Olivia’s POV

I sat my suitcase down on the bed in my new room. Changing hotels was the best thing for me to do. I needed to put space between Alexander and me. Cassandra was back and she was always the first choice of Alexander. I always knew that.

As I unpacked my belongings, my mind wandered to Alexander, to the touch of his hands on my skin, the warmth they brought. I shook my head violently, trying to banish those memories. My children needed me strong, not shattered by a complicated love I couldn't disentangle myself from.

A sudden knock on the door startled me. I tensed, every fibre of my being prepared for it to be Alexander. My instinctive response was to tell them to leave, but before I could form the words, the door creaked open. Victor walked in. Concern etched on his face.

"Olivia, are you okay?" he asked softly, his eyes scanning my face for any sign of distress.

"I'm fine," I replied, my voice steady. But I couldn't bring myself to look at him. The weight of my emotions f

Alexanders povAs I navigated the bustling corridors of the city's pack house, my thoughts were intrusively fixated on Olivia. Her decision to meet the new Alphas was a bitter pill to swallow, and yet, Cassandra clouded my every rational thought. I wished Cassandra would stay back at the hotel and rest, but she had pleaded to come along. Her insistence was as rigid as steel, and I, as evident from my troubled heart, couldn't bring myself to say no.As we walked into the grand hall, the sound of laughter and engaged conversations filled the air. My eyes immediately landed on Olivia, standing alongside Victor, Allen, and Lidia. She was a picture of perfection wearing a beautiful gold dress. My heart did a painful flip as Olivia turned toward the entrance, her eyes finding mine. She quickly whispered something to the others before disappearing with Lidia. She didn't wait or acknowledge me — a dagger to my already wounded heart. The agony of her avoidance was inexplicable. Olivia's POVThe grand hall buzzed with energy, filled to the brim with laughter and conversations. Yet, I felt more isolated than ever. I did my best to Ignore the feeling of being watched. I engaged in polite conversations with several Alphas. Most were cordial and respectful, but one stood out—Alpha Reed. His genuine kindness and easy manner provided a much-needed respite from the emotional storm brewing inside me.I could feel Alexander’s frequent gaze on me. But I didn’t have any reactions. As the evening drew on and the crowd thinned, I found myself overwhelmed by the suffocating atmosphere. I needed air, a moment to escape the world's expectations and untangle my emotions. Sliding quietly out of the French doors and onto the balcony, I let the cool night breeze caress my face. The city's lights twinkled below like distant stars, offering a small comfort.Closing my eyes, I drifted into a fragile peace. Aura, my wolf, stirred inside me, her presence a mix of strength and caution.

Alexander povI stood there watching Olivia walk away yet again, and my heart and wolf screamed at me to chase after her. But there was no point if I kept pushing her. I would lose her and my children forever. The sound of Cassandra's voice pulled me back."You no longer need to worry about her," she said smoothly, her voice weaving through the night air. "I am back."I turned, meeting her gaze. "It's not that easy, Cassandra," I replied, taking a step back. "Olivia is my fated mate, and we have children together."Silence fell between us, heavy and uncomfortable. For a moment, something flickered in Cassandra’s eyes, an emotion too fleeting for me to grasp. But she covered it quickly, her expression hardening."But you promised to never love another," she said, her voice laced with accusation.Guilt twisted in my gut. She was right; I had been a man of my word all of my life. I hadn't seen how selfish her demand was, how it shackled me with invisible chains. "I was wrong to promise th

Victor's POVI took my seat at the oak table that stretched across the room. The old stone walls seemed to echo their murmurs, filling the air with a palpable tension. My gaze fell upon the elders as they exchanged knowing glances, the weight of their authority pressing down on every soul in the room.A shrill voice sliced through the ambient noise. "Victor," Elder Aldrich called my name, his tone carrying a hint of challenge. I stood up, feeling everyone's eyes fixate on me like wolves eyeing their prey."Yes, Elder Aldrich?" I replied, maintaining an air of composure."We've heard varying reports about your sisters. How are they doing in their meetings with the Alphas?" His sharp eyes bored into mine, searching for any sign of weakness."Olivia is doing exceptionally well," I began, choosing my words carefully. "Her strength and resilience have earned her respect. She's met several Alphas, and the negotiations are moving smoothly.""And what of Lidia?" This time, it was Elder Beatrix

