To meet the uncle

They hopped in the car and took off to the west side of the woods to the cave. The car ride was quiet and an eerie silence was filling the air because of what happened earlier and that was until Abel pinched Zadkiel’s upper arm from the backseat and Zadkiel yelped.

“I’m sorry.” Abel put up his hands in defence when Zadkiel looked back with one hand carrying his phone in the air. Zadkiel instantly understood what he was trying to say.

“It’s alright.” He turned back to look out of the window but a few seconds later, he subtly pulled out his phone from his pocket and checked it. Indeed there was a recent message from Abel. He ignored the older ones and read the last one he received.

Bro, I saw him outside the woods. Your uncle. I didn’t tell Irvin because I don’t want anything to happen to your uncle as it happened to your mother.

Zadkiel looked at him through the rear view mirror and gave him a look before turning his head down to type a message.

I told you that he isn’t lying this
