As our bodies finally start to calm, I remove my fangs and slide my tongue over the skin, healing it. Julian soon follows as he does the same before pulling back and sliding his hand on my cheek once more and saying.
“You are my life, Skylar. Nothing is more important to me than you. I love you.”
For the first time, I feel the truth in his words as he opens up his mind and floods me with every emotion he is feeling; I smile with tears in my eyes as Iris purrs in my head and she makes him jump and his eyes go wide as her tail slips out and wraps around him, pulling us even tighter against him. ROMEO Before I can decide anything, the compulsion running through me takes hold and takes over. With a new goal embedded in my mind, I make my way silently through the corridors, making my way toward the human with the surface passkey. I come up behind the first human. I wrap one arm around his chest, pinning his arms while slipping my hand over his mouth and pulling his head to the side. My fangs lengthen, and I sink them into his neck. I drink greedily my bloodthirst surfacing, only as soon as I swallow the first mouthful of blood, I pull my fangs out and shove the human away and into the wall, knocking him out as I quickly wrap my hands around my throat as it burns. I try to take breath after breath, but the burning intensifies, making it even harder to breathe. I collapse to my knees, throwing out one hand to catch myself from hitting the floor. SKYLAR Julian made a few phone calls, and it wasn’t long before someone he seemed to know turned up to drive my Berkeley back to the castle while Julian took me back on his bike. It surprised me at how good it felt to be on the bike, at how free it made me feel. Even though I had been travelling for weeks, I hadn't really realised that I had stayed so close to the castle and to Julian. It only took us a couple of days to return on the bike.
