WOLVES

Meridian Water

I woke before dawn, having only managed a light nap. My heightened senses refused to let me sleep deeply in unfamiliar territory. Heading to the bathroom, I took a quick shower and dressed again in my leather attire. When I stepped out, he was already seated on the bed, his eyes immediately locking onto me. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed.

“Take a shower. We’ll be leaving,” I said while securing my daggers.

“Whatever you say, Your Highness,” he replied sarcastically, brushing past me and making me roll my eyes.

For someone so reserved and quiet most of the time, he was starting to show more of himself around me. Too much, perhaps.

After he finished his shower, we exited the way we had entered, moving through the shadows until we reached the edge of the city. I carefully drew the teleportation rune again, setting the focal point to an area east of the Umbra kingdom that wouldn’t trigger the protective barriers or alert anyone to our presence.

Meridian WaterI was running through the forest, feeling the earth beneath my feet, the wind rushing past me. I felt free. The trees seemed to cheer for me, their branches swaying with the gusts I left behind. Suddenly, my senses heightened. I stopped, scanning my surroundings, searching for the threat my instincts had detected. I inhaled deeply, trying to catch the scent. It was the same. I turned in place, looking for the source, and then I found him.He approached slowly, but behind him, others emerged, surrounding me, their growls filling the air. Then, a shrill whimper escaped his lips.He locked eyes with me, his crystalline blue gaze piercing through mine. He stopped just five steps away, but our connection was shattered when another wolf lunged at me. Before I could shift into a defensive stance, I felt arms wrap around my body and a shadow envelop me. I knew those hands—they belonged to the Prince.“Meridian!” he whispered, and I bolted upright, sitting on the bed, staring at

Renan FolderShe was there, standing before me, and I felt like the most powerless man alive. I couldn’t save her. She was Meridian, but at the same time, she wasn’t. She looked more like a demon than a wolf. She had rejected our origins. But something wouldn’t leave my mind... Even though she probably didn’t remember us, she still wore the Moon Pendant—the symbol of our pack. How? Why? Could she remember and have chosen the other side? For all these years, I waited for her. I waited for her heart to tell her that her home was here, to remind her of who she truly was. I swore to myself that the moment I saw her, I’d save her and bring her back home. And yet, I failed. She stood there, right in front of me, but it was him she was protecting. Our enemy. That repulsive mage. She shielded him, standing between us. His dark, demonic eyes stared at me, daring me to strike, knowing Meridian would defend him.Bastard, I thought, running a hand over my face.I sat upright and let out a deep br

  • The alpha's daughter predestined to his enemy    14 - Royal banquet

Meridian WaterThe meeting had been long, stretching throughout the day as the advisors debated new territories to be conquered, rebellions and uprisings of various creatures, and brought to light everything involving the eastern wing of the Kingdom of Umbra. When we finally finished, the Prince was invited to a banquet—like a royal tradition.Serving the Prince at the end of the meeting was akin to a peace treaty steeped in sin and lust. Once we got up to the room, our outfits were already laid out on the bed. I waited patiently for the prince to finish his bath, resisting the heated idea of joining him under the pretext that it would be faster. He emerged from the bathroom, and I had to take a thousand deep breaths to ignore the adrenaline surging through me at the sight of him dressed that way.The outfit was both elegant and sexy, highlighting his presence in a seductive manner while granting him his rightful place as royalty. It consisted of a dark-colored suit crafted from luxur

Meridian WaterHELLFIREI glided gracefully through the hall, following in the Prince’s footsteps with a captivating aura. As I greeted the nobles and servants present, I watched his expression—serious and impenetrable—taking in everything and everyone around him, until he finally settled into his armchair. While scanning the room, I felt lustful stares aimed my way, but I chose to ignore them. Jokes, off-color comments, and feeble attempts at flirting reached my ears in hushed tones, and I merely smiled discreetly and shook my head. I kept moving across the room, eventually positioning myself in the far corner, eyes fixed on the Prince. Our gazes locked—his, narrowed and watchful. Four naked women approached him, surrounding him with their dark, seductive presence. I suppressed a sigh of boredom, knowing full well I could deliver a far more unforgettable experience. While the women continued their performance, I discreetly picked up a glass filled with a liquid practically dripping w

Meridian WaterHIGH PRICEWe were back in the main hall, where the banquet was being served. Laughter, lively conversations, and the tempting aroma of delicious food filled the atmosphere. Everyone seemed caught up in a celebratory mood, but between the two of us, there was a palpable sexual tension hanging in the air.I did my best to appear focused on the other conversations around me, fulfilling my duty as his protector. Yet inside, I was burning. The image of him tangled up with those other women refused to leave my mind, setting my most private thoughts on fire. While jokes echoed and guests enjoyed the feast, our eyes would meet across the crowd. The game of seduction between us was as subtle as it was dangerous. He seemed to grasp the desire consuming me, and the look on his face toyed with that knowledge.Still, I kept my cool, masking the fireworks igniting within me. With every shared laugh and casual gesture, I feigned immunity to the electric charge that surrounded us.As

