Chapter 4

"I don't need to say anything, actions can be useful sometimes." He says before pulling me into a deep kiss. 

My eyes widened and pushed him with all my strength. It's still the same shit feeling. I glared at him and grabbed his collar, meeting his smirking face. 

"How dare you!?"

He coldly smirked at me. "I bet you'll be doing this again, you know?"

I raised my eyebrows while holding his collar. "What did you just say?"

He grabs my hand and pushes me, giving me his cold stare that sends shivers down my spine. 

"Be sure to behave properly because I don't like an annoying person," He glared at me. My eyes were wide in shock as he left me dumbfounded. 

After that incident. I went back to my classroom to analyze my papers for the work, I made sure to put them in the brown envelope. 

"What are you doing there?" Savannah asked me. 

"Because I resigned from the Bar." I pointed out. I already told Meggay and she scolded her older brother because of what he told me. 

"So you find a new job? What is it?" Savannah piqued her interest in me while texting her boyfriend. 

"Secretary," I answered and put the envelope back in my bag. 

"Eh, that surely takes too many works." Savannah pointed out and giggled afterward, reading the text from her boyfriend. Lame. 

"Unlike you, I have to go to work to pay my mom's hospital bills," I spoke harshly and started fulfilling my plates. 

Savannah rolled her eyes, "Yeah, whatever." She said and giggles while texting her boyfriend. 

Meggay and Phoebe are busy on their plates, it's really hard to be an architect because of drawing every time but at least I have a promising future in the famous company, thanks to Meggay. 

When the bell rang, I stood up and grabbed my bag while holding my important papers. 

I rolled my eyes when I got to the parking lot, I put on my helmet and drove to the bar. 

When I went there, I held my resignation papers and went to Meggay's brother's office. 

I bowed my head and put my resignation paper. 

"Stop doing that," Kenneth spoke softly so I looked at him. He was smiling. 

"Did I overdo last night?" He asked me while wearing a small smile. 

I quickly shook my head and smiled, "No, actually thanks to you for saying those words, my mind is clear now."

"It's not your fault that I'm doing this. I don't like working at the bar because of those perverted men. I don't like risking myself just by working here..." I whispered to him and scratched the back of my neck, earning his chuckle. 

"Na-ah, I also don't like risking my little sister friend just by working here," He mumbled to me and winked afterwards. 

I laughed a little because of his wink and how adorable he was. 

"You should go, Olivia. Meggay will scold me again because of you." He laughed so I bid my goodbye and went to the hospital. 

When I got there my Mom is eating some fruits and Meggay is watching her with a smile. 

"Meggay... Mom," I smiled and leaned closer to them, hugging my Mom tight. 

"Your friend is here, giving me delicious fruits." My Mom giggled and took another bite of the apple. 

"How was it, Olivia? Talking to my brother," she asked emotionlessly and cut another slice of Apple, putting it in the plates afterwards. 

"It's fine, he thought it was his fault when it was my fault," I said softly and hugged Mom again. 

She nods, understanding my words, "Savannah told me you got a new job, what is it? Want me to help you?" She asked and put a strawberry on the plates, making my Mom giggle. 

I shook my head, "No, it is fine and it was just a paper job, The salary is so high." I spoke excitedly, Meggay tilted her head like she was confused. 

"How much is the salary?" She asked me and smiled at my Mom who was eating everything she put on the plates. 

"300,000, per month," I said making her jaw drop, my Mom also stopped eating and looked at me. 

"That's impossible, you know? Engineers and Architects have a high salary, 200,000 depends on their client, isn't this a scam? Come on, people are scammers, you know that right? How can you prove that they are not scammers? What if it puts you in danger? I can help you if it's needed, you don't need to put yourself in danger just because of money." She muttered, it was the first time hearing her telling me so many words. I looked at her deadpanned and raised my brows. . 

"It's the Secretary's job, they have a tall building with so many workers and also a hotel building. I've also talked to the CEO about this, he told me to submit legal papers and I also had an interview tomorrow, don't be so panicked." I smiled at her, trying to ease her worry but she looked at me with worry but shook her head immediately, she doesn't want to invade privacy so she doesn't talk, it's enough for me to smile happily. 

"Just... Just don't put yourself in danger, okay?" She asked me so I smiled. 

"Of course, I won't."

My Mom took it and smiled at me, hearing me say this to my friends, Meggay is like a Mother figure to all of us, so we know why she's been a worry about us. 

"That's right, my baby. You shouldn't put yourself in danger just because you want to work and provide me everything here. I'm a strong person, I won't die just because of this. I will stay by your side always and forever, my baby." My mom hugged me, Meggay was looking at us in awe, smiling because of the scene we had. 

"Thank you, Mama," I said while hugging her. "I love you so much."
