Alison
“Steal?” I said in a shocking tone. “I’m not doing that.”
“You have no choice err…” he looked at me, with those dark eyes that made my skin crawl. “What’s your name?”
“It’s Alison.” I replied. “And I’m not stealing for you. If there’s something else I could do…”
“Alison!” He called my name and I wondered why until he spoke up again. “Do you want the bouncer to throw you out? Because I wouldn’t hesitate to tell them that you tried to do something shady.”
I sighed. I couldn’t get thrown out. I needed to see Adam. He was the only one who could save me from sleeping on the streets.
“Are you going to do what I ask or should I call the bouncer?”
I was trapped. I just had to do it.
“Okay what do you want me to steal?” I said and a smirk popped up on his lips. It could be mistaken for a smile because of the way his eyes radiated.
“You see that man over there with the hat. He has a watch placed in his pocket all you have to do is swipe it off him and bring it to me.”
“What if he catches me?” I asked.
“He can’t use your womanly charms to entice him.” He leaned closer his breathe fanning against my eyes. “It’s a good thing you got perky breast.”
My eyes widened at his words and his smirk widened. “Steal the watch and report to me. I would be in the back room over there.”
He pointed to a door close to the entrance. “Don’t think I wouldn’t be watching you.”
He walked away, leaving me standing in the midst of the crowd.
I sighed taking a step forward, the closer I got closer to the man. The more I noticed different things about him.
He had a tattoo spread across his hands, and marks on his skin were there wasn’t any ink.
He looked dangerous, at that point I knew if I got caught. I wouldn’t spare me.
I walked closer to the man, trying to keep my nerves from showing.
As I approached, him he looked at me, and I noticed his other eye was covered by a deep scar.
I was doomed.
I positioned myself across from him.
“What’s a man like you doing here all alone?” I asked.
His voice was gruff as he replied, “Great men dine alone.”
I gave him a coy smile, leaning slightly forward. “Great men need great women by their side.”
He grunted, taking a slow sip from his glass, his eye never leaving me. His hand shifted slightly, and that’s when I noticed the watch sticking out of his pocket.
“Let me treat you well,” I murmured.
He raised a brow. “Are you a whore?”
I shook my head, forcing a playful smile remembering the stranger’s words.
“I can your whore,” I said softly, pushing my chest forward just enough to hold his attention. His eye darted to my neckline.
I leaned closer, pretending to adjust my hair. My hand moved toward the edge of the table, and with a calculated nudge, I knocked his drink over.
“Damn it!” he yelled, jumping to his feet as the liquid spilled down his short.
“I’m so sorry!” I gasped, moving to his short.
My hand slipped to his pocket, fingers brushing against the cool metal of the watch.
In one quick motion, I slid it out and hid it in my pocket.
“Let me help you clean this properly,” I said.
“Just get away from me!” he barked, waving me off angrily. He turned to a nearby server. “Boy! Get me a cloth!”
As he turned his attention away, I slipped into the crowd. Instead of heading back to the stranger who’d sent me, I decided to find Adam.
I moved quickly through the crowd, scanning for Adam’s familiar frame. But before I could spot him, I heard a shout from behind me.
“There she is!”
I turned to see the man I’d stolen from pointing in my direction.
“Thief!” he roared, and the room erupted into chaos.
Bullets shattered glasses as men began firing endlessly.
Screams filled the air as servers ducked for cover. My heart raced as I shoved my way through the panicked crowd.
Suddenly, I felt a strong hand grab my arm, pulling me backward.
It was the stranger—the dark-eyed man who’d sent me on this insane mission.
“This way!” he barked, pulling me toward the back of the pub.
“Wait!” I protested, my voice barely audible over the gunfire. “I need to find my friend!”
“There’s no time! Do you want to get killed?”
Before I could argue, he dragged me outside roughly.
We stopped in front of a car which looked very expensive.
“Get in!” He ordered, and looked at him shocked. “We need to leave now.”
“I’m not doing that.” I said. “I stole your watch, now just let me go.”
“If I leave you here you are going to get killed. I’m trying to protect you.”
“You put me in this mess.” I pointed out. “I have a feeling you’re going to put me in more messes. Just take your watch and let me go.”
“Alison, fucking get in the car.” His tone was edgy.
Before I could argue a voice rang out behind us. “Shoot her!”
I froze, fear gripping me.
“Move!” the stranger shouted, opening the door of the car.
I jumped in as he started the engine, the tires screeching against the pavement.
“Duck!” he ordered, pulling a gun from his jacket.
I barely had time to lower my head before he rolled down the window and fired several shots at our pursuers.
“What the hell did you get me into?” I shouted, my voice shaking.
He glanced at me briefly, his dark eyes colder than before. “This is just beginning.”
