Dream“Mom!” I giggle as mom chases after me. She is chasing me around this big yard trying to tickle me. She keeps telling me the tickle monster is going to get me. I’m trying hard to not get caught by her. I run as fast as my legs will carry me. I squeal as someone grabs me and tosses me in to the air. The person catches me and tosses me again but this time another person catches me. I can tell they are boys just by the way they look. They are very tall because when I look at the ground I’m really high up in the air. Plus, they toss me really high up. I can’t see their faces but they feel familiar. Like how my family feels to me but I don’t think I know them. I haven’t met any boys other than Uncle Liam and Uncle Blake. I see one of them talking to mom and the other one is carrying me on their shoulders. It’s fun up here. I look around and notice so many cool wolves running around. I see gray, black, brownish, black and white, black and gray. A lot of them. I wonder if I could pet
Grey I’m running patrols like normal. The day is beautiful and the trees blocking the sun rays helps keep me cool as I run the perimeter. There has been nothing out of the ordinary for the past year but we keep up the patrols just in case.I don’t know what happened to the huge threat we heard about but we are not taking any chances. If we ever get Everleigh back we want it to be safe for her. We have taken every precaution we can think of to make sure the past doesn’t repeat itself. When my patrol is over I nod to the warriors who are about to take over and link them letting them know there was nothing out of the ordinary. Even though I’m exhausted and want to go home to bed I can’t.There is a nagging feeling in me so I take a run to hopefully get rid of it. It might be nerves or something for the upcoming mission Zay and I are going on in the next few days.I find our field and walk to my favorite tree and lay down. It’s a beautiful cherry tree in full bloom. The subtle scent it
My head whips in the direction of the little boy and he giggles. Why is he acting like he knows me?“This here is my friend Snowy. I don’t know if you remember her. She protects me from the bad people just like my mommy does.” The little boy said while putting his small hand on the top of her head and running it through her fur. It finally clicks. My other dreams. I’ve had a few others that include this boy but I don’t remember any with this other wolf. Usually, Zay’s wolf is with me. Remembering this I look around to see if he was here too. When I don’t see him I look back to the boy. I notice he has gotten closer to me. “Chocolate can we go for a run?” He asked me with a smile. I give him my best wolfie smile and nod my head. He whoops and hollers before coming the rest of the way to me. I lay on the ground so he can climb on my back. He is still a bit small
Zayden. There is a feeling inside me that I have been getting for the last few years that makes it feel like there is something missing. Like a piece of me is gone. It might just be the mate bond and me missing Everleigh but it feels different. I don’t know what it is but it keeps getting stronger. Grey and I never accepted her rejection of us and we won’t until we get the chance to talk to her. That chance is coming soon.We are in on our pack plane flying from Missouri to Georgia to meet up with the warriors. We have a plan set that we need to go over before everything is in motion. They told me that they watched her go in to a photography studio yesterday. They don’t know what she was doing there but just that one of the women who owned it rushed off to meet a school bus to get a little boy off while the other stayed and talked to her. They said there was something oddly familiar about the other owner but
We arrive at the private airport and descend the plane. Since this isn’t pack business there is no one waiting on us besides the rental SUV we got.We grab our luggage and head to the car. We put our bags in the back and walk around to get in. As soon as the doors are shut I start the car and we take off on our hour drive to the hotel we rented. The drive wasn’t bad but it was silent. I could tell Grey was thinking hard but I didn’t want to ask him about it even though I was curious to know. As we got closer to our destination the cities we passed got smaller and smaller. I hear the humans call smaller cities a town.As we cross over the town line I see a sign that says there are 1,354 people living here. That is very small. Why would anyone want to live in a town this small? You have to drive 20 to 30 minutes just to get to a decent size city to do things. As I’m driving I notice that there are a lot of people just walking around
I hand Grey one of the key cards as we walk back outside to grab our bags. Once we have them I lock the SUV back up and we walk back in heading to the elevator to go up to our room. This hotel is pretty fancy in a technological way. I’ve never seen one where your key card works with an elevator. It’s interesting. As we stand here waiting on the elevator to come down, my eyes wonder around.Whoever owns this place has done a great job. There are pictures of the forest, city, carnivals, and animals in different sections. There looks to be a little book nook in the corner by a fake fireplace that isn’t lit up.The common room area where the big tv is and huge sectional. If I didn’t know any better I would say this could pass as a pack house. The elevator arrives and Grey and I step in. I notice there are no buttons on the wall to push so the only way to get our floor is through the key cards. How interesting. I might have to add some type of security like th
