(Evelyn’s POV)
I was sitting in my room when suddenly the air in the room shifted, growing cooler. A familiar shimmer of light appeared before me and when I looked up, my eyes widened. The old lady stood there, her white gown glowing faintly, her smile serene.
“Y-you’re here,” I stammered, relief washing over me. I stood quickly, ready to pour out everything that had been weighing on me.
“I’m so glad you came. I need to tell you…” The lady raised a hand, stopping me mid-sentence.
“I know…I know everything. Your fears, your worries, your doubts... I see it all. That is why I am here” She said gently, her voice calm yet powerful. I froze, my heart pounding.
(Alexander’s POV)The room fell deathly silent. Everyone exchanged nervous glances.“Daimon?” My voice cuts through the silence like a blade. Magnus swallowed hard, his voice trembling.“Daimon, the one... who is neither an angel nor the devil. He is one of the most dangerous beings to ever exist. However, he never ventured beyond his realm after being exiled, and if he has set foot on Earth after all these centuries, it signifies that… the end times are approaching”.“I will not let that happen!” My anger flared, my golden eyes glowing faintly. Magnus nodded but looked grim.“His power is not to be underestimated, Alpha
(Alexander’s POV)“What happened?” I asked, my voice firm yet tinged with unease as I scanned the room for any immediate threat.Evelyn stepped closer, her hands trembling slightly as she gestured toward the bed. On it lay a scroll made of old parchment, its edges frayed and its surface glowing faintly with an otherworldly light.“This... this appeared out of nowhere,” Evelyn said, her voice low but trembling.“I was just sitting here, going through the book Veronica gave me, when it materialized in midair and dropped onto the bed” I frowned and approached the bed cautiously, my sharp eyes studying the mysterious scroll. It exuded a strange energy, one that was neither entirely threatening nor reassuring.
(Alexander’s POV)The second those words left the messenger’s mouth, the whole room fell into stunned silence. I froze, my eyes widening as the words sunk in.“That’s impossible…I don’t have a brother!” My voice is low but trembling with disbelief. The messenger looked up, fear evident in his eyes.“He said his name was Kael. And that he was your father’s firstborn” Before, I could unleash my wolf on that messenger, my aunt stepped forward and sent the messenger away.“Alex... there’s something you need to know” Her face paled. I turned to her, my jaw tightening.“Aunt Veronica, if you know something, if you’ve been ke
(Alexander’s POV)Three days have passed since I announced a battle with Kael…One night, I was startled awake by my strong instincts, even before a frantic mindlink from a patrolling pack member arrived."Alpha King, we’re under attack! The borders have been breached!" I didn’t waste a second. I immediately mindlinked the entire pack."Everyone to your positions. Evelyn, Ashley, Alaina, Brian, Chris, meet me outside the mansion. Move quickly!"Within moments, the pack grounds were alive with movement. Evelyn emerged beside me, dressed for battle, her eyes glowing faintly with power. Ashley and Alaina followed, their expressions tense but determined. Brian and Chris flanked me, their sharp senses scanning the horizon.
(Evelyn’s POV)The moon hung low in the sky, casting its silvery glow over Crescent Valley. The ancient ground seemed to hum with an unspoken tension as Alex and I arrived with our pack warriors. Brian and Chris, along with the other warriors, kept a watchful distance, ready to step in if necessary. Alex held my hand tightly as we approached the clearing where Kael stood waiting, his figure illuminated by the moonlight.Kael was alone, his posture relaxed but his expression unreadable. His eyes, so much like Alex’s, glimmered with an unsettling mixture of bitterness and pain.“So, you came,” Kael said, his voice calm but laced with a cold edge.“I didn’t think you’d bring her along, though” His gaze flicked to me.
(Author’s POV)It's been days since Kael met Alex and Evelyn. After that, he struggles with his own emotions. So one day, he approached Alex's land but did not breach the border. He went near the waterfall, where he had often gone as a child. The sound of rushing water filled the air, its cascading streams glistening under the sunlight. This place held bittersweet memories…a sanctuary from a time when he was still just a boy, untainted by the darkness that now consumed him.Just as he was about to step closer, he froze. Two figures sat by the water’s edge, their laughter blending harmoniously with the sound of the falls. His breath hitched as recognition dawned on him.Ashley and Alaina…His sisters.
(Evelyn’s POV)The soft hum of conversation filled the living room as Ashley, Alaina, Mia and I sat together, the fire crackling warmly in the hearth. I glanced at the clock occasionally, waiting for something.Suddenly, the door of the mansion creaked open. All eyes turned toward it, and in stepped Veronica…followed by Kael. The room fell into silence. Ashley and Alaina froze in shock, their eyes wide, while Mia stared, unsure how to react. I, however, had a serene smile on my face, as I had expected this moment.I immediately mindlinked Alex."Alex, come to the living room. Now!”Within moments, Alex burst into the room, followed closely by Brian and Chr
(Evelyn’s POV)The man standing in front of us chuckled, a melodious sound that seemed to lighten the air in the room.“I am your protector, sent by the Moon Goddess herself. My name is Ezra. You might also know me as the Watcher who sent you that message” Alex’s eyes widened.“You? You’re the one who gave us the message?” Ezra nodded, his smile turning cheeky.“That’s me. And, might I say, I’m impressed you figured out part of the truth. But there’s more to come, I assure you” I blinked in disbelief.“Wait… so you’re the one watching over us?” Ezra grinned.
