‘Rogues!’

We hear through the mind link and I don’t think twice as I jump from the balcony onto the roof all the way down to the ground.

“Luna wait! Shit!”

Lucas follows me as I take off in the direction the scent of blood and burnt flesh is heaviest. Sure enough I find the rogues attacking my people. I see two children cowering as a third, probably the oldest, stands in front of the younger two to protect them. I shift and immediately charge the rogue and slam into him before he reaches the children.

I stand in front of the children, snarling at the wolf as he bares his fangs at me. I prepare as he charges but he never reaches us as a large brown lycan grabs the rogue by the throat and breaks his neck.
