CHAPTER FORTY-THREE: Wrong Footage.

“If you stare at him one more time, I will be forced to carve his pretty head out of his body.” Roman says with a growl that almost makes me believe his statement.

“I wasn't staring at him!” I say angrily to Roman.

“Try again, princess. This time with the truth.” Roman says, glaring at Noah across the table.

Apparently, Noah was related to the host so he was seated at our table.

“How could I concentrate on any other person when you are around?” I ask through gritted teeth, realising my mistake only after I had said the words.

Roman's face transforms into a triumphant smirk at my words. I look away from him and try as much as possible to concentrate on the host who was currently giving a speech on her calling as a philanthropist. Pfftt. As expected.

When Vanessa is done with her speech, she comes to our table and sits down on the other side of Roman.

Roman gives her a flat stare before turning his attention back to me. “Is the wine to your liking?” He asks in a soft tone.
