CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE: Ruined Proposals.

Roman crashes his lips against mine, kissing me so ferociously, that I think I might faint from lack of air.

“Ro—man?” I croak out when he finally lets me come up for air.

“I told you to stay away from the east wing of the house, princess.” Roman says in an accusatory tone while laying his head on my shoulders.

I inhale sharply, finally remembering the three rules he had listed to me the day he brought me here.

“But— why?” I ask cautiously, not totally sure if asking about his reasons is acceptable. “Who owned these things?” I ask again, referring to the furniture that was covered with cloths.

Roman sighs heavily and raises his eyes to mine. He looks like he's having a war within himself on whether to tell me or not, but when he finally looks at me with eyes shining with emotions, I know his desire to tell me the truth has outweighed his need not to.

“It belonged to my mother.” Roman says, taking his hands off me and taking a step backwards and away from me.