I wanted to ask what he meant by that, but the sound of another gunfire silenced me.
Alison“Where are we going?” I finally asked, breaking the silence. We had been driving for hours, heading down the path that led out of the city. I was beginning to feel uneasy. The stranger’s dark eyes flicked to me in the rearview mirror. “The Highlands,” he said simply. “The Highlands?” I asked.“My home,” he added, offering no further explanation. Finally we pulled into a long, winding driveway. Guards were stationed outside, and they bowed their hands when he stepped out.“Damien!” A man called out walking in our direction, and I saw the stranger look his way.‘So that was his name?’ I thought to myself. “I thought you were dead,” The man continued. “You didn’t pick up my calls or reply to my messages.” “I had things to handle.” Damien said, in a firm tone. The man’s brows furrowed. “By things, you mean a bimbo?” He jerked his head in my direction, his scornful gaze raking over me. “The girl isn’t the reason I disappeared for days Hugh,” Damien replied evenly. “Our path
Alison I stared at Damien in disbelief. “You heard what I said.” His voice was cold, and his eyes distance. “Take off those clothes.” “I can’t.” I replied. “I don’t want to…” The cold calculating looking on his face faded, and a smirk popped up. “Do you think I want to fuck you?” I didn’t say anything I just stared at him. He chucked. “You’re not my type, Alison.” I noticed as he pulled out a red dress, handing it over to me. “Wear it or I will have to strip you down myself, and drape it over your head.” He said. I collected the dress, and Damien gave me a warm look. “Good girl.” “If I do this would I leave this place?” I asked ignoring his words. “Do you want to die?” He asked in a casual tone. I shook my head. “Then stop asking questions. You have one minute to get dressed. I will be waiting in the car.” He walked away leaving me alone, as I held the dress. I hated the fact that he was doing this. I got dressed quickly and when I got inside the car I asked Damien t
Damien ‘When did I become so weak?’ I muttered to myself as I watched as one of my men directed Alison out of the room. It was unlike me not to inflict punishment when need be. ‘What was wrong with me?’ “Damien!” The sound of my name being called caused me to pull myself out of my thoughts. I turned to see Gemma standing right in front of me. “Hugh has sent me to call you. He said he has something important to discuss.” “Tell him I would be there shortly.” I said to Gemma not giving her a second glance. My eyes were on Alison and the moment she was about to be directed down the corridor I shouted, gaining the attention of my men. “Bring her back.” I said. I saw Alison’s face change as I spoke. “Damien! Hugh has something really important to discuss.” Gemma spoke up again. I rolled my eyes, placing my gaze on Gemma. “Didn’t you hear what I said?” She nodded, and I placed my eyes back on Alison as I spoke. “Go deliver my message.” “You know she’s distracting you.” Gemma spo
Damien“How did this happen?” I said in thunderous tone as I peered between Ollie, and the rest of the men behind him.“They breached the entrance. W…wwe didn’t see them come through and when realized it, we tried to our best to..”“Tried!” I spat. “If you all can’t defend our territory. You’re showing the enemies that we are weak.”“You need to calm down Damien!” Hugh said, and I furrowed my brows.“I can’t calm down.” My voice increased, and saw fear take over the eyes of my men.“You have failed me. All of you.”I said with my eyes landing on each, and everyone of them. “And you know what happens when you fail me.”I watched as they dropped to them knees. Their face covered in more fear as they looked at me.“We are sorry boss.” They said. “We didn’t mean to—““Silence!” I growled, raising up a hand. “Your pleads won’t save you. You all will be punished once I return.”Then my gaze focused on Ollie. “I want the keys to the truck. I’m going to the city.“The minute my men walked a
Alison The cold air hit me as the warehouse doors opened, and Alberto's men dragged me inside. My arms ached from being tied behind my back. They shoved me into a dim room, the door slamming shut behind me. When I tuned, I saw Alberto standing at the far end, his back to me as he examined a small object in his hand. He turned slowly when he noticed me, a wicked smile spreading across his face. “Nice to meet you again,” he said flashing me a sly smile. I didn’t reply, keeping my eyes fixed on him. “What’s the matter?” Alberto sneered, taking a step closer. “Why so quiet? You were all chatty the night you and that mutt Damien stole my watch.” Still, I said nothing. He hated my silence, and I wasn’t about to give him the satisfaction of a reaction. His grin dropped , and his expression darkened. He closed the gap between us in two swift steps, grabbing a fistful of my hair and yanking my head back. Pain shot through my scalp, but I didn’t flinch. “You and Damien Santos a
AlisonAidan’s words hit me like a blow.“You can’t be serious,” I said in a whisper. “Is this some twisted attempt to get me to come back with you?”He shook his head. “I wouldn’t lie about something like this. There’s evidence, Rae. Back at our home. If you come with me, I’ll show you everything.”I took a step back. I was feeling overwhelmed by everything. I didn’t know what to do. I just stared at Aiden.Aiden moved closer to me. “I know no apology is going to make up for what I did, but I will keep apologizing if that’s what it takes to get you to come home with me. I let my emotions take over, which was wrong.” Aiden paused, then his voice picked up again. “Listen to me. There’s nothing going on with Mabel. I swear it. Everything I said that day... it was out of anger. I didn’t mean any of it.”“You’re lying!” I snapped, my voice breaking. “You told me you were going to marry her. That you’d give her everything—my inheritance, my life. You wanted to replace me with her, Aiden!”
