Chapter 10

Alianna lay in the hospital bed, her eyes closed and her face pale. She had been brought in earlier that day after a fall that had left her unconscious. Her father, Mr. Sebastiano, sat by her bedside, his face etched with worry.

The doctor, a middle-aged man with a kind face, entered the room. "Mr. Sebastino," he said, "I have the results of Alianna's tests."
