For my private quarters, I am planning to have a nice sized chamber for my entire family to be able to use and then a few rooms connected to it. The largest will, of course, be for myself and Dante while the others will be for any children and grandchildren that we might one day have. Each bedroom will have a private bathroom as well so that there will be no squabbles later on.What I do not tell the witches is, there is also going to be a security room that the contractors are going to help me set up so that I can keep an eye on things even when I am not at the location. There will also be a lot of training areas that will specifically focus on things that only a witch/wolf hybrid is able to do. The library is going to be the first room up the stairs and then passed that is going to be our quarters. We are going to have it set up so that only blood relatives are able to walk through the first door without being invited. After that, each person will have the same thing for their priva
Planning our quarters and building them is another thing entirely. It takes almost a month before they are completed. A long month of training teenagers in survival skills, building our other home, and trying to spend plenty of time with my new familiar as well.Things are going fairly well with the fish. The more I go to see it the faster it seems to show up each time. I grow less and less weary of it and after a couple of visits even feel capable of having Dante join me in the water. He was no where near as trusting as I was but he still got in and was able to run a hand down its' side before it swam further away again.Ulfred is being just the cutest little baby as he shifts almost constantly from wolf to baby form everyday. He is going to wear out his parents when he starts running around as a wolf pup. They are definitely going to have their hands full with that child. If he keeps his sweetness then he will always have a get out of jail free card up his sleeve as well. Elle has
When I walk into the pack house, I find Dante in the kitchen finishing up making us some lunch. I walk in to help him and find him making a mountain of sandwiches and trying to carry one too many things to the counter which results in him dropping a few items. I chuckle as I walk over to him to pick up the items that fell."Looks like you could use some help with all of this stuff." I say to him still chuckling at watching him try to juggle everything."It is helpful sometimes. I always thought that I would have a mate that is around to help out but mine always seems to be busy." He says sarcastically with a brow raised."Well, it takes a lot of time to help run a pack and to run a Coven. Not to mention all of the extra classes that we are adding in and building an entire place for the coven. We still need to come up with a few more buildings on their land and something for both races to be able to do joint training. Right now neither will be willing to go to the other for training so
Showing up outside of the witch house the next morning is priceless. They had to have been trying to keep an eye on if I was still in the house or not because they are all beyond shocked that I used the front door instead of leaving my quarters. Next time I am going to have to leave at the end of the day and then use the pathway back to really throw them off."Laina?.....I did not expect you here....now." Rosa says to me as I walk into the house. She really did not hide the fact that I threw her off well. Could she end up being the one that tries to overthrow me first? I know for a fact that somebody is going to try it but I never expected that she would be the first one to try. "Well, I figured it would be nice to work on my quarters some more. It was not quite ready for me to stay last night but I am hoping that I will be able to soon." I tell her."Are you sure that you do not need help with anything up there? I would be more than happy to help you out." She offers once again."No
When I tell Dante about what Jade says to me he smiles while making the food. He does not seem surprised that any of the parents have come up to me to thank me for what I have been doing. He seems more surprised that it took them this long to finally say something."You do know that the things you have started in this pack are completely unheard of right? Nobody has ever done this kind of training with all of the members of the pack before. They have always just let things go as they are." Dante informs me."That may be true but I am not doing any more for them then I wish somebody had done for me. While I would not have been able to fight against the witches as a child, at least knowing how to survive on my own would have been helpful. My father had taught me a few things but that was only the things that he had picked up from Elle before he left. This stuff could have made my life way easier when I was younger if it was just taught to me the way I am teaching it to them." I explain.
"Are you telling me that your familiar has already established enough of a bond with you that it has been able to change its shape to travel with you now?" Elle asks the next day when I run into her at the house with Rojo draped around my neck in cat form once again."Yeah, it seems that way. Yesterday he did not want me to leave so instead he just came with me. I finally know that it is a he instead of a she though. It was too difficult to tell as a fish but now that he is a cat, it is a little more obvious." I confide."I can see that. Well, congratulations on this accomplishment. It was hard enough to believe that you had a familiar and now I have to wrap my head around the fact that it is already shape shifting. You might as well work on training it to fight so that it will be able to help defend you better if need be." She tells me.I guess that would not be a bad idea. I just got done training a bunch of werewolves and as much as I would like to have some free time this really c
It is finally time for the first survival weekend. I wanted to be able to spend some more time with each group before they are left on their own for a weekend but they seem to be fairly prepared. Since they have only received one week of training I am allowing them to keep their notebooks with them but they will each have to survive at a campsite alone for 3 full days. Not long enough to starve but it is long enough to test them and motivate them. Once we get more training done on others we are going to make the survival time even longer."Are you guys ready to get out there?" I ask them all.Being a group of guys none of them are allowing me to see their nerves but they are not very good at hiding it either. One of the guys visibly gulps while another seems to be sweating profusely. There are a total of five guys that will be heading out today with nothing on them except for a pocket knife."It is time for you each to come up here and draw a popsicle stick out of this jar. Each one g
Keeping an eye on the teenagers that are doing their survival training is just as entertaining as I had thought it would be. The two that procrastinated when they first arrived are the first two to notice the desperate pangs of hunger. I think that they thought that their parents would sneak them food but when nobody shows up, they begin to worry about what they will eat. Eventually, they break down and begin to set up their camp and find food but not until the hunger is a constant distraction. I have been at that point and it makes somebody make foolish decisions when they are constantly distracted by it. At least they do not have to worry about the possibility of actually starving as we will be there to get them by the time the weekend is over. The other three are doing better but have still faced their share of difficulties. The one that could not find water has had to get creative on they get their water intake all day. Instead of capturing it like the other ones have done, he ma
