chapter one hundred and thirty one

Jade POV

Throughout the whole day, Ethan didn't do anything to me or to David, which makes everything even more like a horror movie. At night, the beasts usually attack.

I went downstairs to get dinner for David since it was a bit difficult for him to go up and down the stairs, and I preferred him to stay in his room rather than bumping into Ethan around the house. I didn't even want to run into him myself, so I quickly grabbed David's plate and hurried back with the tray to the room.

"You don't need to rush. You'll end up dropping everything," Ethan remarks as I approach.

"I intended to avoid that," I say, trying to dodge him, but he stops in front of me.

"I won't hurt either you or David, you can relax," he assures.

"You've hurt him once already, Ethan," I say ironically.

"I like you, Jade. Whatever you ask of me, I'll be more than happy to do," he adds, with a hint of seduction in his voice.

I thought of saying something, but I let it pass and continued on my way to David's room. H