(Alexander’s POV)The soft glow of the moon filtered through the curtains of our bedroom. Evelyn and I lay together on our bed. Evelyn rested her head on my chest. My arms were wrapped protectively around her, holding her close as though she might slip away.Neither of us spoke for a while, both lost in our thoughts. The events of the past weeks had taken our toll, but tonight, there was an odd calm between us, a silent understanding that we needed this moment before facing what lay ahead.Evelyn gently traced circles on my chest with her fingers, her small bump pressing against me.“Do you think… our baby can feel all of this?” She asked softly, her voice tinged with both wonder and sadness. I looked down at her, my expression a mix of lov
(Author’s POV)It has been a week since Evelyn fainted. She regained consciousness, but her body was pale and fragile, her once-bright eyes dulled from exhaustion and despair. She was advised by pack doctors to stay in bed for a few days because of her weakened immune system.Alex sat beside Evelyn’s bed, his heart breaking into a thousand pieces. He reached out and gently tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear.“Evelyn,” He whispered, his voice trembling.“I’m so sorry. I should’ve protected you better” Evelyn turned her head slowly to look at him, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. Her voice, barely above a whisper, cracked as she spoke.“Alex
(Author’s POV)Over the next few days, Evelyn grew weaker. She struggled to keep up with the others, her steps slower, her voice softer. Everyone noticed, though no one dared say it outright. One evening, as she sat in the living room with Veronica and Kael, a sharp pain caused her to wince, her hand instinctively going to her stomach. Veronica noticed and frowned.“Evelyn, enough of this,” Veronica said firmly.“You’re not okay. Whatever is happening isn’t normal”.“It’s just the pregnancy” Evelyn replied weakly, trying to smile.“It’s not!” Kael said, his tone serious.
(Evelyn’s POV)The sun was shining warmly through the large windows of the mansion’s living room, casting a golden glow over everyone gathered there. I sat on the plush sofa, my laughter ringing through the space as the younger members of our group surrounded me with endless jokes and playful banter.Chris had just finished an exaggerated imitation of Magnus’s battle stance, earning hearty laughter from the group, including me.“Hey!” Magnus protested, trying to keep a straight face but failing miserably.“I don’t look like that!”“Oh, you do,” Veronica quipped from her seat by the fireplace, a smirk playing on her lips.
(Alexander’s POV)The morning sunlight filtered softly through the curtains, casting a warm, golden glow across the room. I stirred, my senses slowly coming to life. My first instinct was to tighten my hold on the warmth in my arms, and then my eyes fluttered open. There she was, Evelyn, my mate, lying peacefully against me. Her hair was spread across the pillow, her soft breathing steady, her face serene. After so many days of fear, chaos, and uncertainty, seeing her safe and sound felt like the most beautiful thing in the world. My heart swelled as I just lay there, watching her. I drank in every detail of her face, the way her lips were slightly parted, the soft curve of her cheek, the way her eyelashes rested gently against her skin. For a few moments, I did nothing but stare, letting the weight of everything we had been through fall away. Then, unable to resist, I leaned down and placed a tender kiss on her forehead.“I love you” I whispered softly, my voice filled with so much e
(Evelyn’s POV)My eyes widened in shock. I blinked a few times, trying to process the revelation."Daimon’s mother?" I repeated, my voice a mix of disbelief and curiosity. Alex nodded, his face etched with gratitude."Yes. She’s the one who helped us bring you back. She’s the reason I could get to you in time. She stood against her son to save you... to save all of us".My heart felt a strange pang. Daimon’s mother, a woman who had likely witnessed so much pain and darkness, had still chosen to help them. It was a surprising, even humbling thought. And before I could say anything else, the woman took a few slow steps forward, her eyes soft and warm. She moved as if the world around her didn’t matter, her focus solely on me.
(Author’s POV)The air was thick with anticipation as the seconds seemed to stretch on forever. The entire group stood outside the mansion, their eyes fixed on the second hole that had appeared in the sky, its swirling darkness ominous and uncertain. Everyone knew this was the moment that would determine everything.Suddenly, the hole rippled, and out of it stepped Alex, carrying Evelyn in his arms. His face was hard, his eyes filled with a mixture of exhaustion and relief. Behind him walked Daimon’s mother, her presence calm and serene amidst the chaos.A collective sigh of relief went through the group as they rushed forward to meet them. Veronica, her eyes wide with concern, immediately approached Alex.“Take her inside” She urged, her vo
(Author’s POV)Daimon’s sharp eyes darted around the crumbling chamber, his expression darkening. His monstrous army shifted uneasily, growling in confusion as the shaking intensified. Then, with a deafening crack, a hole formed in the air…just like the ones Daimon used to traverse realms. But this one was different, its edges glowing with a fierce golden light that seemed to purify the dark energy surrounding it.Daimon’s eyes narrowed in confusion and alarm. Before he could react, a figure stepped through the hole… Alex emerged, his aura radiating fury and determination, his eyes blazing with the primal rage of a protective mate. His fists were clenched, and his every step seemed to shake the ground beneath him.“Daimon!” Ale
(Evelyn’s POV)Next day, I opened my eyes to see a few of the monstrous creatures surrounding me. The second I stood up, they dragged me through the dim, foreboding corridors of Daimon’s realm. The walls seemed alive, pulsing with a dark, sinister energy. Despite my resistance, their grip was unyielding, forcing me forward into an even darker, colder chamber. The moment I stepped inside, an overwhelming heat washed over me. The center of the room was dominated by a vast pit of glowing, bubbling lava, casting an eerie orange glow over everything. Around the edges of the chamber stood Daimon’s monstrous army, their grotesque forms motionless yet intimidating. Their glowing eyes fixed on me as if awaiting a command. At the far end of the room, Daimon sat on a massive obsidian throne, his posture casua
