So, what do you guys think about Chelsea? She really is a sweet child. Do you think this is the right decision for them to make?
That night, we sent all of the kids to bed a little early while all of the adults had a bit of a sad farewell party in their underground bunker. Even though I expected them to be more excited about getting out of here early, I do understand why they are sad. This is a place that has kept them safe for the last couple of years. It is the place that kept their pack alive when they were unable to do it in their normal home. Frank has decided to stay with the orphans for the night instead of having the party with the others. As the night wore on he became more and more withdrawn. The more quiet he got the more worried I got about him. He was finally starting to open up to me but tonight he just got farther and farther away."Do you think that I should go and check on him?" I ask Elle."It is hard to say. I do not know him anymore. This is not the same guy that left to save you. This is somebody completely new. I still have not been able to have a conversation with him." She says sadly."
Taking a deep breath, we walk into the orphanage together. Frank is inside sitting with the children, reading them a story. He glances up briefly but goes right back to reading to the children. He is reading a story about a lost girl that finally found a home. As he finishes the story, he finally makes eye contact with me, his eyes a little misty."Alright everyone, it is time for bed. Let's get to sleep so that we can get an early start in the morning." He says to the children. They all get up sleepily and begin heading to their rooms. There are only the two rooms, one for boys and one for girls. It does not take them long to make it to their rooms but I do have a feeling that it will take the quite a while to be able to settle down before falling asleep, with tomorrow being so exciting for them and all. "What are you both doing here? Shouldn't you be out there with the others?" He asks us without making eye contact."We were. We were missing somebody important though so we thought
Dante has 5 different vehicles coming to help us move. Three of them are trucks while two are vans. None of them are made for speed but they will be able to take more luggage over at a time than if we were to walk. The orphans are riding in the tractor's trailer along with myself and Frank. All of the witches are spread out along the group to help keep everybody safe."Are you all ready for our next adventure?" Frank says to the kids. They nod enthusiastically as they all find seats on the trailer. The youngest of the children are sitting on the floor of trailer so that we do not have to worry about them falling out. The trailer is similar to the type that they use for hay rides. It is a rather large trailer and three sides are lined in benches for people to sit in. We are able to easily fit all of the children on the trailer as well as some snacks and some toys to help keep all of them busy. Unsurprisingly, Chelsea sits herself next to me for the trip."How long are we going to be r
"Do you know that witch?" Elle asks me when I get close enough."Yes, that is Aurora. She is the leader of the Coven that was working with Simonetta when I last saw her. She was also the first one to turn her back on her and help us." I tell her."So then, is she a friend or a foe?" Elle asks."I have no idea. I guess that I should head over and find out though. Dante, will you have them let the vans and trucks know what is going on so that they can keep an eye out?" I ask him."Yeah I will. Just, be safe okay. You are not invincible. Just think of how long it is taking you to heal from the last time you faced off against any witches. You have to take it easy." He says."I know. I will do my best. I cannot allow them to attack us though. That would only make things worse." I remind him.He nods understandably and turns to walk back towards the others. Elle gives me a loaded look before we begin walking ahead of the rest of the caravan. As soon as we move farther ahead, Aurora and two
Rand walks over to us slowly. He does not hurry but he is not dragging his feet either. He walks at a fairly constant speed as if he has not a care in the world. It is rather enlightening to watch the way that he walks towards us. Aurora studies his figure when he gets closer."Is he really walking over to us alone? Isn't he afraid that we will attack him." She says."He trusts me." I answer her simply."How does he trust you? He has only known you a few days." She says."I have proven worthy of his trust. I have saved his pack and its members many times in such a short time. I am willing to put myself in harm's way to make sure that they are all safe. He knows this as well as I do." I point out.Aurora scoffs at the thought of trusting somebody so easily. I cannot help but shake my head at her over the blatant display. Rand still has not changed speeds as he walks towards us. In fact, it almost looks as if he is enjoying the walk closer to the one that has terrorized his pack all of
"Are you really going to allow them to help you?" I ask Rand in shock before we get back to the group."Of course I am. I might not trust them but I know that they will not try to attack us with you close by. They have destroyed our lives enough to start paying us back by helping us rebuild. If I would have known that they were going to do this I might have stayed where we were but I would wonder every day if they were really being sincere or not. At least I can trust them a little more while you are near." He says to me with a grateful smile.I cannot help but feel humbled by his thought process. I was never trying to take on any more responsibilities but having somebody place this amount of trust in me is something that I will never get used to. They deserved every bit of help that I was able to give them and more. If I had known what was going on sooner then I might have already had them set up elsewhere. Still, I will continue to do everything in my power to help them feel safe."
We almost managed to make it back to our pack before nightfall but sadly did not quite make it. The other witches have followed us a safe distance behind but never once tried to get too close. It would have spooked all of the wolves if they had tried to travel too close to us after all that had happened. The groups that were in the vans did manage to make it back to our pack for the night. They all managed to find temporary rooms at the pack house to sleep in. Kevin managed to get the entire pack to come together to welcome our new neighbors and help to feed them for the night. When it finally starts to get dark enough for us to stop, I get out and stretch before finding Elle so that we can get to work on making a temporary shelter for the night. With the other witches still following behind us I want to make sure that the werewolves all feel as if they are still safe for the night. The thought of working with the witches is going to take a while for them to wrap their heads around.
The next morning dawns way too early but we are more than ready to make the rest of the trip to our pack. After my recent magic usage to set up the sleeping area last night, I am once again fighting exhaustion but not at quite the level of before. This time, I feel as if I can manage my exhaustion instead of letting it rule me again. We are only about an hour away from the pack so after I have the building that we made yesterday turn back into a flat field, with a few extra flowers, we make our way to our pack. I cannot wait to sleep in our own bed once again tonight. It feels like it has been far too long since we were able to be home. Then again, most of my adventures feel that way.As we near the pack territory, our pack begins running out to greet us as well as the new pack. They all have friendly smiles as they bring the children stuffed animals, candy and even some new clothes. I am immensely proud of our pack for being able to once again open their arms to those that they do no
