VALERIE'S POV

My encounter with Hudson at the hospital aside, the day did go smoothly. Better than I expected even.

First, it was confirmed Papa's health wasn't threatened with any serious alignment or worse. It was just a case of the lack of some vital vitamins a person of his age should have, nothing a few tablets couldn't handle.

And even at that, he was still strong enough to lift those chubby triplets of mine. I can't even begin to explain to you how relieving the sight of all four of them strong and happy made me.

The kids finally got to meet their great grandpa. The joy on their faces when he paid for their toys and ordered more food was simply exceptional.

Mind you, I buy them toys, we go out to have fun and all but it just wasn't the same. They were different, it was almost like they were glad it was him that got them.

I sighed and put down my phone on the bedside table before sinking back to the soft linen of my bed.
