After a particularly steamy shower and getting dressed, I started to walk downstairs and stopped at Calista’s door. I heard Linden talking with Calista. She was sobbing as she asked, “Do you have to go?” Linden replied, “I miss my dad, little one. I know you know how that feels.” Calista sobbed, “I do. You’re lucky you can go back to him. I’m lucky I have a mom and dad now who love me just as much they did.” I put my hand over my mouth as tears formed in my eyes as Linden continued, “I can come back to visit any time. All you have to do is use the family mind link. Just tell me.” She smiled, “Okay. I can do that.”

I chose this moment to peek my head in, “Are you okay, sweetie?” She smiled with a tear still lingering in her eye, “I’m okay. I know he needs to go home, but I wish this was his home.” I sat on her bed and put her on my lap, “I know, sweetie. He will come back occasionally. We might even get to video call with him, and you know he’ll be here for your birthday part

Linden was out of breath when he teleported to our dining room, “Calista, come here.” Calista’s eyes went wide and she ran to her Uncle Linden, “What’s the matter? Are you okay?” Linden wrapped his arms around her and he sobbed. Calista’s arms wrapped around his neck and she was patting his back as she tried to comfort him, “I’m sorry. Are you okay, Uncle Linden?” When Linden finally settled down to the point where he could speak coherently, he let go of Calista and sat at the table with the rest of us. Calista stood in her chair and held her hands up, “Everybody, STOP! Uncle Linden! Answer my Question!” We all raised our eyebrows at her and Elliot chuckled, “Uncle Linden, please answer her question. She is genuinely worried about you.” Linden put Calista on his lap and snuggled her as he replied, “I’m okay now. If it hadn’t been for this little girl’s warning, I wouldn’t be.” We all furrowed our brows at him as I asked, “What do you mean?” Linden sighed, “I teleported there, and my d

Selena sat next to me on a log as we looked over a golden pond and continued, “Linden’s stepmother is not going to stop until he is dead. She refuses to allow a child that is not hers in her family. She will not rest until she has her way.” I asked, “Will she try to kill him here at my home?” Selene replied, “Only if his father brings her to see him. She does not know where he lives now.” I sighed, “Good. I will make sure he knows this. I also know that we will have to let his dad know that she is not welcome at our home.” I sighed, “I guess this just means life still hasn’t settled down. I’m not so sure it will. Oh wait! How is this thing with Linden’s mom going to affect my babies?” She smiled, “Your babies will be fine. They have too many protectors to allow anything to happen to them. So, now that I have told you all that I need to tell you, I will let you sleep, my child. Just rest for tonight. Life will resume when you wake.” I woke the next morning in our bed, with Elliot’s arm

We all looked at the woman and, on instinct, I yelled, “Selene! A little help here?” Selene appears in front of the woman and yells in a commanding voice, “Anna Mae Cole! STAND DOWN! Your mate’s son is destined for great things. You will not interfere!” Linden’s mom stopped and dropped to her knees, “Moon Goddess! But he is not my child! I cannot have him in my family!” Selene argues, “Then leave! I will make sure your mate gets another mate. You, however, do not deserve another one!” Linden’s mother lowered her head, “I will allow him to live and I will leave him alone. Please, allow me to keep my mate.” Selene snarls, “I have seen into your heart. You will never allow any of them to live peacefully, and I will not have that! You do not deserve to live.” With that, Selene drags her outside and rips her head off. Then she turns to Linden, “I’m so sorry it came to this, Linden. She followed your father here the first night you were back. We were all too late in agreeing not to let her

