Damien POVI was not impressed in the slightest. In fact I was getting pissed off just thinking about it. I expected more from her. I placed my trust in her. Stephanie looked guilty, not saying a word and it irked me. I closed my eyes for a moment, not wanting to yell at her. I had to control my anger, else I would say things I did not mean. “What do you mean the factory was closed for a while?” I growled, opening my eyes to stare at her. After going through the documents containing the inflow and outflow of money in the pack, I noticed we were not having as much inflow as the outflow which was strange. The factory was still functioning so I suspected maybe someone was stealing from me, not expecting Stephanie to drop such a bomb on me. The factory had been closed for a while. She shrugged. “Exactly what I meant. The machines needed some repairs so I've been searching for a good technician to take care of it and had not gotten any yet,” she explained. I growled in anger, not abl
Leah POV The children dragged Connor away while I quietly walked beside him. Meanwhile the other members of the pack bowed as we walked past them. They could tell I was new. They took him to a small cottage a little bit further away from the rest of the pack house. When Connor entered inside without saying a word to me, I hesitated. Am I allowed to go in with him or should I wait here? My questions are answered when he comes out again. “You are welcome here, Princess. Come on,” he motioned for me to go in before entering the house once again. I glanced around. There was a little garden just beside the house. The spot where it was located looked too specific like it was designed for this person alone so I wondered who the person was. “Let's go,” I told Evelyn and entered the house. I didn't know what I was expecting but what I saw when I entered the house exceeded my expectations. The interior was beautifully done. The windows were draped with soft but beautiful lavender l
Leah POV I stood there, not willing to move with my heart pounding loudly in my chest as my eyes locked onto them. They were still locked in a tight embrace, completely unaware of our presence. Stephanie whispered something to Damian and his stony expression changed. The sight of it tormented me. I tried to ignore the searing pain in my chest that felt like it was about to consume me. But it was too strong. What is this? Was I being jealous? I asked myself. I glared at him when suddenly Damian's gaze shifted and he turned to look at me. My breath seized as his piercing amber eyes bore into me, as if trying to uncover my deepest secrets. I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment as he noticed we had all seen his show of affection with Stephanie. I quickly averted my gaze, unable to withstand his intense scrutiny any longer. Stephanie also noticed our presence, approached us. “What are you doing here?” She asked me, glancing at Tessa behind me with a look of disapproval. “You
Damian POV As I walked, my frustrations reached its peak with my mind clouded in irritation. The lack of workers had already put me in a foul mood, but what irked me even more was Anne's snappy attitude. At first, when I saw her, I suddenly felt a foreign feeling within me. I was sure it was not my feelings but one of another. Could it be her? It was a strong feeling to let go and it was Jealousy. I suddenly became jealous although I didn't know who I was jealous about. I need a run, I told myself as we left for the mansion. Stephanie was behind me but right now, I wanted to be alone and clear my thoughts. “I'll meet you in the house later. I'm going for a run,” I told her and sprinted into the woods before she could try to stop me. I pulled my clothes away, shifted in less than a minute and sprinted, letting my wolf out. He wanted to be in control so I let him. As we ran, the wind rushed against our face as the thoughts of the day consumed my thoughts. The earthly scent of
Leah POV We stepped through the front door of the mansion, my heart heavy with disappointment. I had returned with Evelyn, hopeful that Connor would come back after leaving but he never did. He came at first to take me and stood up to leave. Evelyn had asked him to come back so we could leave together but he refused. I was crestfallen, and tried to hide my disappointment during the journey back. As I entered the familiar hallway, I couldn't help but shake from the tension in the air. My footsteps were muted as I walked. My mood was somber and I longed for a moment of peace without thinking about anyone but myself. A moment where I could just live as me and no one else. “We're here, Luna,” Evelyn announced as I passed my room. I stopped, whispered my gratitude and entered my room. My eyes caught the magic book on the bed and I gasped and quickly closed the door before Evelyn could see it. I picked it up and went to the small hole at the back of my bed where I had hidden the
Damian POV“I… I…” she stuttered, looking confused and shocked. I knew she wasn't expecting the question but why was she confused? She looked everywhere like there was something trying to attack her. A twinkle of green glowed in her blue eyes, making me wonder if there was another Anne. Her behavior contradicted everything I had heard about her. “What? You don't want to go?” Stephanie asked her. “I do but I think it would be better if I stayed here. He needs to learn to live without his precious daughter. I might visit him after everything,” she said with a loud sigh. Her confused expression from earlier was gone and it looked like she was really missing her father. “Still, he is your father. You should want to see him at least once,” Connor murmured. She pursed her lips. “I do but not now. I'm still getting used to the pack. If I leave now, I might not want to come back,” she said jokingly. “Then stay there,” Stephanie murmured and everyone became quiet. “I'll take my leave n
Leah POV I was waiting patiently for the full moon. The night was far gone and the wind was chilly. I couldn't go outside and had to do the illusion spell in here. The first time I did it with Anne, I had done a quick spell not sure if it would work and it did. But right now, I was going to do the full circle and if possible try to lock my feelings. I did not want what happened to me with Thomas to happen again as I could feel my heart growing soft. For which of the men, I wasn't sure but I knew what I felt. After the long wait, I saw the moon getting full and quickly went to the middle of my room. I was thankful my bed was at the end of the room. It would have been a hassle to try and move it while trying to do the spell. I picked up the book, went through it again just in case I had forgotten something. Nop, I didn't. Everything was ready. I took a piece of chalk and stood in the middle of the room and drew a circle. It was not a perfect circle but it would do. The next
Damian POVI walked out of the room, berating myself for what had just happened in there. I had gotten an erection just by looking at her. What was I? A kid? It was annoying to say the least. I went there to confront her due to what I had seen last night and instead she had enchanted me with her beauty, getting me aroused. Anne was becoming more suspicious. Her attitude was different and I had ignored it before but I didn't think I should ignore it again. In a split second, I saw two faces and one of them made my wolf growl happily. It felt like I had just seen my mate. Who was she? I hope Alpha Elijah was not playing any games with me. “Connor,” I called out as I walked to my office. Seconds later, I heard his sleepy voice. “Yes, Alpha,” he answered. “Come to my office,” I sent a message to Connor through the mind link, then I entered the office and sat down, waiting for him. His room was not really far from mine so I knew when he would arrive and decided to pour myself a drin
