His last remark threw me away. He had called me brother and, deep down within me, it felt nice. I am too proud to acknowledge that out loud, but it struck a chord I didn't know existed. The reality sank in faster than a lightning bolt. I have a brother.

I know I found out about him about a week ago, but seeing him face to face, reading the expression in his eyes, which, by the way, are the same as mine and mom's, then when he approached close to me and called me brother, my reality revolved around the fact that it was as if a dream from my childhood had become true.

My childhood was not an easy one, and I usually longed to have a sibling to share my time with. I didn't care if it was a boy or a girl, but, of course, being a hyperactive kid, I longed for a brother to do mischief with. That never happened.
