Okay, you are already dismissed."

"Thank you."

I did not look at his face anymore and just straightly went out of the building without sweating. Thankfully, he did not try to chase me after going out of the building until I got a taxi for myself to the hospital. I was thinking a
