Damian POV

“I… I…” she stuttered, looking confused and shocked. I knew she wasn't expecting the question but why was she confused?

She looked everywhere like there was something trying to attack her. A twinkle of green glowed in her blue eyes, making me wonder if there was another Anne. Her behavior contradicted everything I had heard about her.

“What? You don't want to go?” Stephanie asked her.

“I do but I think it would be better if I stayed here. He needs to learn to live without his precious daughter. I might visit him after everything,” she said with a loud sigh.

Her confused expression from earlier was gone and it looked like she was really missing her father.

“Still, he is your father. You should want to see him at least once,” Connor murmured. She pursed her lips.

“I do but not now. I'm still getting used to the pack. If I leave now, I might not want to come back,” she said jokingly.

“Then stay there,” Stephanie murmured and everyone became quiet.
