Meeting the Choi family

She checked the time on her wrist watch, she was thirty minutes late for the family dinner scheduled at seven. She quickly wore the first pair of heels she could find and dashed out of her room.

“This way ma’am!” Robert was right outside her room waiting to direct her to the dining hall.

“So sorry I am late, I kinda slept off just a little bit” she grinned awkwardly.

“It’s alright ma’am , I am sure Mr Choi and his family would understand ” he said.

“You know , you really don’t have to say ma’am . I am basically like a charity case here” Maggie stated . She found it uncomfortable that she was being talked to with so much respect in a stranger’s home .

“No ma’am you are Mr Choi’s guest and any guest of his must be treated with respect” he said firmly.

“You may go in now,ma’am” he pointed towards the hall .Maggie chuckled nervously , she didn’t know what to expect at this family dinner . Would his family like her? Would they eventually tell her to leave as soon as she becomes an inconvenience? Negative thoughts and questions were spinning through her head.

Mr Choi was very glad to see her as he introduced her to his family “ Maggie have a seat. This is my wife”

Maggie’s nerves got the best of her . She stood up and began to ramble “ it’s so nice to meet you Mrs Choi,your home is so beautiful .Thank You so much for letting me stay here”

“Correction! My husband, let you stay here” Mrs Choi interrupted.

Maggie could sense that Mrs Choi wasn’t happy with her staying in their home.

“Huh yes and I, I can’t thank your family enough” she stuttered.

“Hmm!” Mrs Choi scuffed. Mr Choi tried to signal his wife to not make Maggie feel unwelcomed.

Maggie sat down ready to devour the meal before her. She hadn’t eaten since she arrived and she was starving.

“Before you eat, I would like you to meet my son. He attends your school however I am not sure you would know each other” Mr Choi said to Maggie.

She wondered how his son could be in the same school as her. She would surely have met him or heard about him. Maybe he was mistaken. Whoever he was, he must be rude to be later than even her.

Mr Choi called out with a loud voice “ Son! Pls come down to meet our guest”

Maggie was getting eager to see who his son could be and how the hell did she not know him ? if he was in the same school with her,she should have known.

A gorgeous young man walked into the halls charismatically. Maggie’s eyes widened and her mouth fell open because she was so dumbfounded at who she saw.

“ You???! Mason is your ..” she stopped herself once she noticed she was making a scene.

Mason rolled his eyes at her swiftly as he sat down to eat dinner with his family. He wasn’t surprised at all because his dad had informed him earlier that she would be staying with them. He didn’t like the idea but his father held him in high regard and he liked to keep it that way.

“I see two of you are familiar with each other?” Mr Choi asked Mason curiously.

“ Not exactly father , she is one of those students that one would barely notice in school but I see her around sometimes. Probably just another girl obsessed with me” Mason replied sarcastically, trying to get on Maggie’s nerves.

He did very much achieve it. Maggie was pissed at how someone could be so stuck up and delusional. His face was breathtaking without a doubt but to hear him say such lies so confidently was crazy.

“What ? Eww I could never like a self centered arsehole like you” she scowled.

Mrs Choi was taken aback by the audacity of Maggie.How dare she speak to her son that way . Did she not know her place in this house ? Had she quickly forgotten that they were helping her?

“Enough!” Mrs Choi screeched before Maggie could utter another word.

“ I can see your mother failed to teach you manners” she stated with an evil smirk .

“You don’t get to talk about my mother that way! You may be rich and fancy but I will not allow you to soil my mother’s name in my presence!” Maggie didn’t even touch the food. She walked out of the dining hall in anger.

Mr Choi tried to call her back “ Maggie pls don’t leave”

She didn’t respond. Mr Choi turned to his wife with a disappointed face “ why would you say such a thing ? I expected more from you” shaking his head.

“ Both of you can eat together without me” he said and left. Mason didn’t expect things to go this sour. He started to feel bad because he didn’t like his father upset, especially not with him. He thought of going to apologize to Maggie but his pride was too big for such a thing. He could actually count how many times he had told someone sorry in his life. He decided he would apologize to his father later on when he was done eating.

Maggie felt very defeated. Was God playing a prank on her or was he trying to give her the punishment she thought she deserved for disobeying her mother? What kind of unfortunate coincidence was this? Why did it have to be Mason? He was one of Josh’s friends and he must have been involved in the bet game that night.

After she cooled off, she felt terrible that she didn’t ignore Mrs Choi and Mayson. She could have handled the situation with a lot more maturity for Mr Choi’s sake. At least he was nice to her.

“ Mum taught me to take responsibility for my actions. I’ll go tell Mason and Mrs Choi that I am sorry.I’ll keep myself low key and avoid trouble,that should be enough. They are actually doing me a huge favor” she reminded herself.

She walked around looking for Mason’s room but she had no idea where it was. She got to a door that was slightly open. She peeped to see if Mason was in there . She saw him in the room dressed in a towel that was tied right above his manhood.

She couldn’t stop staring at his sexy body . It was obvious through his clothes that he had a hot body but to see it bare was food for her eyes . She wondered why she hadn’t melted to the ground already but one thing for sure was that there was a river flowing down in her pants.

“Are you lost?” Mason asked as he was brushing his black wet hair.

He had seen her earlier staring from the door through the reflection of the mirror but he enjoyed being admired so he pretended like he didn’t know she was there.

She cleared her throat awkwardly “ I came to apologize for ruining dinner”

“ Oh really, let’s hear it” he said with sarcasm. He was clearly enjoying this.

“ I am sorry for ruining your family’s dinner . I promise it won’t happen again” she stated.

“ Good ! You are dismissed” he replied as he continued to brush his hair leaving Maggie standing outside.

“That’s it? Aren’t you going to apologize to me as well and I am not your maid that can be dismissed” she stated furiously. She felt embarrassed that she even came to apologize to a jerk that was in the wrong. What was the point of apologizing to a selfish person like him?

He ignored her and shut his door on her face. Maggie regretted coming to apologize. She made up her mind to avoid him in the future even though she knew it would be tough since they now live in the same house.

She stormed back to her room in anger.As she lay on the bed,her stomach began to growl.She then realized that she still hadn’t eaten anything.She was very hungry but she knew she couldn’t go back to the dining hall.She looked inside her bag for some cheese balls she had packed earlier so she could munch on it.She couldn’t afford to sleep hungry.

The next few days in the mansion were bliss for Maggie.It was still hard adjusting around but the house attendants were specifically instructed by Mr Choi to make Maggie very comfortable.She didn’t have to step out of her room whenever she was hungry, the butler was always around to bring food at anytime of the day.This made it easier for her to avoid Mayson.

It was also an opportunity for her to focus on school because her grades had been badly affected ever since her mother’s death.
