“You— you destroyed my work!” I say angrily. My voice only coming back to me after Roman steps into his office and closes the door.

“Are you sure you know what you are saying, Aella?” Lily asks in a concerned tone.

“How else did you know to make your own proposals? And don't give me that bullshit story you fed, Roman.” I say through gritted teeth.

“Look, Aella, I do not want us to be enemies. How about we hang out later in the week? We could get to know each other and who knows, we might become best of friends.” Lily says with a tentative smile on her face.

I stare at her for some time trying to see what her endgame was but I find nothing but sincerity in her expression.

I almost feel bad for blaming her with no concrete evidence but then I remember that she is the only one aside from me who had access to this floor, so it had to be her who destroyed my files.

“I'm not interested in being friends with you. Stop ruining my work and I might consider being civil with you.” I say in

And I suggest you make findings before jumping to unnecessary conclusions.” Roman's mother says standing up from her position on the chair, glaring at me. “I may not know the whole story, but I know enough to confidently say that you are an evil person who doesn't deserve Roman as a son.” I say angrily. “Why are you defending him? I thought you would appreciate my efforts. Didn't he take you against your will?” Roman's mother says with a scoff and a look of disdain on her face. I have no response for that because even I didn't know the answer to that question. How did she even know that Roman took me against my will? “I suggest you leave now, while I'm being nice and respectful. I pick at my food, refusing to say a word to Roman nor have a taste of the food in front of me.“Do you want me to force-feed you, Princess?” Roman asks with a frown. I glare at him in anger as I stab my fork into the meatball, imagining it was his eyes. I must say, the thought of killing him with the fork has crossed my mind an unhealthy number of times. Roman pushes his chair back and stalks towards me as I force the meatball into my mouth. I'm not taking any chances with him because he just might do as he has said. I gulp the orange juice in front of me, hoping to divert his attention from my far from empty plate. “We are leaving tomorrow, Princess. Don't forget to pack your bags.” Roman says quietly, ignoring my attitude. I roll my eyes when he's not looking and plan to do the exact opposite of his orders. I relax a little when he leaves for his office. He places a kiss on my forehead on his way out. “Make sure you empty your plate, princess.” I manage to take a few more bi

What exactly was he sorry for? The past? Why won't anyone tell me anything? It was getting very exhausting. I don't have to wait too long though as the sound of Romans even breathing permeates the room, breaking the quiet peace. I remain still for some time before carefully rolling myself out from under his arms. I put a pillow in his arms to replace my figure just to be on the safe side. Do you think just a black and white camera footage stolen from the hotel room can indict him or bring him down?” Ethan asks, giving me a flat look. “So what are planning on doing with it?” I ask in a more confused tone. “Gathering evidence of course.” Ethan responds as he plugs in a flash into the computers USB port. “You are going to help me track this person down?” I ask in a hope filled voice. “I can't exactly let my newest partner

Most people were starting to look at me suspiciously and sooner than later, Roman is going to get me. “Fine. I pull the car I had driven to a stop in front of Ashley's house. I barely have the time to turn off the car and step out of it when Ashley comes running out of the house with a bag in her hands. I had called her on the ride down here and had given her the watered down details of what went down explaining in very clear terms that I was leaving. “Drive! Drive! Drive!” Ashley exclaims as she slips hurriedly into the front seat of the car. I do as she says and zoom off, watching as the bodyguards who are supposed to be watching her attempt to pursue our car on foot but have no such luck. “What the hell, Ashley? What was that all about?” I ask once we've gone a considerable distance away from her house. “I had to lose the guards. It's not like you would have appreciated it if I had brought them along with us now, would you?” Ashley asks while settling down further into the seat, putting on her seat belt. “What do you mean ‘us’? You aren't coming with me.” I say to Ashley with a slig

There were a couple of people involved. Oh, wait. There's one. The man that tried to kill me in the massage parlour. The person who lured me outside and pushed me into the pool in the hotel in Seattle. The person that has been sabotaging all my work right in this office.” I say angrily until I'm panting heavily.“You told me you fell into the pool.” Roman says in a deadly cool tone. “Do you need me to continue?” I ask Roman, ignoring his questions. “Ever since I woke up from this godforsaken coma, my
