Chapter 5 The Meeting

Overlooking his window at his city penthouse  was the Central Park.  This high end residential  building is one of the massive properties of the Sanders family, and  developed by  The Sanders Development Company to which he currently   is the CEO.

He was set to have a meeting with Oliver  and Lucas  together with the private detective  they hired to get information about Meghan.

They are expected to arrive in an hour so he still have time to play with the wench  sprawled in his bed. He can’t remember bringing the girl  but who cares. They both had a goodtime. Brazilian , he surely guessed  right. With all those enhancements, he can’t be wrong. Totally the opposite of the Asian he had as company the other night. Asians are mostly skinny with narrow hips and humble breast. This one grew robustly  at curves  more than necessary.

When he had satisfied himself he quickly get up, put on his robe took some hundred bills from a drawer then threw them  at her in the bed without even looking at her. “ I have guests in few minutes, I want you out by then” he told her as he walk out the room.

The guests arrived on time and Raymond  had them follow him in his office. The newcomer traced his gazed at the entirety of the living room. Everything about it was grand and rich. The walls were graced with paintings you can only acquire through auction where you can bid and show off  . Some corners  were also decorated with artifacts possibly from different countries. As if in a moment he was swallowed up by overwhelming wealth that he can’t fathom possible. And then he looked at his feet, wondering if was he even worthy of stepping on the marbled floor.

In his office, same to be said. Flawless.

“Is he the one?” Raymond started, referring to the heavy set man with them. The man is plump with round belly that comes ahead than any parts of his body. He wondered how many hamburgers had it digested in his life while at stake out. He glanced back at Oliver with disapproving stare.

Understanding the look in Raymonds face Oliver approached him.

“where did you find this BigMac  looking man here? He is a walking  cholesterol”

“Rest easy Raymond, I’ve researched his work. We can rely on him. He has no boundaries. He does his work and does what he is told. No question” assured Oliver.

Turning back to the other guest, “ Mr. Bruno Wright,  I assume you already know Mr. Raymond Sanders here”

“Yes of course. It’s a pleasure to meet you sir”. As he reached out for a handshake.

“Let’s get down to business, shall we?” ignoring the hand. He went back to sit at his desk.

“What’s the word, Bruno?” Lucas started to ask with impatience. “Any news in the case of missing Meghan Hamilton?”

The private detective started his report.  “ Considering that we have no recent photo of her, it is a little difficult to track her. What we only have is her photo from fifteen years ago. So I started at the shelter if  any of the elderlies there if they happen to have contact or remember her. And ask also of the homeless. As well as newspaper stands.”

“So far what are your findings?”

“I need to have some follow up since one elderly homeless seemed to remember her. She said,’beautiful and fair but with empty eyes’, that is how she described her.  She said that she will not forget her name. it was Meghan. That during those days she looked like a broken angel.  She seemed to have a liking of Meghan for she keeps blabbering on how she looked like. But said that Meghan never stayed long in one place. She comes and go without making acquaintances.  But there was one..”

“What?! Who?!” the trio now are anxious.

“She said that there was only one man she trust to be with. But she seldom see him now. He also a homeless in his sixty's. that is why I am following up.  He is our only lead to the subject.”

“You’ll have to set up a team to   every corner of this  city. Find that man at all cost.” Oliver rose from his seat.

“I want your men to observe the train station, the shelter and you must find the man . When you find him  observe him all day and night. She may contact  him again.” Raymond told the private detective.

“Round the clock  surveillance ?  that will cost you arm and leg”. Bruno said as he was about to bring out a  pocket size calculator from his ridiculous little shoulder bag, but he didn’t get that far.

“Don’t you dare. You insult me” Raymond barked as he grab something on his desk and about to throw it at him.  But Oliver was quick to stop him.

“Raymond,  no! not that one!” Oliver warned.

Raymond look at what he grabed , it was his wristwatch- Philippe Patek . he immediately put it on then sit back trying to calm down. “Don’t you discuss money as though it is something you know anything about? How much do you think  Oliver  and I made or  Lucas spends on his gambling why we are sitting here discussing your pathetic hourly wages?” as he picked up his fountain pen and threw at him. He aimed for the man’s eyes but missed.

Lucas went to pick up the pen. “wow. I can probably use this for my gambling” he said jokingly, referring to the Mont Blanc fountain pen.

After the detective left. Raymond questioned Oliver more about the man. “Are you sure he knows what he is doing? Does he have an idea how we wanted Meghan to be found in the earliest  possible time ? make sure he will not give us trouble.”

“Leave that to me ,Raymond.” Oliver said looking at Raymond with a challenged look. “By the way, don’t forget we are set to have a pheasant hunt this coming Friday.”

They smiled at each other with excitement like bloodlust giving them life.
