85. The news
It had been a couple of days since that night, and Emma was slowly drifting back into normalcy. Her heart still stung at the bitter reminder of it, but she was growing immune to it slowly. Lately, that was how everything else in her life was turning out to be. Day by day, she was getting accustomed to the fact that this could perhaps be how the rest of her life would span out. Surprise after surprise until nothing got to her anymore.
Having awakened early today, she decided to go for a walk to keep her mind off things. As she stepped into the backyard, she noticed that there were numerous men posted outside the house. There were normally five to six men, but today, the number seemed to have increased to at least a double.