Olivias povEverywhere I went, Alexander and Cases haunted me, but I held myself together, never showing any sign of weakness in front of them. I had arranged to meet with Alpha Reed today. I waited outside for him to finish with yet another meeting with the elders that all the alphas had been called to.I saw Cass walking towards me. What did she intend to do?As she got closer I saw the formula look in her eyes that she used to get when we were children but before I could do anything she brought her hand up, slapping me across the face. The sting of it spread through my cheek, but I held myself steady, glaring back at her.Aurora growled inside me and wanted to hit her back."You think you're better than me.” Cassandra spat, “You will never be better than me you will always be that pathetic wolfless freak. Alexander never truly loved you.” raising her hand again for another slap. But this time, I was ready. I caught her wrist mid-air, gripping it tightly enough and made her hurt.“Ah

Lydia's POVI had been lingering near the entrance, eavesdropping on Olivia and Cassandra's heated exchange. A mixture of emotions churned in me: the old resentment towards Olivia, the spark of newly found respect I had for her after Victor told me about what she had spoken for me. She thought for me and cared about me truly from her heart.I saw Olivia catch Cassandra's wrist and confront her without hesitation. For the first time, I felt a surge of pride for my sister, and for the first time, that's what I saw her as.Deep down, I knew Olivia didn't expect me to come along and save, and i knew that she was more then capable of standing up for herself but i wanted her to know that she wasn't alone in this. With renewed determination, I stepped forward, resting my hand on Olivia's shoulder. She spun around, her expression changing from fury to surprise at seeing me."Lydia?" she stammered. It was clear she hadn't expected me to intervene.I nodded curtly before shifting my gaze to Cass

Olivia's POVLidia and I started to become closer over the next few days; it was nice to finally have a relationship with her. It was something I hadn’t realised I needed. Although she didn’t completely let go of her guarder bitchy personality which I didn’t mind even when she told me I needed to start acting more like a princess, I saw more of the loving, caring side she had that Victor always spoke about. One evening, as we sat in her room, she helped me go through dresses for our next meeting with the alphas. She looked up at me, letting out a loud sigh, and I could tell that she had something on her mind. Instead of pushing her to talk, I gave her a warm, welcoming smile. It had been clear since the minute she had gotten here that she wasn’t interested in any of the alphas and that her heart belonged to another."Olivia, there's something I need to tell you,” She began, her voice barely above a whisper. I sensed the weight of her words and gave her my undivided attention. "I... I t

Olivia’s POVReed whispered something into my ear, his warm breath sending a shiver down my spine. “You look stunning, Olivia. Absolutely radiant.”A blush crept up my cheeks. "Thank you, Alpha Reed. You clean up well yourself."As the music swelled, I allowed myself to be whisked away into a dance. Reed held me close, his touch gentle yet commanding. In moments like these, I could almost forget the lingering shadows of my past. As the song came to an end, I excused myself from reed and made my way to the bathroom. But on my way there, I heard arguing, and one of the voices sounded familiar. It was Lidia, her hand gesturing sharply at Alpha Derek, who stood rigid, his face contorted in anger. I strained to hear, my sharp senses catching fragments of their heated conversation.“You think you're too for me; you are nothing but a pathetic whore.” Alpha Derek's voice cut through the air.I stepped forward, my wolf already stirring within me. Reeds povI didn't know how long I had been trapped in that cave with the witches' burnt and rotting bodies. Everything was a blur, and my mind struggled to piece things together, only fragments passing through every now and again like echoes of a fading nightmare. I vaguely remembered their chants, the strange words resonating in a rhythm that seemed to align with the throbbing pain in my leg. Natasha lay nearby, her eyes open but unseeing, a haunting reminder of what happened when the moon's light came through that cursed cave.As the days passed, the fog obscuring my thoughts began to lift. My survival instincts took over, pushing me toward a gruelling reality: I needed to escape, to move before they found me.With grim determination, I dragged myself from the darkness of the cave, the memory of Natasha and the others burning in my mind. I asked, turning my head to meet Selene's serene eyes. "Will they continue to stir up trouble?"Her expression remained calm, yet there was a flicker of something—satisfaction, perhaps—in her gaze. "The witches have become prisoners of the moon," she replied, her voice a soothing lull yet imbued with undeniable authority. "Their struggle against you exhausted their magic, leaving them weak and confined."As Selene spoke, she gestured gracefully as if painting the air with her fingertips. Their presence, though reassuring, brought an ache to my heart. How do you explain to a child the cruelty of the world that places their mother in such a vulnerable state? They were brave, our twins. Sarah clutched Olivia's hand tightly, refusing to let go, while Liam focused his will on staying awake, his eyes fixed on his mother more intensely than his years should allow.
