CHAPTER THIRTY

The podium was tense, as it should be. The past five days had been the most exciting and exhilarating thing that had ever happened to me, to us in general as a class.

We had failed and hurt and cheered together, a few had even shed tears. We have had victories and defeats and we have had several of our mates beaten so bad we all thought they were all going to die.

But we had made it, we were still thirty just like we were in the beginning, no one had died even though some had been severely injured.