EverleighWe are nearing the end of our last day before we leave. I just got finished with Mr. and Mrs. Milstead and I’m packing up my props and camera when Sophia walks over to me smiling.“That was amazing.” She said to me.I smiled at her and nodded my head.“This week has flown by so fast. I can’t believe we leave tomorrow to go to your old pack.” She squeals.“I know this is so surreal. And to have you all going with me as support has my feelings all over the place.” I tell her as I zip up my last bag before picking it up. I look at her and smile.I love my little family so very much. I’m so happy they have all came in to my life.“So, our plane leaves at five in the morning so we will have to leave at 3:30 a.m. to make it to the airport in time. You know what that means right?” She asked me with a mischievous glint in her eyes.&ldqu
The sun is beating down on me through the cracks of the limbs as I lay under a canopy of trees. A beautiful breeze is blowing my fur slightly and the smell of fresh air is all around. I open my eyes when I feel a little movement to my left on my body. I look over and see Walker sleeping against me. I nuzzle his cheek trying to wake him up. I watch as he wraps his little arm around my leg and cuddles closer. I wish I could show him my wolf. I haven’t been able to shift since we rejected our mates. Nyx says she is fine, that it’s just taking longer since we had two of them for her health and strength to come back. I know she is still there because I can feel her but I miss talking to her all the time. She will come out when absolutely necessary but other than that I don’t hear from her. I watch as she nuzzle Walker more and lick his cheek. He giggles and tries hiding his face in her fur. She lick his ear this time going from his
“Let’s go find her and let Aunt Sophia have some much-needed alone time.” I say standing up. Walker walks over and shuts the Tv off before walking around and picking up their plates and cups, toys and miscellaneous things they have placed everywhere.“Thank you Sophia. I really appreciate you.” I say turning towards her.“No problem Everleigh. You know I love that little boy like he was my own and Felix is getting there too. They are the best little boys anyone could have the pleasure of watching.” I smile knowing that having them around means the world to her. After the boys pick up their things we head out the door after giving hugs and saying bye. We walk down the hallway towards our room when I see Desi coming out of her room.“I was just going to look for you boys.” She says smiling down at them.“We were on our way to you mom.” Felix says with a yawn.“Uh oh, I thi
“Feels like it’s been years since I’ve seen you Everleigh.” She whispers letting go of me.“I’m sorry Soph. I didn’t expect all this to happen and mess up our vacation.” I tell her looking at the floor. “I’m not the Luna but this still feels like my pack and I have to do something.” I say slowly looking up at her.“I understand babe. I promise I do. I don’t mind. I love watching the boys and Rylan. They are so good with her. Plus, her dad isn’t bad to look at either.” Sophia says winking at me causing me to chuckle.“I need to talk to Walker though. There is something I need to see if he can do.” I say turning to look at the boys giggling at the moving they are watching. “I don’t want to put it on him but he is the only one I know that can dream walk. I really need to talk to one of the guys.”“I watched him do it with Aria and Jaz
I hear the buzz of voices in the background as I walk around the office not knowing what I’m doing and doubting myself. How do the guys do this day in and day out? I mean yeah they grew up learning this stuff but how does the stress not eat them alive? I feel like I’m failing everyone. The scouts got hurt because I sent them out. The guys are missing because some asshole is after me. They don’t even know they have a son because I couldn’t bring myself to come back and tell them. I couldn’t bring myself to come back and see them happy with someone else. Even if they didn’t I couldn’t bring myself to come back and be hurt again by all the memories.Over the years I have learned that it wasn’t all on them but the hurt in my heart couldn’t keep me here. It would be never ending while someone was plotting against my mates and me. I don’t know what this Orphee person is after or why but I know it’s bad. I know they w
