Chapter 37 VALERIE'S POV I walked in, head held high as my heels clicked against the tiled floors. Everyone immediately stood up as a sign of respect, their tension filled eyes focused on my every movement and I basked in the attention. From the corner of my eye, I noticed Aunt Barbara and Patricia never stood up. As expected, no surprise there at all but what actually got me was the account manager beside Barbara, representing De Hernandez Made-to-Order Furniture Co. He never stood up either, rather he remained nonchalantly seated. Pompously looking even as he eyed the other account manager beside Patricia, trying to force him to sit down. The young man was skeptical at first, but after a death glare from Barbara, he immediately sat down. The other account managers from different subsidiaries looked on with apprehension at my dear aunties open display of disregard. But instead of giving them what they wanted I pretended not to notice and took my seat at the head of the ta
VALERIE'S POV The whole table went silent. No one daring to speak for anyone again, even Patricia looked properly shaken up. She was most definitely not expecting me to know about the secret account.I was yet to locate the account though, but currently, knowing it's existence was just enough. My eyes landed on the account manager that didn't stand when I came in. "How about you?"He held my gaze for a few minutes and turned to glance at Barbara, as though asking for permission. She leaned in to whisper something in his ear like a four year old, something Mily would do. I snorted a laugh at the thought and gently relaxed on my seat, stirring my coffee a bit. Everyone watched in anticipation, waiting for the inevitable and finally Aunt Barbara spoke up, "We've reviewed our accounts and they are perfect. No discrepancies, you can check them out yourself." A loud bang sounded on the table causing everyone to jump as she dropped a load of files. "Rob," she called, "Give it her"I let
VALERIE'S POV I went back to my office after the meeting and started working on the stack of documents on my desk. There were so much jobs to be done. Tons of designs to approve, projects to conclude, project sites to visit and lots more. And also, let's not forget the Sky Castle project as well- Hudson's project.Argh, I don't even want to think about it. That project alone was heavy duty and it's excellence being tied to Hudson made it all the more worse.I could feel an ache coming on just from the thought of it. I sighed, putting down my pen to relax on my soft ass chair. "It's moments like this that I'm grateful I'm rich." I mean, imagine thinking about handling all these workloads without the comfort of this leather seat, "Just terrible!"I stayed like that for few minutes, enjoying the silence before finally repositioning myself to resume work. "I better get started with concrete plans for Hudson's building. The last I want is that dick head having a reason to run his mouth
VALERIE'S POV After having a light lunch at the Red Bites just like Rob had 'instructed', I headed home. There wasn't anything urgent that needed my attention at the office anyway, and besides I had already dealt with at least half of the documents on my desk. Surely, a half day off wouldn't stop the company from running now, can it? So therefore, here I was tied up in a white apron preparing dinner for the kids. It has been quite a while since I made them dinner myself, "Should I slice the vegetables, ma'am?" one of the new help asked. I turned from the boiling pot to check behind me at the sound of her voice. She quickly pointed to the bowl of carrots and "oh, I haven't done that? I will get right to it don't worry." "Please ma'am," she insisted, her voice calm but still held a sense of urgency in them. "I was sent here to work and help out. If the chairman finds out I'm doing the opposite then... I don't... I don't know what he might do to me." I sighed and took in he
Valerie's POV I stood up from the floor where I was cowering in anxiety and raced to the door with all my will power, leaving back all the dark memories that threatened to consume. Those double doors had never looked so beautiful, just standing there, shining like the key to my salvation. And finally, when I reached the handles I swung it right open, the warm breeze of the evening immediately hitting my tear stained cheeks and I slammed the door shut behind me. Trembling from both adrenaline and relief as I relaxed my back against it. Just as I thought I was safe, sharp excited screams suddenly filled the air and shook the devil out of me. "Surprise!!!" I stood frozen, my panicked eyes wide as I slowly took in the scenario in front of me. Everyone was present, Papa, Nanny Beth, the kids and even the staffs of the house, both old and new. Each person blinking excitedly at me while holding unto balloons and roses. By the side in the spacious yard was a long line of buffet, hel
HUDSON'S POV "So you see Madame, it's a win win situation. You help me, i help you." I said with a small smile and clapsed my hands on the table. I had just delivered a top notch offer on a platter of gold. An offer that would send all those old bastards who called themselves my investors crawling on the floor with greed and excitement. An offer she wouldn't get on a normal day, but instead of excitement all i met was the same expression that she had on ever since she got here, totally blank. I could understand though, a person of her caliber ought not to show weakness to anyone to avoid being taken advantage of. I applaud her skill to maintain But I was getting fed up at the same time. Time was not on my side and she knew that, so what's with all the silence? "So what do you say?" I asked, " Madame?" my tone a bit forceful. She cocked her head to the side at the change in my tone, but could you really blame me? I was the person in the position of need, I needed her on
