Listening to their story is really intriguing. It is hard to marry the picture of my mother that I have in my head with the woman that my father is describing her to be. I guess that I always just assumed that they were drawn to each other from the moment that they meant. I never expected that he had to work this hard to try to win her over. "So, what happened when you saw her again? Did she ignore you more?" I ask fully enthralled by this story."No, well, not completely. She started off ignoring me but I was not going to let that happen this time. This time, I walked up to her. I wanted to thank her for helping me. I was so confused on what had happened that I was not entirely sure how I was supposed to thank her. I only knew that I wanted to.This time, she was there with a couple of friends and not with the guy from before. It made it easier for me to get the nerve to walk up to her. As soon as I did her friends all started to giggle like they knew something. They might have been
Hearing their story has filled a void that I did not know I had. Picturing the bar this vividly has me feeling as if I am going through the memory myself. I feel like laughing as he describes his first meeting with my mother. I had no idea that that is how they first met. I can understand why they did not tell me that they met in a bar when I was a child but hearing it now has me laughing. I find myself leaning towards him as I listen to him weave the tale for me. This has to be the most interesting story I have ever heard. I can almost smell the smells that accompany the bar where they met. I can hear the laughter of the patrons as they all sit around drinking and having a good time. "Are you sure that you are not able to do any type of witchcraft?" I ask slyly."What do you mean by that?" He asks confused."Just the way that you weave your story. You do it in such a way that I feel as if I am there. I can practically taste the smoke in the air at the bar. I can hear all of the lau
Dinner was a vast celebration in the main area with the entire pack in attendance. The children continue to run around as the adults all talk and joke while eating. Overall, it is more like a party than it is a dinner as everybody is having way too much fun for just a dinner."Laina, I heard that you are the reason we have this much food!" One little kid says rushing up to me.I start giggling as I say, "Not completely my doing. I did help but without your packmates going out with to gather the food every time there still would not be any." "Do not let Laina fool you here. She really came through for us today. We would not have anywhere near this much food if she did not go to help." Rand says walking up to us.I cannot help the blush that burns across my face at his compliment. I know that it is true but I do not want them trying to turn me into some hero. All I am is a Luna that happens to be half witch. I am by no means some deity that they need to revere."I just used the gifts t
That night my dreams consisted of revisiting the story that my father was tellling me about him meeting my mom. All night long, I kept seeing it happen over and over as if I was standing right next to them. I can even see the man that he almost got into a fight with the first night. When I see the group of women that she goes to the bar with the next night that they run into each other, I am surprised to see that one looks like an older version of Scarlett. It must be her mother before she ended up meeting her mate. They were in the same pack until then so I am sure that they went out a lot when they were younger. As I watch it replay again, I find myself smiling as my father watches my mother all night long. He does nothing but stare at her in a way that would be considered creepy if they had not ended up being mates. The man that she is with is the same one that she had agreed to be with if she had not ended up meeting her mate. I still feel like I am missing something as I watch
Instead of waiting for Frank to come and find me in the morning, I decide that I might as well head to the orphanage and look for him there. From what Rand has said he is normally there watching over the orphans. He needs to know that I am more open than I was yesterday to hear his story and get to know him better.Walking in, I look around at the orphanage. It is set up simply with one main room for all of the kids to hang out in. There is a small kitchen and dining area in the back. Up a set of stairs are two bigger bedrooms. As far as I can tell there is one for boys and one for girls. Each has their own bathroom attached as well. There is one small bedroom on the main floor as well that has to be for my father. The sound of laughter calls to me from the kitchen and dining area. As I walk in I see that there are dirty dishes everywhere. It looks almost as if somebody walked into this room and decided to make 30 different dishes, never finish one of them, and just left the dishes la
Rand was still hesitant when Frank asked him for permission to take the kids up above ground. I told him that I would be going with as would Dante. Between the two of us we could easily keep an eye on the children. Still, he was not quite sure of their safety since accidents are easy, especially with young children that are not used to having that much room to roam. That being said, he did end up agreeing as long as we agreed to take some of his warriors with us as well. That was an easy thing to accept as they can also work on grabbing some more food while we are up there. As we make our way through the tunnels towards the surface, the little girl runs up to me and starts holding my hand. I smile as I look down at her. She has blond hair that is solid curls. They are so perfect that they almost look fake. Her eyes are the brightest blue. She looks just like a little doll with all of her facial features. "Hello again. What is your name?" I ask her curiously."I am Chelsea. I am 7 yea