I laughed, “We rescued her from Alpha Johnathon. He killed her parents and her brother to get to her. Has he been tried by the council yet?” Beta Seth nodded, “He was only in the dungeon for two days. The council found him guilty and he was beheaded for what he did to that sweet little girl and her family.” I smiled and nodded as another group of kids appeared with Max and Blaise. I noticed Blaise was starting to look a little deflated and I asked, “Hey, Blaise, are you okay?” He replied, “Yeah, I’m okay. My heart is just a little broken right now. You aren’t seeing everything we are. It’s not a pleasant sight.” I asked, “Do you need a break? I can take over for you.” He shook his head, “We’re taking turns with teleporting and using magic. Don’t worry. You have the dream team on this. You just take care of the kids we bring in.” I nodded, “You make sure to take care of yourself too.” Blaise and Max teleported back and we took this group of kids to the medical room. Beta Seth furrowed his brow, “What do you mean?” I smiled as I held up my index finger in a motion to tell him to watch, then I turned to my daughter, “Calista, can I ask your help with something?” She skipped over to me and wrapped her arms around my neck. I kissed her cheek and hugged her tightly, “Sweetie, some of these kids are having a hard time talking about what happened and what pack they are from. Do you think you could get them to speak with us or maybe tell you what pack they’re from?” Calista smiled, “I would love to help. It makes me feel good to do these things for you.” Beta Seth smiled, “Thank you, little one. You are so strong for having such a little body.” Calista approached the first child, “Hi. My name is Calista. What’s yours?” The little brown-haired, blue-eyed boy answered, “I’m Cody.” Calista empathized, “I know what you’re going through. Princess Elisa isn’t my real mom. My old Alpha killed my parents and my brother and kidnapped me. He kept me in a room unde

I replied, “I believe we have. Can you bring Prince Aidinth and Princess Chloe with you when you come out?” He chuckled, “Princess Elisa, you really do have quite the talent.” I shrugged, “We aren’t done yet, and I’m afraid I may not have saved them all. I will fill you all in on what happened to them when you get here.” King Uther agreed and ended the call. I put my phone down and looked at the wall again. I walked into the first medical room and found that the little boy who couldn’t walk had been paralyzed. Apparently, he was one of the children who had been thrown. I conjured a wheelchair for him and wheeled him into the living room to sit with the rest of the children. He smiled at me, “Thank you so much, Princess. You are so nice!” I chuckled as I turned to walk away, “It was the least I could do for such a sweet boy!” I heard Calista and Beta Seth talking with him as I walked back into the conference room. I smiled knowing this boy would be okay as long as he has a loving home.

Elliot sighed, “I know, my tiny mate. It’s sickening to me too.” I lean into him and break down for the first time since we started this rescue. I look at the clock and realize we have been at this for almost 24 hours. I gasped, “You would’ve been so proud of our daughter. I think it was after the second group of kids was teleported here, Calista had been in bed, and she heard a couple of the boys crying. She ran downstairs and asked me why I didn’t wake her, then she started singing and calming them.” Elliot smiled, “That’s my girl.” I told him, “Some of the kids were too traumatized to speak, so she was able to get them to speak to Beta Seth about what happened to them. She even held some of their hands while they talked to him.” He smiled, “I’m so proud of her.” I informed him, “I told her to eat some lunch and go take a nap.” I was about to eat some lunch when my mom walked into the conference room, “Hon, why don’t you get some lunch and a nap? I looked around, “Is Seth in the other building or is he taking a well-deserved break?” My mom replies, “He and Alpha Nico switched places. Alpha Nico is in the building with the deceased. He is trying to see if he can spare some parents from being in there. He wants to try to identify as many as he can. He also called other Alphas to be in there to see if they can identify any of them before subjecting the parents to this.” I lowered my gaze, “This is such a horrific situation.” King Uther sighs, “I know, hon, but think of all the kids we saved!” I nod in agreement. One of the kids in a wheelchair approaches us, “Princess, thank you for helping us. You saved more kids than the ones who passed.” I kneel down to his level, “Thank you for telling me this. I am so happy to hear that. What is your name?” The little boy replies, “My name is Joey. My mom and dad are on their way here to get me. I know they will want to talk to you too.” I hug Joey, “I am so happy to meet you, Joey. I am so

