Chapter 3

I was walking back while wearing my newest uniform, I stayed all night in the hospital talking to my mom who just happened to wake up after being in a coma. 

And I also don't know how I will get back to my bar work when I misunderstood Meggay and Meggay's brother. 

It's making me embarrassed so I'm gonna find some suitable work. 

When I looked around, my feet automatically stopped and looked at a large building that looked like a hotel. 

My eyes widened with how beautiful the building is. My feet went to the glass door of the building. I read the paper on the glass door. 

We are finding new Secretary with high salary. Net salary: 300,000 per month. If you're interested in the job, kindly walk to the counter. 

My face seemed to light up there because their one month's salary was immediately used for my Mom and her chemotherapy. I can treat her more easily and I don't have to listen to Meggay anymore. 

I walked into the counter and immediately saw the counter boy. 

"Ahm, I'm interested in this job, how can I apply?" I asked the counter lady and smiled a bit, exciting. Not knowing this will backfire on me one day. 

"You need your ID applications, also your papers to finalize the things, and we can settle down with your interview," he spoke casually. He was wearing a black suit while typing fast on the keyboard, he has an ear pod and he's good-looking. 

"When will be the interview? I want this job sooner." I told him, He grinned a little making my brows rose. 

"You have to settle the papers to our CEO, you will pass the papers to himnpersonally to meet you, he is also the one who's going to interview you." He pointed out, making me pouted, I felt my heart start to beat rapidly. 

"Oh, okay. Should I meet him now?" I asked him. He gave me a nod and gave me a black card. 

"His office is on the last floor," he said and motioned to the elevator before speaking again. "Be careful of what you're doing now."

I shrugged and went to the elevator and Tap the last floor, I waited for the elevator to go up, the office is on the 60th floor so I waited a bit. 

I was thinking what the counter boy told me but the elevator opened, I stepped out of the elevator and went to the only office. 

I knocked twice and someone said 'Come in'

"Good day, I'm the interested one with the job for Secretary," I whispered. 

"Oh, someone bites the bait, huh?" His cold voice reeking in the air. 

"Huh?"

"Tomorrow," he spoke coldly, "Tomorrow get back here at the same time now and well do the interview first and you can settle with the documents."

"Oh, thank you very much," I spoke softly, he just laughed coldly. 

"Good, you may be dismissed now," he said so I left the building and finally breathed out. 

I was so nervous about him and there's something in that man that gave me a dark aura. 

When I went to the school, my eyes pierced Meggay so I ran and hugged her so right, she was stunned but she quickly wrapped her hands around me. 

"What happened? Did something happen? What can I help you with? Do you need something for your Mother?" She asked worriedly making me chuckle, she was really worried about us, why can't I see that before? 

"No, I'm sorry, Minx," I said softly, I heard his soft laugh. 

"Why are you saying sorry?" she asked softly while caressing my hair. Phoebe and Savannah were looking at me with confused faces. 

"I was a bad person until now... I'm sorry for misunderstanding you..."

She laughs softly, "It's fine to me, Avery. You know that I understand all of you..."

I pouted because of how she was nice to everyone and protected us. 

"Thank you."

A time passes and went to our class break so I went down to the canteen to buy some edible. 

When I was running I bumped into someone that caused me to fall on the floor so I looked irritatedly at the person and it was the Jerk yesterday! River Ax Hanahaki! 

He lends his hand so I stood up and rolled my eyes. 

"I'm sorry." I raised my eyebrows and crossed my arms. 

He sighed. "I wasn't even doing it on purpose, Olivia."

My face twisted, "But still, you need to say sorry because you bumped into me." I said disgustedly and scolded him, he looked like a madman and raised an eyebrow at me. 

"But I don't want to say sorry." He pointed out and gritted his teeth so I gritted my teeth too. 

It was like there's lightning in our face, ready to fight head-on. 

"So, that's enough reason for being a huge jerk who can't say sorry to someone who he bumped on." I challenged him so he got even more angry and came closer to me, he came closer to my face, making me breathe hard. 

His handsome face is getting darker because of what I said, I rolled my eyes because I need his apology for bumping me. 

"Jerk, huh? You need to say sorry too for accusing me of being a jerk." He pointed out so I raised my eyebrows and scowled at him. 

He scoffs at my actions, "But you didn't even say sorry first, so you're a freaking jerk." I spoke to him and smiled forcefully. 

"Take that back."

"Take what? Your ego?"

"TAKE. THAT. BACK," he said coldly and gritted his teeth, veins popped out to his neck so I smirked. 

"Your pride is surely high and it causes you to be a professional jerk." I teased again making his face get darker. 

"I told you to take that back."

"What will you do if I say no, huh?"

"I don't need to say anything, actions can be useful sometimes," he says before pulling me into a deep kiss.
