VALERIE'S POV

I walked in, head held high as my heels clicked against the tiled floors. Everyone immediately stood up as a sign of respect, their tension filled eyes focused on my every movement and I basked in the attention.

From the corner of my eye, I noticed Aunt Barbara and Patricia never stood up. As expected, no surprise there at all but what actually got me was the account manager beside Barbara, representing De Hernandez Made-to-Order Furniture Co.

He never stood up either, rather he remained nonchalantly seated. Pompously looking even as he eyed the other account manager beside Patricia, trying to force him to sit down.

The young man was skeptical at first,but after a death glare from Barbara, he immediately sat down.
