10 Years later

"Do you have everything ready?"
Lily whispered to Hailey who responded with a nod.
They were both in the luxurious princess room that Vanessa had given them ten years ago muttering to themselves.
For ten years they have been following their mother, serving her, allowing her to teach them and train too. They had mastered their abilities and powers.
Because of the ruthless training and practice they gave themselves they had become way stronger and faster than most of Vanessa's guards. But during these years they had been planning...... On how to escape.
Vanessa was building an army of vampires..and they had no idea what they were for but Hailey knew it wasn't for any good.
This was the perfect opportunity for them to leave because she had left earlier that money and won't be back till the next day.
Ten years of laying low had made her trust the twins.
Fat mistake.
"We don't need clothes. Where will we go?" Lily whispered.
"I don't know Lily. Far away...we will keep running till we get very far away from here and from Vanessa. We will find a busy town and start a home there..." Hailey whispered and Lily nodded.
"You ready?"
Lily nodded again, grabbing the bottle on the bed.
"There should be about 5 guards or so on this floor. We will do away with them quickly before they make a sound and alert the others. You take two of em and I take three by the East. You remember everything don't you?"
Hailey whispered and Lily nodded again.
With a deep breath she moved to the door then paused and listened. She was right...there were five guards right outside their door.
In a flash, Hailey opened the door and was grabbing the first one's head with both palms...with a hard twist she broke his neck in seconds.
Before the others could process Lily was already attacking the third.
Hailey ran to the one with a gun, swiftly dodging his blow and moving behind him. With an effortless jump she wrapped her legs around his neck and twisted it too..
She looked over at Lily to see her ripping out the heart of the last man with her bare hand.
Atta girl.
They carried the bodies to their room and locked the door.
"Let's go," Hailey whispered, grabbing Lily's hand.
And with a run they both jumped out the window of the tower and landed on the tree beside the tower.
Hailey let go of Lily's hand and grabbed a branch tightly.
"Don't look down," she instructed. Lily was scared of heights..."just follow my lead"
Grabbing one branch after the other, they both swung tree from tree till they were outside the big estate.
Hailey landed gracefully and waited for Lily to do the same.
Then they ran into the bush...with the wind blowing past their cheeks..
They ran and kept running

"What now?" Lily asked, splashing water from the steam on her face.
They had been on the run for two weeks...only taking rests once in a while, feeding off wild animals and raw Vegetables and fruits.
And they were currently camping in an abandoned cottage near a stream.
Hailey had no idea where they were, but it didn't matter so long as they were far away from Vanessa.
"I think we should stay here for a while." Hailey answered, taking off her sandals to dip her legs inside the cold stream of water.
"Or we can keep going. What if she finds us here?"
Hailey turned to look at her sister. The stress and fatigue was obvious on her face.
"For how long do we keep running Lily? Listen" she whispered with a smile
"Listen carefully....so you hear anything other than the sounds of animals and birds and the beautiful whispers of breeze? No one is closeby and we won't be found...we can't keep running forever. We will make a home here...for now. We are very far"
"What about clothes? And food...and...
"We are vampires Lily. Surely there must be a town nearby that we can visit once in a while for such things"
Lily smiled for the first time that day...
"You are right. We can make this work. This could be our home" she said and turned to look at the cottage behind them.
It was very old, with broken doors and a thick patch of bushes around it.
"Exactly..."
"We will stay together forever," Lily whispered. "Promise me Hailey, that throughout the thousands and millions of years we have to live, that you won't leave my side. "
Hailey got up, walking over to her sister and gave her a hug
"Nothing could separate us, Lily. Nothing....you are all I have left. I'm not leaving you for anything"
She whispered into her sister's ears and Lily hugged her back tightly.
"This isn't the life I wanted. Ten years ago, this wasn't what I wanted" Lily whispered
"I know Lily. We wanted a family...we wanted kids, and a garden to work in and I wanted to own a bakery. But maybe we can still have most of that. We didn't ask for this... But together we can gather what life threw at us and make it work"
Hailey knew they would
"And we will start from this cottage"
Lily laughed and sniffed, releasing her sister.
"It is a very ugly cottage" she laughed
"It is.." Hailey said laughing with her.
"But we will turn it into what we want. We will plant flowers around it, get beautiful linens from any nearby town, we will wash everything and everywhere till it's sparkling clean.. We will turn it into our dream home Lily"
Hailey was already excited about this new development. She could picture it in her head already.
A home, a cozy home for her and her sister.
She would get foodstuffs and bake every three days for Lily.
They would be happy...and at peace...
They had thousands of years to make it work.
"We will make it work" Lily nodded and hugged her sister again.
1670"I can't believe I let you talk me into this. What if someone recognizes us?""Don't be silly Hailey, No one will recognize us. It's been a hundred and fifty years already...what mortal can live that long?" Lily laughed, biting into the red apple in her hand.Hailey smiled looking at her sister. They had come a very long way since they escaped from their mother's Tower. Hailey woke up later with her head banging. Headache? When was the last time she had a headache? She opened her eyes and frowned at her surroundings... She looked at her palm and saw blood.Hailey gasped in horror trying her best to remember where the blood came from. She tried to remember how the blood got to her hands. That was the smell of human blood.Only thing she Could remember was leaving Lily's garden with a tray of cookies and coming to her house. She remembered knocking and Dax opening the door with a smile and inviting her in. Inviting her in? Why wasn't she carrying the tray of cookies then? December 1522Christmas....The favorite season of the year for almost everyone in Crispy Hallows. The sweet aroma of cakes being baked and turkey filled the air, sweet sounds of Christmas songs coming out from different houses, children chattering and running around happily.Everything was perfect.... The silence in the whole village made Hailey uneasy. She loved quiet and all but not like this. There was fear and a sense of danger in the air, you could almost smell it.There were no more sounds of laughter and Christmas music like there should be on a Christmas Eve. Not even a whisper could be heard.Their father had warned them not to step out of the house later that day, and they had ended up eating most of the things she cooked themselves while the rest were left to spoil in the kitchen.Hailey didn't like what she was feeling. The sounds of snow falling on roofs were the only sounds that could be heard outside Hailey's room. She got up from her bed and went to stand beside the window and stared at the dark bushes. The scorching pain running through Hailey's body was almost tearing her apart but she couldn't do anything...No matter how much she tried to scream she couldn't get a word out of her mouth. Then the pain was replaced by dizziness...and the last thing she heard as she lost consciousness was Vanessa's whisper"Sleep daughter. And when you wake up you will be forever grateful for what I did. You will be faster, stronger and smarter than anyone you come across. You will be undefeatable and by my side your sister and I will rule, forever"Then everything went black_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _What woke Hailey up was the bumpings and neigh of horses.
