Episode 1

Selena's POV

"Seli, I have an important task that needs to be dealt with immediately. The wedding... should be rescheduled."

"What did you say?"

After Williams said this, my mouth opened a little!

The biggest banquet hall in Shadow pack was behind us. In just less than an hour, we were supposed to enter the hall together, holding hands, to celebrate our wedding.

However, at this very moment, Williams announced his decision to reschedule the ceremony .

The initial happiness on my face vanished and turned slightly pale. I put up a facade of composure and spoke.

"Are you alright? The wedding will begin in less than an hour. No matter what matters you may have, simply wait till the wedding concludes, and then we can address them."

Williams quickly glanced at the wedding reception venue situated behind me through the window, his deep eyes fixated on me with a sense of slight urgency.

"I can't do it right now as I have a pressing matter at hand. If the wedding rescheduled in two days is not bad."

Following his statement, he abruptly turned away and left, displaying signs of haste.

"Are you kidding? How is that not bad?"

I instinctively held onto his sleeve without wanting to release him.

If he leaves in such a manner, how will my family's reputation be affected in front of the pack members?

"Williams, we are mate! Is there anything that holds greater importance than our wedding?"

I gazed at him with eyes that were wide, unclouded, and sparkling like stars.

"You can't simply leave in the midst of our wedding like this. It's only fair that you offer me an explanation at the very least!"

He glanced at me with a hint of embarrassment and remained silent for a brief moment. Subsequently, he parted his slender lips and uttered a sentence."

"Vera needs me right now..."

Vera?

As soon as I heard this name, a freezing sensation enveloped my heart and quickly extended to my entire body.

"Vera needs you? Dammit Williams, it's our wedding..."

My grip on his sleeve weakened as my hand became feeble.

William once had a girlfriend when he was in college.

I don’t know what happened later, but this young love ended with Vera moving out of the pack and staying in the Capital.

I clenched my fists tightly. It never crossed my mind that Williams would leave our wedding and leave me on the day of our weeding due to his previous relationship.

When Williams saw that i was silent, he brushed my hand away and turned towards the elevator, walking quickly without any hesitation.

My eyes turned red instantly, and i felt that my throat was blocked and uncomfortable.

My Wolf Meeka had remained silent throughout all of this but I could feel the fury coursing through her..

My wolf is furious and so am I..

"William Cobbler..."

I unexpectedly spoke just as he was about to reach the elevator.

As I looked down and caught sight of him, my eyes were already transformed into a mesmerizing combination of white fur and blue eyes, but i tried my best to restrain my wolf from taking over.

I lightly opened my lips that had been painted with red lipstick.

"Our wedding is about to start, you can wait for the wedding to end..."

"Seli, don't you understand? The wedding for today has been called off,"

William impatience interrupted me.

"Something happened to Vera. She is alone in the Capital now. I have to go."

I felt a strong trembling in my heart, and I couldn't utter the remaining words as they got stuck in my throat.

Seeing him eager to find Vera, my thick eyelashes trembled.

After a few seconds of silence, when he was about to enter the elevator, a clear voice rang out.

"You have to reject me first before you leave."

Upon hearing what I said, William turned around, and a frown appeared on his face.

when he looked back at me, his eyes were a little more thoughtful and impatient, as if he were looking at an insane girl.

"Seli, stop making trouble. I'll be back soon after I finish handling Vera's matter, and I will organize another grand ceremony for....."

This time, i didn't wait for him to finish speaking, "If you go find her now, then we are done."

My slightly voice was firm and decisive.

Although I like him as my mate and am happy to marry him, it doesn't mean that he can ignore our wedding..

Respect for others cannot be subordinated to love or mate bond.

"When I return, we can discuss all topics."

"No need for that." I gulped and then continued, "I Selena Habsburg, the offspring of the Habsburg lineage of the Shadow pack, hereby reject..."

Before I could finish my statement, William glanced at me with an icy eyes.

"Seli, you do not have the right to reject me! When I return, we will have a discussion about everything."

He entered the elevator confidently after speaking those words, then he pressed the button to close the door, as I observed the elevator door gradually shutting.

I watched as he left, my heart filled with conflicting emotions.

Tears welled up in my eyes and trickled down, clinging to my pale and flawless complexion, appearing like tiny clear droplets.

A lady dressed in a black gown emerged from the opened door of the wedding banquet hall.

She had applied a thick layer of foundation to hide the wrinkles on her face.

Her gaze held a touch of contempt as she asked, "Where is Williams?"

I looked down and whispered softly, "He just left."

Evelyn, the mother of William, was taken aback, and just as she was about to respond, I whispered.

"He went in search of Vera..."

When the woman heard the name, her eyes suddenly lit up, and she did not experience any guilt. She said in a patronizing manner.

"How foolish are you? You failed to keep your mate on your wedding day. You allowed him to go to another woman.."

The lady behind Evelyn was dressed in an elegant silk red dress.

She sneered upon hearing what I said.

"You have no educational qualifications, and you have no beauty. You are in no way comparable to Vera. Undoubtedly, my brother deserves someone better."

Abigail was the one speaking, and she happened to be the sister of Williams.

My eyes, which were once lowered, suddenly lifted, and the haze in my vision dissipated greatly.

This was because my fair complexion accentuated the darkness of my eyes, and my lips, painted in a shade of red, were slightly parted.

"You don't have to worry... we are not together anymore," I reassured.

"What?" came the bewildered response.

"I rejected him," I stated firmly.

I locked eyes with Evelyn and repeated my words verbatim...

In an instant, Evelyn's face darkened, and she spoke in a sinister tone...

"You heartless person... How dare you reject my son... Your grandmother raised you without..."

Before she could finish her sentence, my expression suddenly transformed.

My voice turned cold.

"Watch your words, say whatever you want to say to me, but don't involve my grandma."

I have been under my grandma's care since I was a child, and she is everything to me.

Evelyn and Abigail were taken aback by my sudden assertiveness.

Abigail, with an air of arrogance, retorted, "You despicable person... how dare you speak to my mother in such a manner..."

As she said that, she unexpectedly reached out and shoved my shoulder.

I was wearing a designer white wedding gown, and my high heels which was high was caught off guard, I lost my balance and fell backwards...