LET THE GAMES BEGIN – SWEENEYPrince Darlon Sweeney I don't know the exact moment I got so invested in playing this game, but now it feels like my life’s mission! When I first heard about my task, I felt pressured, wishing I could say no. But I couldn’t—my honor was on the line. Still, I never imagined it would be so damn satisfying to win over a woman.Having her eyes fixed on mine while I was fucking those whores gave me a kind of pleasure I’d never felt in my entire existence. I’ve always had everything I wanted, any woman I desired—didn’t matter what they were, I got them. But Meridian’s different. I want her. I crave her in a way I’ve never craved anyone else before. I want to show her what pleasure really is; I want her to burn in my hands while I’m going down on her like a man possessed. And I’m going to make it happen—’cause I always get what I want.“What do you want?” she asked, and I didn’t miss a beat before closing the space between us, pressing her body to mine.“You..

Meridian WaterBack in the Kingdom of Umbra, I finally felt that familiar comfort of being home once more. The return went down smoothly—totally different from the outbound trip and the ambush that still echoed in our thoughts. On the way, we kept it professional, even though our gazes crossed now and then, hinting at the sexual tension that still lingered between us.Arriving at the Kingdom, the relief was obvious. We walked the palace corridors, me trailing behind the Prince, and I could spot a subtle tension in his face. It got me curious, wondering what was going on in his head. There was a slight smell of suspicion in the air, but I couldn’t pinpoint its source. For a few seconds, something inside me stirred but quickly went back to sleep. As we neared the meeting hall, the nervousness on the Prince’s face became more apparent. Stepping inside, the nobles’ murmurs and chatter died away, like everyone was eager to see how our mission had gone. My heart pounded unevenly, even thoug

But I forced myself not to pry, even though every step I took away from that hall made something stir deep inside me. Then it happened… I took a couple steps backward, and that’s when I heard it.“Did you do what we agreed on?” the King asked, his voice laced with something like disdain.“It wasn’t that simple, Father,” the Prince replied, sounding tense, like he was doing something against his will.“How so? You mean you can’t handle something that easy?” the King asked, accusatory and dripping with sarcasm.“I’m just saying it’s gonna take more time,” the prince said. And then everything went quiet. Those words echoed in my mind, and I wanted to know what the hell they

FOUR MONTHSMeridian My eyes were fixed on the fire in front of me, but I felt nothing but cold. It was as if the shadows were creeping up on me, clinging to my skin and trying to swallow my heart. All around, the murmurs of the pack surrounded me. I could feel the glances—some suspicious, others excited. They whispered about me, as if I couldn't hear them, but I did. What was I to them? A ghost of what I once was? A relic that came back broken?Renan was a little distant; his presence was like a blade against my skin; his anger was almost tangible, but there was something else underneath, something that tormented me more than his hatred: pain.He didn't come to me.But the alpha came.I didn't look up immediately. I heard the weight of his footsteps as he approached and sat down next to me, but I continued to stare into the fire. The heat seemed as distant as all the recent events."When you were little, you were fascinated by fire." He said, his voice deep but serene. "You tried t

JOKER - SWEENEYDarlon Sweeney The room was plunged into shadows. Black candles arranged in a circle faintly lit up the room, illuminating part of my face. In my hands, an ancient armoire lay open, containing forbidden runes. What was I doing? I wasn't even sure.I took a deep breath. I began, tracing the symbols on the floor that would anchor the magic. When I had completed the ritual, I muttered a few words in an ancient language, my voice resonating through the empty hall and raising every hair on my body. In the center of the symbol, the shadows contorted to form the silhouette of a woman. Then suddenly there she and I were, in an old cell with gold bars, an old window overlooking the moon. She stared at me confused, and the dim light showed me her black eyes, making me shudder inside."Meridian…" I whispered hesitantly; she seemed fine, but when she faced me and I didn't see her beautiful eyes, I felt the pain of knowing that it was because of me, and that perhaps I had lost her

  • The alpha's daughter predestined to his enemy    42 Tell me your version.

Tell me your version.Meridian When I woke up, I was too tired to say anything. The price I needed to pay had arrived. In the mirror, I saw black eyes. The dark magic hadn't taken hold of my mind, but it had vulnerably taken hold of my body. It was taking me over little by little, and with the gaps in my memory, I felt I was getting weaker and weaker to fight. It was the price of saving the prince; I didn't die, but the dark magic remains with us, taking over our identity little by little and turning us dark. I knew the consequences.I also knew that now I could die because, in their eyes, perhaps I really wasn't the she-wolf they wanted so much. I was a dark renegade. It was Eden who entered the room, snapping me out of my daydreams and reminding me of the episode that made me black out. When I turned to face him, I saw the shock on his face. He stepped back for a second, and I just sighed."I wasn't taken." I assured him."How does it feel?" He whispered, still at a distance."That

