VALERIE'S POV I stood there clenching my fists in anger as I watched her stupid blonde hair disappear from sight and out of my yard, taking with her that poisonous looking maid. The entrance gates jammed with a clicking sound, signalling it had been locked before I turned on my heels, storming back inside. "Let's go inside Nanny," I called out, not bothering to spare a glance her way because I knew she would be right behind me.My strides were brisk and purposeful as I headed straight for the kitchen to pour myself a drink, cause the Lord knows I needed it!Who would've thought my day will get so ruined? Who would've thought Charlotte would confess such evil deeds right in my face! It was like she was daring me, putting up a show... just to spite me. To show she had the upper hand! She had done so much evils and did not once get caught, noticed or even suspected! That was why she was so bold and careless to admit her crimes, isn't it?She feels I wouldn't be able to do anything abou
Valerie POV "Good morning ma'am!" A voice greeted cheerily the minute I stepped my foot out of my room, I hadn't even shut my door yet before she greeted. Clearly startled, by the sudden greeting, I turned to it's direction and saw it was one of the maids Papa sent over let. We shared a small laugh once our eyes met, partly because of how startled i was. I almost dropped my bag, "Good morning Gloria, sleep well?" I asked, still smiling She nodded eagerly and resumed her chores while I headed downstairs. Taking my time so as not to slip with my heels, Miles has a habit of always stepping out of his room while brushing his teeth, so most times he ended up leaving drops of water everywhere he goes during that time and the stairs were no exception. My heels clicking the steps must've been so loud cause by the time I took the last flight of stairs, I had quite an audience waiting for me at the foot of the stairs. A proud looking Miley, dazed Miles and a not so happy Nanny Beth,
VALERIE'S POV The drive to the office didn't take so long that in about 40 minutes time I was already inside De Hernandez Dreamz building and heading for my office while nodding to the series of greetings I received.I was seriously considering changing my office or at least the route to my office, because the amount of greetings and attention I get each time I came in was alarming. It was almost as if everyone knew when exactly I was coming and position themselves to be in my face. I get it though, everyone was currying favour and all but then, I would love to keep my schedules private. Who knows, I might end up seeing something that I wouldn't see on a normal day because they were not expecting me.I should talk to Rob about it. Speaking of Rob, I didn't see him in his office as I passed to mine.I was about to wonder where he went until I opened the door of my office and an all too familiar scent of a coco cologne hit my nostrils, it could only belong to him. I took a deep inhale
VALERIE'S POV "That's kidnapping Nana," I replied with a light smile, "But what do you mean that I'm going to the event, I don't remember informing you i was attending. And as a matter of fact, I won't be attending but why are you even attending in the first place? You don't have a child that goes there""What do you mean you're not attending?" She asked sharply, "All parents whose child attend that school will be present. All of them, this is the best time to mingle with the parents of your children's friends. Get to know them and see what sort of people they are, whether to cut them off from your children's lives or get closer to them. Believe it or not, you will need people with kids around the age of yours. It helps I tell you, take it from me." She explained, her words giving me a new dimension of the whole event."Besides, there will be a lot of shows and activity presented by the kids. I'm sure your kids are excited already, you better take your ass there! And besides, if you
HUDSON'S POV "You're really not going to call her, Boss?" James asked for the third time today after I told him to stop asking how the phone call with - You know who- went.I didn't even want to mention her name at this point, I felt too foolish to do it. Ashamed even, cause there I was, so busy making plans to be meeting a woman that didn't give a shit about me while my daughter was dieing in silence, all alone.I was so preoccupied with thoughts about Her that I didn't realize my daughter was struggling that bad. I mean, I knew something was up with Aby but I didn't know what exactly.I felt like it was something her mom could talk to her about it but Charlotte had to be the most dumb, self centered and foolish mother I had ever come across!I didn't even realize that there were mother's like Charlotte until we had Aby.But thinking about it all with a clear mind, we really were bad parents. Both myself and Charlotte. We were horrible parents, all caught up in our own lives and de
HUDSON'S POV I took a moment to actually look at her though, her short black hair that was styled in some sort of beach wave kind of thing as it hanged loosely around her shoulders, coupled with her complete white outfits, a top & trouser, and topped off with a cream colored shawl wrapped around her shoulders. She looked modest and at the same time elegant, despite her age. Only Mom could pull off such a look, she looked good."So my end point is that you two are a team, no one can afford to loose the other player. At least not right now, not now that Abrille has this condition. You need to -"So she told you that, huh?" I interrupted calmly, my gaze fixed on her features to make sure I read every one of the emotions that crossed her face. She pursed her lips at my question and swallowed gently before speaking, "Yes, she told me. She-"Did she also tell you her role in all of this?" I cut her off again, adjusting on my seat as i got serious. It was high time I put an end to this conv
VALERIE'S POV "Are you sure about this, Valerie?" Nana asked for at least the third time today. "You haven't practiced for a very long time, plus you had kids too. Don't you think this is a bit of a stretch?" Anyone could sense the worry in her tone and I totally understood her concerns but I had already made up my mind to do this so I must see it to the end."Which is why I'm here practicing, isn't it Nana?" I responded and paused to catch my breath for sometime. Sweat dripped down the side of my face, tiny baby hairs that escaped the bun on my head glued to my forehead from all the rigorous bodily movements I had subjected myself to for the past 40 minutes at a stretch. This was probably the 5th round of dancing that I had done since I arrived at Nana's estate this morning and girl! I had never felt so alive!Don't get me wrong, my lungs were literally killing right now, my throat was all patchy and begging for even a the smallest drop of water but still, I had this insane feeling
VALERIE POV“Goodness! I have no idea which rapid dog bit my son that day when he married you.” I clenched my fingers unconsciously around the damn papers while my “dear” mother-in-law rained insults on me.“Not only did you stop him from marrying someone decent like Charlotte, you also went ahead to hurt her and my grandkids!”“I never pushed her! Sh-”“You’re a monster!” she yelled venomously. I took shaky steps backwards in disbelief. Me? A monster!?“Aren’t you going to say anything?!” I spat angrily at Hudson, the very man who was supposed to be my husband.“You mean defend your lies?” He questioned; his expression was cold and mocking.“How about you tell everyone how you secretly stopped donating blood for Charlotte, huh?” I froze at his words. How did he find out? That was just two months ago.I had been feeling weak a lot and missed going one time, and the second time I went for it, I found out I was pregnant. I was finally pregnant after trying so hard for three years.Surel
