After we finished eating, I went to sort out some things with Cassie in the kitchen and ended up laughing at one or two jokes she told me. But nothing cheered me up much. Remembering Ethan with Jade destroyed everything inside me.

"Looks like the ice cream effect doesn't last long," the waitress appears in front of me. It took me a few seconds to reason and remember. I chuckled weakly.

"Oh, but thank you very much for the tip anyway..."

"Ellen."

"Well, you already know my name," we laughed, "Nice to meet you, Ellen."

"Next time bring your wife, I bet she'll love it just like your son did."

I couldn't reply anything else, just smiled at her and called David to go home.

"Early, Anne? It's almost eleven," I grumble, shaking her to wake her up.

"I'm tired of this. Being pregnant is sad."