The kids all run around while we are outside. They play all kinds of games like tag and hide and seek for hours. We have to set up rules for where all they are allowed to go but I swear that they are never going to tire. They are having the time of their lives and Frank never even had to get out the water hose. "Thank you for helping with this. These children have needed it." He says walking over to me. "I am more than happy to help with this. I can tell that they have needed to act like kids. Being down there cannot be good for them. Is it true that they are not able to turn into their wolves?" I ask him. "Sadly yes. Any of us that do not make a trip topside for an extended time end up having that problem. We can feel our wolves there, waiting, but when we attempt to transform it disappears. Almost like somebody has locked our wolves in cages." He says. "You have all been locked in cages. For years now. It is no wonder why your wolves do not come out anymore. I would not want to
As soon as we make it back down to the underground city, the kids' energy levels begin to drop. They rub sleepy eyes as they slowly traipse back to their house. Even with the energy this low, they are all constantly smiling and even mumbling about what they got to do today. It is going to be a memory that they all share for the rest of their lives. They all settle in for a nap as my father and I walk into the kitchen area to prepare their lunch. There was more than enough food for everyone to have a nice sized lunch again today. Frank has informed me that while they have dinner together as a pack every night they normally consume the other two meals a day in their own areas. When there is enough food for all three meals."So, how did your next meeting with my mother go?" I ask him curiously.I had planned on giving him more time to broach the subject but it is really hard to continue waiting to hear the story. I feel almost as if I have to know exactly what happened. It seems imperat
"Wait, you can do that?" Frank asks shocked. "Yes, of course I can. It is not something that I have done often, actually only one other time but it is an option. It is one that terrifies her." I admit. "Who did you do it to before?" Rand asks me. "I did it to Morden. There was no other way to stop her from coming after my pack or my family." I answer simply. "Your grandmother said that Simonetta was behind that the entire time. That only makes it right that she gets the same punishment if not worse than what Morden received." Rand points out. I had not thought of it that way but it is true. Still, we need to have a system set up for something like this. Otherwise, there will always be somebody that takes advantage of the power and that is not something that I can condone. "That is very true. I had not thought of that but this is not a decision to be made lightly. There might be longer reaching consequences that even I am not aware of by using this ability. Still, I see no other o
It did not take long at all for the Hybrid Council to arrive. They all file in looking a little shocked to see Simonetta there, unable to use her magic as she floats slightly in the air. Quickly, they find their seats. Then, both Rand and Frank walk in as well. I had not thought of inviting them but I am glad that Dante did. With how long she terrorized their pack it is only fitting that they are here for this as well.I smile at them all as they whisper among themselves for a few moments. This is a bit of a shock for those that were not here to see Simonetta arrive. For Frank and Rand, they finally see their enemy tied up and floating in the air. They are not aware that I can take away her ability to use magic so this is going to be a shock to them when the meeting starts. "I take it you called us all here for a reason?" Elle says once everyone starts to calm down."Yes, I did. As everybody here knows, Simonetta has caused quite a few problems for us. She has terrorized werewolves,
Simonetta rushes towards me using wind to guide her speed. It is not enough to throw me off guard though and I shove a wall of dirt up in front of me. She almost crashes into it before she is able to skid to a stop at the last second. If she had prepared then she might have been able to use the air that was helping her speed up to me to jump over the wall but instead, she is used to using her other powers for combat and did not make the decision in time.As soon as she begins to stop, I tear down the wall and shift into werewolf form quickly to land on top of her with my teeth to her neck. Out of all of the forms that I could have turned into this was the only one that registered as an option. I would like for her to see the one thing that she thinks is beneath her be the thing that brings her down. For once, she surprises me when she throws me off of her with some air. I quickly flip over and land on my paws. I shift back and face her again. She is breathing hard and I find myself a
