I pulled the duvet off me and came down from the bed, my legs walking bare on the floor as I walked out of the room and searched for the bathroom. I needed to do my business and clean up, after I was done I went into the surrounding hallway. Where are all the guys? Where did they all disappear to?The floor was quiet, as if there was nobody there. I walked all the way around till I found the stairs at the end of the hall and made my way down the stairs. I finally met all the guys in the kitchen talking and eating pizza."Hey. I am so hungry" I said the moment I got close."Hey""Cassie. You are up""Are you okay?"They all asked, I ignored them and went to the tap and got me a glass of water before settling on one of the chairs to eat."I am okay. I have been asleep for a few hours so I feel better now" I said to them as I took a slice and started eating."What's happening? What were you guys talking about?" I asked them finally, after I had swallowed the bite in my mouth."Did you k
I looked out the plane and watched the faint buildings down below as they moved past. We were finally done with our first mission and we were finally going back to the academy. The snores of Karis and some of the guys drifted to where I sat, I looked away from the window and looked into the plane. It was in the early part of the morning and all the guys had finally gone to sleep. The chatter that had filled the plane earlier had slowly drifted down as they all succumbed to the tiredness that beckoned them. I was most likely the only person that was awake.Maybe some of the commanders were still awake, because at some point words would drift to where I was.I was sleepy and very tired, but I didn't want to drift from my subconscious. I couldn't sleep for two reasons. One was the fact that I had slept off most of the afternoon and early night earlier. Second was the fact that he was waiting for me there, always waiting.I wanted to prevent seeing Hades for as long as I could help it,
School activities ensued as usual, classes resumed and I and Emily had to work extra hard to catch up on all the things we had missed. You would think it was only two weeks worth of school work but that wasn't all. There was as much training as well as tests that we had missed. And it was a very exerting period as we had to catch up with the rest of our mates.I had worried that things would change in school if we went back, but apparently I had nothing to worry about because everyone acted like we hadn't gone on a super deadly mission and came back alive. I wouldn't say that I was the same and I couldn't say the same for the guys that went with me. We had definitely changed, the mission had definitely made us better, sharper and more cautious of things, and it had also made things worse.I could see all that reflecting in my training, how the mission had shaped us to be better, how I reacted quickly and how I made better decisions. I could say the same thing for Emily. We had gro
I woke up the next morning and the first thing I thought about was what had been plaguing my mind before I had fallen asleep. I had figured out that my birthday was the day I was going away with Hades. He had been trailing his time with me slowly, waiting for the chance to take me with him, because he didn't have the strength to do that now.Maybe my immature wolf blood was what had been stopping him, but the moment I turned eighteen my blood would mature fully and then he could have me the way he wanted. My eyes were slitted as I stared at the window above my bed. was getting even weaker and slower than before, and I really hoped the commanders coming today would have the answers for me, or an insight as to what was happening to me.I must have dozed off because next thing I heard was the door to my room opening and closing, then a tense silence. I could smell him even before! opened my eyes. The smell of power and dominance, that smell that always suffocated the area whenever King
I woke up late and the first thing I felt was her presence in the room, apart from the mild Alpha female vibes Emily gave off on a normal day she also had a unique scent. A mixture of Amania and Jasmine, something I would recognize anywhere as Emily's scent. That scent permeated the whole room now, and even before I saw her or recognized her wolf, I already perceived the perfume."I know you are awake" said her voice. She was most likely on the bed on the other side of the room, sitting on the bed that my wayward roommate had but never used.I heard her phone ring and then she picked the call."Yes she is awake. You can come now" she said to whoever was on the other side before she clicked the call off. There was a tense silence as we waited for whoever had been on the receiving end of the call.My door opened and several pairs of footsteps walked in. There was Bryan and Joshua, then Achu, Anthony and Karis. Then the door closed shut."They are here" said Emily as she rose from the b
The guys left after a while, claiming they needed to let me rest. Why was everyone suddenly pampering me and stuff? Emily and Bryan I knew could stay over with me for hours till midnight and still wouldn't want to leave. I even almost pleaded with them to stay but they refused, they didn't know and didn't realise that I didn't have much longer time with them. The closer my birthday got, the closer I got to leaving this world forever.I spent the rest of my afternoon and evening alone, sleeping and resting, being pampered by my new "nurse" . Yes that was what was going to be calling her, or could just use her name really or call her doctor Meena. She did work for me.I thought about so many things, for once I let all the thoughts and things that had shoved to the back of my head rise to the surface. I let myself fully think about it. I thought about Commander Jonathan. How he had lied and twisted his way into my life. How he had warmed my heart and made himself the first person to mak
The rest of the week went by that way. I was mostly on bed and was recuperating, being helped by Doctor Meena, she had a psychiatrist and a nutritionist come in to talk about what could possibly be going on with me upstairs and if there was a link between my receding strength and King Hades. We discussed some methods and therapy they thought would help with all the visions and dreams. After about two weeks of just resting up in my room and being pampered and visited by my friends, I started getting better, I was getting enough sleep at night and I had strength to start up on gaining the muscle strength that I had lost. Jogging from one side to my room and trying not to fall on my face first, then extending the distance of my exercises from one side of the dorm to the other, everyday I spoke to doctor Meena about resuming class and trainings but she refused, saying that I wasn't at a hundred percent yet and I still needed a few weeks. She also cautioned me about overdoing it and tha
Weeks went by that way. I was slowly regaining all the strength that I had lost and was finally free to resume classes as well as training. Things were okay with all my friends and the commanders, but I couldn't ignore the looming tension or fear that I felt from everyone around me. They were scared for me, afraid of what would happen to me if I went with Hades when he finally came for me. I was petrified as well, unsure and afraid of the unknown. But what could I do? This was my destiny and I needed to face it.I ignored all the tension and worried look, even acted like I couldn't hear the discussions some of my friends sometimes had when I walked away, It wasn't as if I was ignoring that fact or anything, it was just that I wanted to enjoy every second of my time here with them, savour every moment before I could probably be gone forever.I was back to classes learning about stuff as well as training. I was hanging out with my friends and laughing as hard as I could. That was all
