Chapter 3

 Jade and her friend went to order their meals before going to find a sit . They had just sat when someone suddenly sat beside Winter . 

 She turned to see a blue haired guy ,he was very handsome ,infact almost as handsome as Lance . He was the second  male lead , Alaric and her distant cousin . 

 He smiled at her then faced Lilith who turned red at his gaze . He had a beautiful green eyes like Jade and Lilith had had a crush on him since forever but being the shy person she was,she could never confess .

 

 According to the book , Alaric and Lilith would end up together but that would be after he was heart broken at the fact that the lady he loved ( Diniel ) would be in love with his friend ,Lance . 

 Jade decided to help her cousin avoid heart break and make him fall for Lilith too.

" Cuz ,I heard you had issues yesterday , it's a pity I wasn't in school yesterday I would have solved it ,so are you okay now?" He asked patting her hair . 

 Infact all her brothers love patting and kissing her hair and she would have to get used to it  because she never had any siblings ,she was an only child and was pampered even though her parents weren't that rich .

 

She smiled back at him because she knew ,if indeed he was in school the day before ,the matter would have been solved easily . He was her guardian in school .

" I'm fine bro , no worries " she replied and he took the Strawberry milk she had ordered and was about drinking it when she slapped his shoulder .

" Ouch ,let me have a bit " he said but she snatched it from him .

 " Get yours or take from Lilith ,I'm sure she wouldn't complain " she told him and he pouted before facing Lilith who already buried her head in the cake she was eating.

" Lady Lili can I take your drink ? He requested politely and she nodded yes . Jade  suddenly bursted into laughter at the two of them behavior .

" She's a better person than you are " he told winter who shrugged .

" Whatever " she replied him .

" So do you think someone might have planted the answers in your backpack?" He asked and she agreed .

" I think so too and I'll find out who it is " she replied when in actuality she knew who it was but that was from the book ,she needed real proof . She couldn't just go ahead and pick the person, can she?

After they had finished their lunch , Jade went to order Pizza ,Vanilla milk and a bottle of cold water then placed them in a plastic bag before leaving the eatery . 

Alaric noticed what she was carrying so he asked who it was for .

 " Someone special " she replied and he stopped asking thinking it was for Lance .

 " Cuz , now you can go meet your friends ,bye " she chased him away and he laughed .

 " So you are chasing  me away , don't you love me anymore " he whined pouting and she laughed .

  Get lost " she kicked him and he left  laughing.

" Where are we going?" Lilith asked , noticing Jade wanted to give the plastic bag to someone 

 " The Basketball court " she replied and Lilith concluded it was for Lance . Well he was still her fiancee even if they fought .

The girls got to the basketball court and found out there was an intense game going on , it was between  The Tiger's team which was Lance team vs Dragon team which was Darryl's team . Darryl  was the best basketball player in school so it was hard for anyone else to win .

 Jade and Lilith sat among the girls cheering for the players . 

And suddenly Jade  spotted the person she was looking for, it wasn't hard at all because he was the hottest guy at the game and frankly speaking he was more and way good looking than Lance . He even had her Favourite eye colour, Grey and they were really beautiful on him.

 ' at least the author did something right ' she thought before continuing watching him then smile whenever he won .

 The dragon team already had 4 wins while the Tiger team had Zero . And three from the dragon team was because of Darryl . They had just finished the round when Darryl lifted his head and his eyes met the girl who had been haunting his dreams for the past three years, his heart skipped a beat and he didn't know what to do anymore .

 He was wondering what she was doing there when he recalled her fiancee was here . It was a bitter feeling but there was nothing he could do to that other than admire her from afar .

 He had just lifted his head when he saw she was smiling at him ,he had to look behind him Incase he was mistaken but it was really him she was smiling at . His legs suddenly went weak and he couldn't hear what his teammates were saying anymore not until someone tapped him and he turned to his friend .

 " The next round is starting now " Leo told him and he nodded before turning back to face Jade  and when he saw her face the last time ,he went back to his position . He knew he wasn't going to focus on the game this time around because his thoughts  was clouded . 

 ' she's here ,she's smiling at me ' was all his mind kept telling him .

 He lost the first two goals making the Tiger team win over them . Everyone were confused at what happened . 

 " Hey man , what's wrong with you ? One of his teammates chided him but he wasn't focused on them . 

He looked back at where she was sitting and saw that she was Frowning at him ,he panicked .

' oh no ! What if she's angry at me ? He thought before gathering his thoughts then started playing well .

 He won the first few rounds ,then turned to see her smiling .

 He smiled too , he'll gladly go to hell if it would make her smile .

" Wow ,Darryl  really is the Basketball god , why don't you go give Lance the present you brought for him " Lilith suggested but Jade turned to her then smiled .

" It's for Darryl not Lance " she replied and Lilith eyes went wide with  shock .

Jade didn't wait for her friend's reply before she headed to the boys who were resting after the final round  .

On the other hand at Lance Team ,they all saw Jade  walking towards them and they teased Lance . 

 " You are one lucky guy , many girls are bringing things for you and you even have the most beautiful girl in school as your fiance, when would I be lucky too " one of them teased and Lance stared at Jade smugly .

' she must be coming to apologise for her behavior earlier ' he thought but was shocked when she didn't even glance his way and went ahead .

 Darryl on the other hand ,when he saw Jade heading towards Lance ,he felt as though something was squeezing his heart from within , why can she be with Lance and not him ? 

 He looked away and took a bottle ready to drink ,he had just opened the cap when he heard whistles behind him followed by Leo tapping him . 

 He almost snapped at Leo when he saw the person in front of him .

 If he wasn't holding the bottle in his hand well ,the poor thing would have fell to the floor . 

 

 He blinked , hoping he wasn't dreaming when he saw she was still there smiling at him .

She stretched out the plastic bag to him and he looked confused .

" Have it , I brought this for you at the eatery " she said then took the bottle in his hand then replaced it with the cold bottle in her hand .

" You can have this , and the bag too , thanks for earlier " she replied smiling brighter than ever and his heart beat went erratic .

 He collected his thoughts then took the bottle and bag from her .

" Sure thanks " he replied , returning the smile to her .

 " I'll be leaving , bye and you were superb earlier ". She told him then winked at him before walking away .

He watched as she went to meet her friend before walking out of the court .

 His heartbeat still hasn't settled  ,he was still in a daze until leo tapped him .

 " Bro ,she has left you can stop staring " Leo knew of his best friend's crush on the girl so he wasn't surprised at his friend's behavior .

Darryl opened the bottle and drank all of it before going to find a sit to eat whatever she gave him . He doesn't care whatever it was ,he was going to eat all of it.

" Wow ,I thought you don't accept things from girls ,what was that ?" One of his teammates asked and Leo drapped his hand over the guy's neck .

" My dear Tristan ,have you ever seen someone reject whatever their crush gives them , do you know he never eats pizza ,even when his beloved Mum makes it for him but because his Winter brought it for him ,he is eating it " Leo mocked Darrryl who pretended as though he didn't hear what Leo was saying .

" Boy, you are a total goner " Tristan told him .