HUDSON'S POV "You cannot do this! This should be illegal!" Cornels yelled, red veins popping on his forehead. "I can't do what exactly?" I asked calmly, a smirk playing on my lips. This dumb ass man thought he was the only one authorized to play the game, he had some nerves. The other investors had already filed out, leaving myself, Paul and red faced Cornels in the room that was used for the meeting, that obviously ended in my favour. None of the other idiots that had planned this whole coup with Cornels even dared to speak for him. Such traitorous old bastards! The minute I walked in, okay, maybe more like barging in since it was a supposed secret meeting to leave me stranded and then the assistant sent as Madame Joyce's representative appeared and announced her newest investments, every other person on the board of investors quickly switched sides in the blink of an eye. Could you believe that? If you didn't know, you would think Cornels was on drugs to even propose tha
Hudson POV As soon as the words left the mouth of whoever was at the door, I shot up from my seat and literally ran to the door. My legs had a mind of it's own at this point, with excitement coursing through me i flung the door wide open, causing it to bang against the wall behind as I yelled, "James! Hand over the evidence!"But instead of meeting James, I came face to face with a dark haired man. What the hell? My eyebrows knitted together as I assessed the the man's work clothes. "Errhm, Sir?" The same feminine voice that announced someone was at the door said. I let my eyes drift to her, and sure enough it was that daring brunette from down the hall. What was her name again, b...Blair?...Bendy? Beth...Ugh, whatever. I had to give it her though, the woman really was persistent. She had been actively trying to get on my bed for months now, always showing up randomly at my door when Paul was not close by. Where was Paul anyway?"Sir," she called again, straightening up, her boobs
THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEWWhat was that people often say about karma? That it is a bitch, right? Well, they were so right I tell you!I mean, who could’ve thought a mistress that replaced the main wife of a wealthy man, would turn out to also get so agitated by even the slightest chance her said trophy man would have another woman in his life? Another mistress I mean.Haha! It looks like no one likes the idea of her man having a mistress, especially Charlotte in this regard. One would think since she took the same route to barging her way into the life of a newlywedded couple, causing several conflicts and misunderstandings that ultimately led to a divorce, that she would be more understanding if some other woman was to show up in her man’s life using the same tactics. But no, she has proven to be of quite the high morals at the moment. A true believer that a man should absolutely have no one else in his life except his partner! Alas, been in the position of a current main wife has t
VALERIE’S POVIt was relaxing to hear and I hoped he stayed true to his words until the end. In no time, he disconnected from the call, leaving Rob and I. And looking at his relaxed form, all cladded in casuals as it way past work hours. I couldn’t help but remember how he comforted me that night at his place. How he refused to let me know about it the next morning, probably because he didn’t want me to worry over it.He was so good to me… so good that I wished I had more of him in my family than those ruthless people I called family members. How good that would have been… “How are you? Have you had dinner?” he asked, staring at me like he didn’t deliver me a truck load of food earlier today when I didn’t even ask for it.I was about to give him a sassy comment, when I noticed something on one of the screens and almost immediately, my phone vibrated with a call I couldn’t take. “Everything okay?” Rob asked, reminding me we were still on call. But I just waved him off and ended the cal
VALERIE’S POV“Please…”“I’m begging you, don’t push me down again. I will leave! I won’t come back here again,”“I promise you; I won’t come back here…just don’t hurt me anymore, please”“No,” “No! Don’t push me down again,” “Please don’t!”“Don’t!!”“Val! Calm down,” “It’s me. It’s Rob… you’re okay now”“Val?”“Valerie!!”And just like that, my eyes snapped open. A loud gasp emitting from my lips as I roughly hit down a glass of water from the table, I had apparently fell asleep on. Frantic, I looked around the environment and sure enough everything pointed to one thing; that I was currently in the underground in the house outside the city and breath of relief left my nostrils.Although, my heart was still pounding loudly in my chest, my forehead wet from sleep sweat. Other than that, everything was the same.“Ugh, goodness me…” I grumbled as everything came flooding back in my mind.I had apparently taken a time off from the world to meditate here in my game room. it was a ploy