Alison The week leading up to my departure to the Highlands has been hectic.Aiden and I had spent endless hours formulating plans to bring Damien down.Aiden had decided that the only way to destroy Damien was to go undercover and unravel his schemes. It was risky, but Aiden was determined—and so was I.That morning, the reality of leaving weighed heavily on both of us. The room was quiet, save for the sound of our breathing as we sat side by side on the bed.“I’m going to miss you,” he said, breaking the silence. He planted a tender kiss on my temple. Then his lips trailed down to my cheek, lingering there for a moment.I looked at him, feeling a bit sad. “I’ll miss you too,” I said softly. His lips found mine, and slowly he kissed me.“I just want to make our last time together memorable,” he murmured, pulling back slightly to look into my eyes.I laughed. “You’re making it sound like I’ll be gone forever.”He smiled, but there was something bittersweet in it. “It’s going to feel
Damien“You’ve lost your mind, Damien!” Gemma’s voice broke through the sound of clinking metal, that echoed in the gym.She stood near the door, her arms crossed, watching me with a look of frustration in her eyes.I didn’t stop lifting. “What are you talking about?” I grunted, feeling the strain in my arms as I did another rep.“You know exactly what I’m talking about,” she shot back. “You don’t eat, you barely sleep, and all you do is obsess over finding that girl. It’s pathetic.”“I’m not obsessed,” I said through clenched teeth, dropping the dumbbells to the floor with a heavy thud. “She’s important to this gang.”Gemma scoffed. “In what way? Tell me, Damien, because none of us can see it. She’s just a liability.”“I owe you no explanations,” I snapped, grabbing a towel and wiping the sweat off my face. “Now leave me alone.”But Gemma didn’t leave. She stepped closer, her tone softening. “You don’t even care about me anymore, do you?” she murmured, reaching out to touch my arm. “
Damien I roamed around the house, trying to keep my mind busy, but no matter what I did, my mind kept drifting back to Alison. Was she okay? Had everything gone according to plan? The thought of her being near Aiden made my skin crawl. I let out a frustrated sigh and ran a hand through my hair. I knew Hugh had really worked hard on this plan, calculating every move, but something didn’t sit right with me. I had this nagging feeling that something terrible was going to happen. Without thinking, I stepped out of the house and headed toward the garage. My eyes landed on an old car I hadn’t driven in years. It was covered in a thin layer of dust, but I knew it would still run. I walked over, brushing my fingers along the hood before pulling the door open. “I hope this works,” I muttered under my breath. Sliding into the driver’s seat, I turned the key in the ignition. The engine roared to life, and despite everything, I couldn’t help but smile. Without wasting another second,

Alison Later the next day, Hugh brought out a bottle of whiskey and poured drinks for all of us. He lifted his glass with a smirk. “To us,” he said. Damien raised an eyebrow but didn’t pick up his glass. “Let’s not celebrate too soon.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Come on, Damien. Have a little faith. Things are going to turn out just fine.” Damien scoffed, taking a slow sip from his glass. “That’s what you said last time we went up against Aiden. It didn’t exactly end well.” Hugh chuckled. “Touché.” He leaned back against the couch, stretching his legs out as he swirled the amber liquid in his glass. “You know, Alison, Damien wasn’t always the brooding, overprotective type. Back in the day, he was the one causing all the trouble.” I raised an eyebrow. “Oh really?” Damien let out a groan. “Hugh, don’t.” Hugh grinned, clearly enjoying himself. “Oh, I absolutely will.” He turned to me, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “There was this one time when we were kids—maybe fifteen
Alison Damien and I sat in the living room, the next day. While Hugh stood near a whiteboard, cigarette in hand, with a firm expression on his face. The faint scent of smoke curled around him as he flicked the ash onto the floor. Damien leaned back, eyeing the board. “I really want to know how you got that board.” Hugh exhaled a cloud of smoke. “Can we just focus on the plan?” Damien shrugged. “I’m just saying, it’s a little much.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Noted but I’m not going to do anything about it.” Damien furrowed his eyebrows but Hugh seemed not to notice. He tapped the cigarette against a nearby ashtray. “Now, let’s get started. First off, thank you for joining in, Alison.” His eyes locked on mine. “I know you’ve been through hell because of Aiden, and I don’t expect you to join but I’m glad you did.” I swallowed hard, my nails digging into my palm. “You don’t need to thank me I’m just doing what’s right.” Hugh nodded. “Good. Anyway, I intend to keep this pl