  • The Witch's Window   Epilogue

Twenty Years Later I’m sitting in my favorite spot with my mate sitting behind me in my favorite lounge chair. We are both drinking our morning coffee as two mountain lions walked up to the deck. They both bowed to us, and I smiled, “Good morning, Dusty. Good morning, Lilly.” Dusty found his mate in his own pack on his sixteenth birthday. We had a party for him that night and he introduced her to all of us. She is such a sweet girl I really couldn’t wish for anything better for him. Robert and Katie are so proud of them. They had four children and they only have two still at home. I am so proud of the parents they are. The two children that have already found their mates and left are absolutely awesome. Linden found his mate and decided to build another house close to our land. His mate understands that he needs to be close to family and his siblings are all he has left. His father passed away when my triplets were only two years old. It was an extremely hard time for him. We made s

Robert and Katie laughed and shook their heads as Robert smiled, “Now that would make me rethink my choice to be a parent.” I laughed, “I think she did.” Just then, Calista ran out onto the deck, “Good morning, mom.” She sat in my lap and hugged me tightly. I turned her around and introduced her to them. She smiled, “It’s very nice to meet my Uncle Dusty’s parents. I love him so much!” Katie smiled, “I’m so glad you love him, Calista.” I asked Calista, “Is anyone else up?” She smiled, “Dad is up with Raze and Eva.” I laughed, “Is Willow awake yet?” She shook her head, “She was sleeping peacefully when I came out.” I smiled, “Thank you. I guess you would like some breakfast, huh?” She smiled and shook her head shyly. I smiled, “Okay.” Then I turned to Robert and Katie, “Would you like to join us?” They agreed and followed me and Calista into the house. I cooked a big breakfast and had it all laid on the table. As soon as it was all prepared, it sounded like a herd of horses coming down

When Taylor was done feeding the boys, Evan and I took the boys in the living room to visit with everyone else. Uncle Dax was the first to hold out his arms. Evan smiled as he held out the first baby boy, “You are now holding Cain, and the boy mom is holding is Dylan.” After Doctor Harper was done with Taylor, I walked with her to another guest room in the house and smiled, “I remember how all I wanted after all that was to take a shower. Is that what you would like?” She replied, “Definitely.” I smiled, “You go ahead and take a shower. That shower has a bench in it so you can sit. I would highly recommend using it. I will get you some clothes.” I opened the closet door and found a perfect pair of soft sweatpants and a t-shirt that looked lusciously oversized. I grabbed a pair of underwear and a bra and put them on the bed. When Taylor walked out of the bathroom in a towel, I asked, “Feeling better?” She smiled, “That did feel better.” I got you a comfy pair of sweats and an oversized

Seven months later… Taylor and Evan are staying in the guest house with dad and Linden. Taylor wants me to be there for her when she gives birth. She’s afraid Evan is going to pass out. Evan agrees with her, but he still wants to be there for her and to see his babies being born. He swears we will try his hardest to stay conscious. We all laugh and Elliot smiles, “I don’t blame you, dude. I almost passed out a few times.” We were all eating breakfast one morning when Taylor gasped, “Oh dear. I’m pretty sure I’m in labor.” I smiled, “Evan, you need to be keeping track of how far apart the contractions are. Let us know when they are around five minutes apart. Taylor, you need to tell him when each contraction starts and ends. Okay?” She nodded in reply and I called Doctor Harper. Doctor Harper said she would start driving here now, so we will be ready. Wow. The whole family showed up! Within 2 hours, Elliot and I were sitting in the living room with dad, my mom, Evan’s parents, Aidint

I laughed, “I understand completely.” Calista smiled, “I can sing for you, Uncle Dusty.” He looked at me and I nodded, “Trust me… You want to hear this.” Dusty nodded, “I would love to hear you sing.” Calista started singing the most beautiful and relaxing song I have ever heard and Dusty looks so relaxed and happy. When the song ends, Dusty chuckles, “Calista, you are awesome!” She smiles proudly, “I’m a mermaid/wolf hybrid and an omega. My mom and dad rescued me from my old alpha. He kept me in a tiny room under the stairs in his packhouse. He was planning on marking and mating me. They rescued me just in time.” Dusty asked, “What happened to your family?” She looked down at her hands in her lap, “My old alpha killed my parents and my brother. My parents hid me, but I saw him rip my brother’s head off. But I have mom and dad now and I have the best family ever. I have LOTS of uncles and grandparents and now I have a brother and SISTERS! I really am a lucky girl.” Dusty pulled her clo

