Romeo doesn’t answer her this time as he steps out of her arms, turns and makes his way toward the battlefield. He didn’t want to leave her but he still had a responsibility to protect Skylar and she was still in the hands of the enemy, the more Romeo thought about it the more he was convinced that the CEO Vlad was indeed part vampire, if not, he was at least part supernatural.
Romeo doesn't want to leave the prospects of a family, but as a wave of weakness passes through him, he knows that without Skylar being safe in Julian's arms, he will suffer. Romeo pushes all those emotions to the side, knowing what Archer and the others are expecting of him.

SKYLAR I regretted it as soon as the challenging words had left my mouth; he moved quickly, nearly as quickly as Prince Romeo does, and before I could even scream, he has pulled me down on the bed and is lying over me with one hand around my throat and the other over my mouth. SKYLARMy eyes go wide and I jump to my feet when I see Master Archer and Master Devlin walk in with a battered and what seemed to be an only just alive Prince Romeo. ROMEOAfter Nathaniel beat and knocked me out, I take a sharp breath in as I was pulled back to consciousness by a wave of power that swept out over the entire battlefield.