Alison The moment I rolled to the other side of the bed and found out it was empty. I sat up, quickly.“Damien!” I said, after realizing he wasn’t by my side.‘Where did he go?’ I asked myself. He couldn’t be in the shower because I couldn’t hear the water running.I didn’t want to stay alone, so I threw the covers off my body and went to look for him as I made my way toward the door the voices I heard on the other side of the door stopped me in my tracks. It was Damien and Hugh. They happened to be arguing. I pressed my ear against the door, listening, and the more I listened the more I realized they weren’t arguing they were just talking with loud voices. “You have to choose Damien it’s either her or your grandfather’s contact. To me, both are necessary.” I heard Hugh say. “This isn’t the time to focus on emotions Damien. We need her!”There was a beat of silence before Damien spoke, in a tone that was lower and more controlled. “I’m trying to be considerate.” Hugh let ou
DamienThe minute I passed the sign that welcomed us to the city. I felt a bit relieved.I drove through the streets, with so much speed I couldn’t wait to get to my destination and relax. I was exhausted. When we finally pulled up to the house, I glanced at Alison. Her head was leaning against the window, her breathing soft and steady. She was barely keeping her eyes open. I reached over, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Come on,” I murmured. “Let’s get you inside.”She stirred slightly but didn’t argue when I helped her out of the car. Her body clung to me like a second skin as I guided her up the stairs. The moment we stepped into the house, she mumbled something incoherent, already half-asleep. I smiled. “Alright, let’s get you to bed.”I led her to the bedroom, pulled back the covers, and eased her onto the mattress. She barely moved as I tucked her in. As I turned to leave, her hand shot out, gripping my wrist weakly. “Please can you stay with me?”“I’m not goin
AlisonThe car jerked to a sudden halt, jolting me from the haze of exhaustion that had settled over me. My body felt heavy, and sore from hours of being bound and blindfolded. The minute the car opened, I felt the cold air hit my face first, carrying with it the distant sound of passing vehicles. Were we on a main road? A city? Was this where I die, before I could process my thoughts, a firm hand gripped my arm. A second later, I felt the ropes around my wrists being yanked loose. Then the blindfold came off. I blinked rapidly as light flooded my vision. When I finally saw who was standing in front of me, my breath caught in my throat. “Oh my God…”I could barely get the words out. It was Damien. He had saved me.My body moved before I could think—I threw myself at him, my arms wrapping around his torso, holding onto him as if I needed proof that he was real.“Damien!” I finally woke.He let out a small chuckle, as he wrapped his arms around me. “Surprised?” he murmured
Alison I pulled my eyes open and I realized I was blindfolded. The black piece of clothing on my face made it difficult for me to see where I was and my wrists bound so tightly behind my back made it hard for me to take off the stupid blindfold. The only sounds I could make out were the low grunts of the men who were moving me around. Where were they taking me? And where was I?Suddenly I was dropped. Pain shot through my body as I hit the hard, cold floor. A groan slipped past my lips, but I barely had time to process the discomfort before the sound of heavy boots retreating filled the air. I swallowed, my throat dry. “Hello?” My voice wavered. “Who’s there?” There was no answer. The silence that followed made me realize I was all alone.I lay still, with my chest rising and falling with panicked breaths. My heart pounded so loudly that it drowned out the quiet. I had no idea where I was. And worse—I had no idea who had me. Regret churned in my stomach. I shouldn’t
Damien The moment I stepped into the mansion, I was shocked when I noticed that everywhere was quiet. I had expected to hear gunfire, shouting, and some sign of life. But instead, the only thing that greeted me was death. Bodies of my men were lined the front of the mansion. My hands tightened around my gun as I stepped past them, my pulse roaring in my ears. Where the hell was Hugh? I moved cautiously through the hallway, my gun raised, and my eyes scanning every shadow."Hugh?" I called out, my voice bouncing off the empty walls. There was no answer. I increased my pace, moving deeper into the mansion. My mind was already thinking about the worst, that something terrible might have happened to Hugh. It was during that moment I heard a sound. It was faint at first but then it became loud, it sounded almost like a groan."Hugh!" I called again, following the noise. This time, I heard him clearly. “Here…” His voice was hoarse, coming from one of the rooms upstairs. I