“She will be here in a jiffy.” Dawn says coming out of the mind-link. “Good thinking Everleigh. We honestly don’t think of things like that. We have been around nothing but good witches and Fae over the last five years that we don’t stop and think.” She says apologetically.“That doesn’t make since. After everything that has happened you all really put your trust in witches not to be dark still?” I scoffed.“It’s not like that Everleigh. We have had rogue attacks still but the witches have left us alone. Because of Vor and Wendy we don’t have any issues with them thankfully. They have done such an amazing job with their warding around the pack lands we haven’t had to worry about dark ones coming in. Anyone with magical ill intentions is not allowed to cross over to the main part of the pack lands.” Evan explains.“But others who have ill intentions can still come and go?&rd
EverleighIt’s been three days since we sent the scouts out. Three days since we heard anything. Dev says this is how it is sometimes when they are on a mission. It’s an eight-hour drive to that pack. They could have flown but that is too easy to trace and they would have known as soon as it landed. Since it was late at night when they left they would have gotten there around three in the morning. We have not seen Zayden’s mom Eve the last few days which is worrying me a little. I don’t know why but I have a feeling she is behind a lot of this.We went and visited Liam. There is still no way of knowing when he will wake up. His wolf is still out. Bailey sits by him every day all day long. I had a hard time convincing her to go shower last night. I told her I was going to sit by him until she returned to make sure someone was here with him. He reluctantly agreed to it. I talked to the doctor about putting him up in the Alp
“You and your mates are still linked. It is very weak but it is still there. When you are close all powers will be restored and strengthened.” Vor said shaking her head to clear it. She clears her throat before focusing on everyone else. “Yes, anyways, I have a few pendants that I will give the warriors to wear. You must not take them off until you get back here. It will cover your scents, tracks and there is a barrier spell put in them so no one will see you easily. If they are close enough they still can but it will distort your figure and camouflage you from a distance.”“Wow that’s more than what I was going see if you could do.” Everleigh said with a chuckle. That chuckle sent my heart in to overdrive. I have missed my mate so much. “I will go get those then these men can head off. The sooner they go the sooner we can get the kids back.” Vor said grabbing Wendy&rsqu
I open my eyes and blink back the brightness. What in the hell? I look around and notice I am in my office. But I am not alone. I see Dev, Evan, Dawn, a few other warriors and Desi. What the hell is Desi doing in my office?! I thought outraged. She should be in the cells! Why did they let her out? Before I could move the door to my office opened and in walked the last person I thought I would ever see. My breath caught in my throat at the beautiful sight before me. My beautiful mate. Everleigh. Her name came out breathlessly from my lips. I watch as she halts for a second before she shakes her head and shuts the door behind her. “I found out about the kids. We need to send a scout to look in to it.” She says walking over to the others who are huddled around my meeting table looking at something. I slowly walk over and look over her shoulder as she bends over looking at something. I feel a slight shiver move over her body but what catc
When I get out of here I’m killing this motherfucker with my own bare hands. Or maybe I will take him back to the pack and torture him before killing him. Grey can help me with it. These fuckers deserve it. They wouldn’t stand a chance against any of us if they didn’t drug us to begin with. I’m just hoping we all get out of here alive. The rough jerk of my shirt and almost falling brought me out of my thoughts.“Come. We don’t have all day.” The jerk said in a snarl. “If it wasn’t for them wanting you I would have killed you already Zayden.” He spits out.“You only had to drug me because you couldn’t take me on when I was at full strength. Just wait asshole. You will get what’s coming to you.” I tell him through clinched teeth. The asshole laughs before spinning me around and punching me hard in the face. I feel my cheek throb. I think the prick broke my cheekbone. Damn it. Without Rye I’m going to be fucking hurting from all this shit worse than I already am.“You hit like a human.”
ZaydenWe still don’t know where we are or how long we have been here. The days are running together. It doesn’t help they are constantly knocking us out with some concoction. The cells we are in have no windows and we can’t tell if it’s night or day. Once in a while someone will come in and unchain one of us and drag us off to another windowless room to do experiments on us. They never told us what these experiments are for but we know they are back. We are getting weaker by the minute. I haven’t been able to feel Rye since we got here and they first injected us.Grey is in worse shape than I am and one of Starks warriors passed with the last set of experiments. Thankfully with his wolf dormant for now and the link to his pack weakened, he wasn’t able to feel this warriors link break in full force. He said it reminded him of kind of like a rubber band snapping. I’m hoping Grey can make it out of here. If something happens to him before we make it out I might just give up myself. We ma