One week later… Mom spent the night with us last night because mommy, daddy and sister all needed to get a full night of sleep. We were all starting to get quite cranky. I don’t think I was ever more thankful for my mom when she offered to stay overnight. After feeding the babies at eight pm, I went straight to bed. I think Calista went to bed before I did and Elliot was waiting for me in bed when I got there. We all slept like rocks and I didn’t wake up the entire night. It was my best night’s sleep since the night before I gave birth to all of them. Don’t get me wrong, I love all three of my newborns. But they are definitely little sleep robbers! Ladies, let me give you a bit of advice. When other women tell you to sleep when they sleep, LISTEN! Trust me, it makes perfect sense. If the things you need to do can wait, do it. They have been wearing us all out. Raze has an insatiable appetite. We were at the grocery store yesterday, and a little older lady heard Raze’s hungry screams.

I held her close to me, “I don’t care how many little girls we give birth to; you will always be our baby girl. You just won’t be the only one anymore. Okay?” She smiled as she snuggled closer to me, “I like that idea.” I smiled, “Me too.” Then I asked her, “What do you think of being a big sister now that you’ve seen your new brother and sisters?” She giggled, “I am going to have so much fun. Especially with Eva! She’s like me!” I started yawning and Elliot sighed, “Are you ready to get some sleep, love?” I shrugged, “Yeah, I better sleep while I can. Doctor Harper left some formula on the counter with the bottles. There are plenty of diapers in the nursery next to our room. Would you please turn on the baby monitor before you come to bed?” Elliot smiled, “We have plenty of help, love.” I reminded him, “Doctor Harper told me to alternate between formula and breast milk. Next feeding, you all can feed them, but please wake me to feed them when they wake to eat after that.” Mom nodded,

I suddenly felt fear wash over me and I was almost paralyzed. What if I’m a horrible mom? I mean I would never do what Dahlia did to me, but what if I don’t develop that mother-child bond? I’m scared to death but then Elliot leans to comfort me and says in low voice into my ear, “You’re going to be fine, love. You are nothing but kind and nurturing. You’ve worked wonders with Calista. You have nothing to fear, baby. You also have tons of help at your fingertips.” I smiled as he kissed my forehead, “You always know exactly what I need to hear. I love you so much.” With that, I felt my stomach get tight and I lifted my torso to bear down, pushing to help our first baby through the birth canal. Doctor Harper encouraged, “That was a really good one, Elisa. Need another push.” Another contraction hit and I started pushing again. I was pushing and felt a sudden reduction in pressure. Doctor Harper smiled, “Here is your prince!” Our little boy started wailing as his father cut the cord, “He’

I sat in the living room with my feet up with dad, Elliot, Evan, Linden and Max. I was trying to relax, but my back started hurting. The ache started moving around to my belly and I could feel my belly squeezing tightly. It wasn’t so painful that it was alarming, it just really caught my attention. I raised my shirt to expose my belly as another contraction hit. As my belly contracted, I tapped Elliot to get his attention. As we both looked down at my belly, Elliot gasped as the babies were clearly visible as my belly squeezed around them. He asked, “That looks like it hurts so bad, and you are just sitting there looking at it. You are tougher than I am.” I laughed, “My back hurts worse than my belly.” Doctor Harper walked in, “Don’t get used to it. It won’t stay this way.” I looked up at her, smiling, “It will all be worth it. I can’t wait to meet them.” Doctor Harper smiled, “You are going to be such a great mother.” I asked, “Do you think a numbing spell would be a good idea?” She