ELEANOR SWEENEY: SWEENEYPrince Darlon Night fell over the palace, but the tranquility it promised seemed like a distant dream. The main hall was full of whispers and laughter, all directed at the new guest: Eleanor Sweeney, my distant cousin. Tall, imposing, and with a smile that seemed to contain secrets, she had arrived with the air of someone who already owned everything, even what wasn't hers yet.I watched her from afar, sitting in an ornate armchair near the fireplace. My father, always calculating, radiated satisfaction as he introduced Eleanor to some advisors and nobles. She was accurately what he had hoped for: a symbol of the union between two powerful magical and dark lineages. A tool for his expansion, a means of conquering territories without a rebellion. But for me, she was just another piece on Fondark Sweeney's board. And I, the other piece that he moved as he pleased."Cousin!" Eleanor's voice was sweet, but there was a cold determination in it. She walked over to m

TRUTH IS A RELATIVE CONCEPTMeridian Water. The moon was high, illuminating with a thin glow that seemed to reflect the state of my mind, while the shadows tried to take hold of me. Everything was getting more and more intense. I wish I could have chosen to be in my room. But I was forced to go down to the counting moon. The little boy, Eden, had already been talking at the top of his lungs about what the celebration was like, and I was so tired that I just let him talk and pretend to be interested. Maybe he'd tell me how to escape. My head was spinning with so much information, and when I was finally able to breathe. I found myself leaning against a rock, and if I wasn't mistaken. I caught a glimpse of Renan sitting on it earlier, with Lauren. He had disappeared.I took a deep breath, trying to maintain my posture and control. Not to give in.Don't give in.Don't give in.“There's no point in fighting the inevitable, Meridian.” I muttered to myself, feeling the weight of those words

39 - I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE ANYMORERenan FolderI sat in that clearing, unable to move, stuck replaying every detail of the training session with Meridian in my mind. Tonight was the Full Moon Gathering—a night where we all sat around the fire, listening to the stories of our ancestors. It was supposed to be a beautiful night, but I couldn’t focus on any of it. My mind was too full of intrusive thoughts. The clearing had been decorated, and it looked beautiful. The moon was already creeping into the space, and I used to find comfort in its light, but tonight, it felt more like a spotlight, exposing the parts of me I preferred to keep buried.People were starting to arrive, but I kept my distance, leaning against the same rock where I had once talked to Meridian before she was taken. Lauren appeared beside me, carrying a jar of flowers. She always had this lightness about her, as if nothing could really shake her, but her eyes told a different story.“So…” she started, setting th

38 - I AM NOT ONE OF YOUMeridian WaterThe walk back to my room was long and heavy with silence. That last exchange of glances still hung between us, thickening the air with every step. When we finally arrived, he opened the door and stood at the entrance like a sentinel."Get in," he said, his voice mechanical, devoid of any emotion."Back to the prisoner quarters," I mocked."That’s what you are," he shot back, his eyes sparking with a fury that hadn’t been there before."How cute." I smirked. "Feels good, doesn’t it? I’d love to see all this power when I’m not vulnerable!" I crossed my arms as I stepped inside."If you were as good as you think, you wouldn’t be here," he replied, a cynical smile tugging at his lips. "Honestly, for someone with such a reputation, you were terrible.""Easy to say when I wasn’t in a position to fight. I’d love a match—just you and me," I challenged, masking how much his words stung."I’d love to end this ridiculous charade. But unfortunately, I can’t

37 – THAT SOUNDS... PATHETIC!Meridian WaterThe air around us was charged, electric, as I followed Renan down the narrow path. Every step he took was an annoying reminder that I was in enemy territory, under the escort of a man who seemed eager to put me in my place."Don't try to run," he said, not even bothering to look back at me. His voice was calm, but there was something about his tone that irritated me to my core."Oh, right, because I'd be dumb enough to try to escape unarmed in a forest full of wolves. Have you actually heard of my reputation?" I shot back, laced with sarcasm. He stopped abruptly, forcing me to halt before I could crash into his back. When he turned to face me, his expression was ice-cold."Yeah, I’ve heard plenty about the blood and chaos you’ve left behind. Wow, what a brilliant woman." His words dripped with sarcasm."Thanks," I said with a smirk. The muscle in his jaw twitched, and for a second, I thought he was either going to lunge at me or throw some

36: NOTHING CAN BE SAVEDMeridian The surrounding air was heavy, as if shadows were weighing on my shoulders. Everything seemed too loud, and I felt suffocated inside that room with only the window to give me a bit of free air.The sound of dry leaves being crushed under boots rang in my ears; there were creatures roaming the forest; nothing about the place made me feel comfortable. I felt like an intruder; the smell of the damp earth, the sound of the distant streams, and the occasional howl—everything gave me an uneasy feeling…The sound of the door opening drew my attention, and then he appeared, making me narrow my eyes. What was he doing there?“Hi…” Her voice came out low and longing, her blue eyes sparkling.I didn't answer. He stopped a few meters from me, his jaw clenched, his hands in his pockets, I guessed in a tight fist. As if he were trying to contain something that was boiling up inside him. His presence was as suffocating as that room and reminded me of how vulnerable
