Lydia’s POV

I stared in silence for a few seconds before I chuckled.

“Yeah, fat chance of a maid getting involved with another supernatural,”

“Lydia, I’m serious,” Lily sighed.

“I am too,” I dropped the brush and stared at my reflection in the mirror “There’s no way my mum was involved with another supernatural. Besides, which supernatural would I be?”

“A witch? A vampire? A fairy?” I chuckled as I shook the ridiculous motion from my head. “I don’t have a scrap of magic or the slightest desire for blood.

“How do you explain your powers?”

I walked out of the closet, suddenly frustrated and tired of the conversation.

“Which powers Lil? Which powers? This is just a glitch in the system. Maybe because I’m mated to the rogue king or maybe the moon goddess made a mistake,” I turned around and sighed, “Have you considered that? Something this inconsequential doesn’t make me special."

“Lydia, you have other abilities,” Lily said softly but I could tell her resolve was waning.
