Hudson's POV

Ever since we left to the King's Hotel for the Elite Soriee event my emotions had just been all over the place.

I had always considered myself an intelligent and composed person, only making decisions after a well articulated thinking process.

But somehow all that flew out the window the minute I saw Valerie walk into that hall this evening. First she showed up looking like she was dressed to kill, making all the men to look at her like a meal, then she went right ahead to openly challenge Charlotte in the bid and even went further to challenge me!

I had initially thought she was being her nitpicking self, begging for attention. That she wanted to use Charlotte to earn a title amongst the elite tonight, so I made sure to place the highest bid to beat her at her own game.

Oh, how wrong I was. That had to be the most foolish decision I had ever taken in my entire life!