As soon as my illsuion drops I see Simonetta's face blanche. Chelsea drops to the ground and has it swallow her up as she falls through it to meet the others. I send her a brief thank you as she helps to keep them all safe from whatever back up plan Simonetta could have. She sends me a sad farewell. Apparently she is worried about whether or not I am going to make it out of this one. I might not have used much magic recently but I guarantee that there is no way I will let her get away with this threat. Today, she is going to go down and she is not going to be a threat to anybody with werewolf blood ever again."Wait, you had the baby? No! You can't have had it already!" She screams in rage."Actually, I can. There was nothing stopping me from having it. There is also nothing in the way of me putting a stop to you and your bullying once and for all" I say. She takes a few steps back as she steels herself for what we bothk now is going to happen next. It is a shame that the rest of the
"Why would she ever want to go with you?" I ask Simonetta in shock."I am sure that she can see the benefits when she realizes that if she doesn't then she will never get to meet the bundle of joy in your stomach. I will personally make sure that you are unable to deliever them. After all, the more powerful the babes the less the mother can use magic so I am sure that you are not able to defend yourself very well." Simonetta says triumphantly.I try my best to look worried. I really do. I find that it is difficult to be worried about her though. She has never really had a lot of sway over me. Even when I first realized how much stronger than her I am I had found it difficult to be scared of her. "You really think that I am afraid of you? Even without being able to use my powers you do not worry me. I have plenty of other witches that are able to come and help me." I say."Not before something bad happens to you. Chelsea, I would hate to see for anything bad to happen to Laina. I just
Each team splits up and gets ready to make their way through the obstacle course. They are all going to have to take turns trying to make it through safely. Each team has a designated amount of time before they get elminated. The one that makes it through the fastest and with the least amount of mistakes, will be the ones to win the competition. The course is very similar to the one that we did with the entire pack when we first started training. The one that really got the women moving faster as they fought to make good time through the course to beat the men. This one is just a little more geared towards children and not fully grown adults. Some of the obstacles are smaller to better accomodate their size, some things are closer together and they have even added some new obstacles that would have been difficult for the adults. There are also some obstacles that are going to require teamwork to make it through. If they do not work together then they have no hope of making it to the
It takes much longer than planned to get the babies ready for travel. I have never packed a diaper bag before but luckily Scarlett shows up to help me get them ready and squeal over the twins for a minute. Or more precisely, several minutes."I can't believe that they are finally here! I swear it felt like your pregnancy was never going to end. Every time that I thought you were going into labor and you never did. Yesterday, I had no idea that you were going into labor. How did you keep that from me?!" She says to me."It was not exactly on purpose. I did not even know that I was in labor until I spoke to Dante and then Elle confirmed it. It was a really odd day. We had a lot that happened that day so I thought that everything I was feeling was just from stress." I admit to her."Ha! For once, I could have answered that if you had just talked to me. Instead, you have me doing made up jobs with you to help me out." She says excitedly.I shake my head as she begins showing me exactly h
The first night with the babies was quite a bit of a learning curve. Whenever we put them in their bassinets they just started to cry nonstop until we picked them up again. It took a couple of hours to find out that if we put them into the same bassinet they were able to sleep peacefully and not wake us up. By the time we managed learning that, I was beyond exhausted and ready to sleep. Thankfully, there was more than enough people in the house to help us out throughout the night. When I wake up I find that Dante is already standing over their bassinet watching them sleep. They have managed a few hours of sleep straight which for me was quite shocking considering that they are newborns. "How are they?" I ask him sleepily.Chelsea decided to sleep on one of the loveseats last night as well. She was just too excited to go to sleep in her bedroom after I had the babies. I do not blame her but as she shifts when I start talking I do realize that that might have been a mistake. She is goi
Chelsea comes running in once the babies start to cry for food. Her face is filled with excitement as she rushes over to me. Even though they are hungry, I allow her to hold and rock Caterine while I first feed Archer. I might get good enough to be able to feed them both at once in the future but for now feeding just one is tricky. I never knew that it could be this hard to feed a baby."Hi Caterine, I am your Aunt Chelsea. We are going to be best friends. You are going to get to go to school with werewolf pups and use magic. It is going to be wonderful. I can't wait to teach you everything that I know." Chelsea coos to the baby making all of us smile. It is a good thing that she already has so much experience being around babies because she does a great job holding Caterine while Archer is feeding. She does sit down though as she looks at her. Even though Caterine was crying just a moment ago from hunger, she is now looking at Chelsea with wide eyes. Werewolf pups have much better ey
