I hesitated a moment before answering, “Humans take longer to heal physically, but the emotional recovery can be about the same. We, as werewolves, have a tendency to hold on to emotional baggage. We like revenge much more than healing. I think they will be okay as long as they deal with the problem instead of ignoring it or burying it with alcohol or drugs.” Blaise nodded, “I know that’s easy for humans to do. It’s too hard for us to get high or drunk. We don’t usually even try.” I chuckle, “Please keep it that way.”

After saying goodnight, Elliot and I went to bed. I was so tired that night, I undressed and plopped into bed, falling asleep before my head hit the pillow. I slept so hard, I never heard or felt Calista get in our bed, but when I woke up, she was sprawled out between us. I laughed, “I guess dad couldn’t resist your puppy eyes again.” Elliot laughed, “She had a bad dream. How could I say no?” I giggled, “I don’t blame you one bit.”
