Rand has been generous enough to give us enough area to make all of our rooms rather large. Instead of doing two really large bedrooms, I opt to make a more formal sitting area in between two suites. I draw a crowd of onlookers as we draw a plan in the dirt of how we want the rooms to be.Once we get the general outline, I reach out with my awareness and focus on the size and overall shape of the rooms. As I show it my picture, the Earth responds swiftly to make the vision come to life. In a matter of seconds, the entire thing is dug out. It is lacking any type of furniture or even a more focused plan but the bare bones of the rooms are dug out.The audience behind me gasps loudly. Turning, I see them all backing away a little bit as they stare at what would have taken them weeks to do on their own. It is hard to tell if they are impressed, fearful, or both. Rand is watching intently as I continue my work on the rooms. At a much slower pace, I begin to craft sofas and a few end tables
Rand leads me down to where most of the less fortunate families are staying. We are rather close to the orphanage when we stop and he can show me where the problem lies. There is a heap of shovels and picks laying on the ground outside of an opening that is almost too small for a full grown werewolf to get through. Climbing in, I only travel a couple feet down a tunnel before I reach the limestone wall in question. Reaching out with my hand, I send my thoughts through the stone as I try to find out if they can continue the rooms here or not. The limestone goes on for a couple of feet before it runs into a raging underground river. I have never seen one quite this intense before. If they had accidentally dug into this river it could have been deadly. The water could have swept through and filled up many chambers, even claiming lives before they were able to seal it up again. There is still a way to make a room here even though it will not be quite as the others were. Instead of going
Amora ended up offering to help the wolves with dinner preparations after she rested for a while. The other wolves have no problems accepting her with her gentle, motherly nature. I am not sure that they will accept me quite so easily. Instead of offering to help them out, I instead take the chance to take a nap and relax for a while. It is definitely needed after the excitement today.I wake up to a knock on the door. Dante must have went out at some point because I am the only one in the room right now. Groggily, I get up and stumble my way towards the door. I have not felt this tired in quite a while. That nap was not anywhere near long enough. When I open the door, I am unprepared for what is waiting for me. Of course, it is my father waiting in the doorway with a sheepish expression. Without a word, I step back and let him pass me. I am definitely not in the mood for this meeting by any means. I thought that I was before our arrival but now I have no idea what to think of the guy
"So, what is it that you have to tell me?" I ask him calmly.I am still a little hesitant about hearing his story but a little more information might actually make dealing with him a lot easier. A little understanding can go a very long ways towards bridging the gaps that are popping up between us. "Do you know how your mother and I met?" He asks sadly. The Moon Goddess very briefly spoke of their early relationship. She did not however, speak of their meeting. Instead she focused on them choosing to be mates. She met with both of them and told them what would be expected of them if they were to choose to be mates. At the time my father was still human. He was the product of a witch mother but since men do not carry magic in their veins he was just an ordinary human."No, I do not." I answer truthfully. He smiles as he begins to tell me the story:"It was late at night. My friends and I had went to a bar where we were told there were some attractive women that frequented at night. Wh
Listening to their story is really intriguing. It is hard to marry the picture of my mother that I have in my head with the woman that my father is describing her to be. I guess that I always just assumed that they were drawn to each other from the moment that they meant. I never expected that he had to work this hard to try to win her over. "So, what happened when you saw her again? Did she ignore you more?" I ask fully enthralled by this story."No, well, not completely. She started off ignoring me but I was not going to let that happen this time. This time, I walked up to her. I wanted to thank her for helping me. I was so confused on what had happened that I was not entirely sure how I was supposed to thank her. I only knew that I wanted to.This time, she was there with a couple of friends and not with the guy from before. It made it easier for me to get the nerve to walk up to her. As soon as I did her friends all started to giggle like they knew something. They might have been
Hearing their story has filled a void that I did not know I had. Picturing the bar this vividly has me feeling as if I am going through the memory myself. I feel like laughing as he describes his first meeting with my mother. I had no idea that that is how they first met. I can understand why they did not tell me that they met in a bar when I was a child but hearing it now has me laughing. I find myself leaning towards him as I listen to him weave the tale for me. This has to be the most interesting story I have ever heard. I can almost smell the smells that accompany the bar where they met. I can hear the laughter of the patrons as they all sit around drinking and having a good time. "Are you sure that you are not able to do any type of witchcraft?" I ask slyly."What do you mean by that?" He asks confused."Just the way that you weave your story. You do it in such a way that I feel as if I am there. I can practically taste the smoke in the air at the bar. I can hear all of the lau
Dinner was a vast celebration in the main area with the entire pack in attendance. The children continue to run around as the adults all talk and joke while eating. Overall, it is more like a party than it is a dinner as everybody is having way too much fun for just a dinner."Laina, I heard that you are the reason we have this much food!" One little kid says rushing up to me.I start giggling as I say, "Not completely my doing. I did help but without your packmates going out with to gather the food every time there still would not be any." "Do not let Laina fool you here. She really came through for us today. We would not have anywhere near this much food if she did not go to help." Rand says walking up to us.I cannot help the blush that burns across my face at his compliment. I know that it is true but I do not want them trying to turn me into some hero. All I am is a Luna that happens to be half witch. I am by no means some deity that they need to revere."I just used the gifts t
That night my dreams consisted of revisiting the story that my father was tellling me about him meeting my mom. All night long, I kept seeing it happen over and over as if I was standing right next to them. I can even see the man that he almost got into a fight with the first night. When I see the group of women that she goes to the bar with the next night that they run into each other, I am surprised to see that one looks like an older version of Scarlett. It must be her mother before she ended up meeting her mate. They were in the same pack until then so I am sure that they went out a lot when they were younger. As I watch it replay again, I find myself smiling as my father watches my mother all night long. He does nothing but stare at her in a way that would be considered creepy if they had not ended up being mates. The man that she is with is the same one that she had agreed to be with if she had not ended up meeting her mate. I still feel like I am missing something as I watch