HUDSON’S POV“What? The cops are here? What for?!”“Sir, they found Madame’s car at a hit and run scene last night” Paul explained, his words confusing me further. “What the hell are you talking about? How can Charlotte be involved in a hit and run incident?!” I asked, with furrowed eyebrows as the words refused to settle in my brain. What the hell was this new problem now?! I already had too much to worry about, I don’t need her adding to it. I haven’t even been able to come to a conclusion on how to handle her recent behaviors and now she went right ahead to get involved in a hit and run?! Just what is going on with that woman?!“The issue is all over the news, Sir” Paul added, turning on the TV and there it was on the screen with the craziest headline. ‘Popular Real Estate guru Hudson Rodriguiez’s supposed wife was rumored to have been involved in a hit and run scene that looked like it came straight out of a movie!’“What th-“It’s not looking good Sir, but our team are on it to b
CHARLOTTE'S POVEven Raymond had been unable to give me any information, saying he was still working on it! “So much for trusting him to help me out” I grumbled darkly as I rigorously washed my hands in the bathroom sink. I have actually been here for quite some time. It was high time I go back into the bedroom. Maybe even have a third round with Ethan so I could kill this anxiety brewing inside of me.We had met up earlier today as I needed a real good fuck to clear my head. Otherwise, I might just end up going crazy inside that mansion! Hudson didn’t even take his mom’s calls so I had no way of pacifying my annoyance. My only option being Ethan’s dick.Of course, I would love for him to be Hudson right now but I had to make do with what I had presently. The next time I would meet Hudson, heaven knows I will have him tied up so I can have my way with him!“Let’s see how he would avoid me then!” I said out loud and finally turned off the sink so I could dry my hands. I was just about
CHARLOTTE’S POV“Kiddo, hold on!”“I will look into it okay? No need to disturb the boss”“But I saw it with my own eyes, Raymond! There was eyeshadow stain on his suit!” I insisted, my voice rising from both anger and frustration as I tried to move past him so I could go into the living room. “That eyeshadow didn’t get there on its own, some woman was busy rubbing herself on him! He is seeing another woman under my nose! We need to find her!”“Kiddo! Wait!” he yelled, hurriedly running after me after I had pushed my way through. “Yes, we need to find her and we will! But the boss is meeting with an important guest right now, you can’t go there”“What? Even you too?!” I shot at him, my fury rising at his words as I paused to glare at his aged face. “My father is meeting with important guest, and so what?! Am I not important? Is my matter not more important?! His soon to be son- in law is now seeing another woman, shouldn’t that be a problem for him?!” I yelled, my voice rising and ech
VALERIE’S POV“G-get lost?”“H-how can you be so mean to me?!” she shrilled; her brown eyes red rimmed from shedding so much tears and more still continued to drip. Her mascara was far gone as it had already formed a long streak down her both cheeks since I stepped into the office. I already knew she was crying. She had most definitely seen the makeup stain on his suit, just like I had planned and now nothing will hold back her doubts and fears. I knew she wouldn’t accept that Hudson was cheating on her so easily if she hadn’t seen it with her two eyes. He was after all loyal to her all these years, not once having a scandal or looking at other women. A man with such devotion, what woman would believe he was cheating without concrete proof? No one!And as such, I had to create one for her.I couldn’t show myself just yet so telling her about it was out of the question. Hence, my reason for intentionally applying a bit of my makeup on his suit earlier this morning before we came to his
CHARLOTTE'S POVAs if my day couldn’t get any worse, she just had to show up! To pop up out of nowhere just when I was losing my shit over finding out that Hudson cheated on me. “You’re here to mock me, aren’t you? To gloat in my face just like all those other bitches, aren’t you?! Beat the dog while its down, eh?” I sneered, my eyes glaring daggers as I equally approached her incoming form.“Charlotte, are you well?” she asked instead, her overall expression nonchalant like she couldn’t be bothered by my approaching form. “What are you talking about?”“Admit it!” I spat angrily, my temper rolling as I moved even closer to her. “You’re here to laugh at me. You think I’m pathetic? You think I’m stupid, right?! So stupid that I couldn’t see Hudson was cheating me!” I sneered in her face, each word leaving a bitter taste in my mouth as it further confirmed that this was truly happening and to me, of all people! But sadly, my inner turmoil only brought joy to the face to the brown-haired
CHARLOTTE’S POVLucia was right. Hudson could decide not to come home but that doesn’t mean I can’t go to him here at the company. He may ignore me but he would most definitely not cause a scene at the office where public eyes could see. Hence, making Lucia’s plan to go to his office very efficient. How didn’t I think of this before?“Excuse me Ma’am, but who are you?” the security just outside the elevator on Hudson’s office floor asked, blocking my path. “What?”“Without a pass you can’t get through Ma’am” he said, looking unapologetic as he literally stopped me in front of the few staffs present. What sort of embarrassment is this?! “What the hell are you doing?” I spat in disgust as my eyes ran down his form, “Don’t you know who I am? What kind of sick joke is this?!”“No offense Ma’am but noise is restricted on this floor” he retorted, sparking my irritation as he communicated to God knows who on that communicating device seated on his waist. Soon after more security came rushing
