Leah POV I was waiting patiently for the full moon. The night was far gone and the wind was chilly. I couldn't go outside and had to do the illusion spell in here. The first time I did it with Anne, I had done a quick spell not sure if it would work and it did. But right now, I was going to do the full circle and if possible try to lock my feelings. I did not want what happened to me with Thomas to happen again as I could feel my heart growing soft. For which of the men, I wasn't sure but I knew what I felt. After the long wait, I saw the moon getting full and quickly went to the middle of my room. I was thankful my bed was at the end of the room. It would have been a hassle to try and move it while trying to do the spell. I picked up the book, went through it again just in case I had forgotten something. Nop, I didn't. Everything was ready. I took a piece of chalk and stood in the middle of the room and drew a circle. It was not a perfect circle but it would do. The next
Damian POVI walked out of the room, berating myself for what had just happened in there. I had gotten an erection just by looking at her. What was I? A kid? It was annoying to say the least. I went there to confront her due to what I had seen last night and instead she had enchanted me with her beauty, getting me aroused. Anne was becoming more suspicious. Her attitude was different and I had ignored it before but I didn't think I should ignore it again. In a split second, I saw two faces and one of them made my wolf growl happily. It felt like I had just seen my mate. Who was she? I hope Alpha Elijah was not playing any games with me. “Connor,” I called out as I walked to my office. Seconds later, I heard his sleepy voice. “Yes, Alpha,” he answered. “Come to my office,” I sent a message to Connor through the mind link, then I entered the office and sat down, waiting for him. His room was not really far from mine so I knew when he would arrive and decided to pour myself a drin
Leah POV This was not how I expected my day to go. Being in such close proximity with Damian was not good for me. My wolf was drawn to him like a moth to flame. Whenever I stayed in close proximity with him over a long period of time, I felt her trying to burst out. I felt strange too, like this was where I was supposed to be. In his arms. But I knew it couldn't be possible because he was in love with someone else. I could feel the weight of his suspicions growing by the day. The once calm and intense stare was slowly being replaced by piercing glances, filled with doubt and suspicion. It was as clear as day that I had to start taking necessary precautions if I wanted to escape his prying eyes and clutches. I had always been a cautious person, but now, it was heightened to a new level. Every step I took was calculated, every word I uttered, meticulously chosen. I was aware that even the smallest misstep could lead to my death. I would not let that happen - not after all I had be
Leah POVI turned around to find the owner of the calm voice. It was a young woman, standing at the counter with a smile on her face. She was very beautiful and looked elegant. She was also holding a baby in her arms with a tired look on her beautiful face. “Amelia,” one of them called out. Who was she? She was staring at me with a weird expression. “I'm Amelia, my Luna, and the healer of this pack,” she introduced herself, bringing forth her hand for a handshake. I accepted the handshake, not expecting to see her. She looked so young, I wondered if she was even up to twenty. How did she become a healer so fast? I knew there were young healers but she had to be the youngest I have come in contact with. “I'm Le… I mean Anne,” I said. What the hell? I almost gave out my real name. “It seems you have caused quite a bit of ruckus,” she said, glancing at the mob of people listening in on our conversation. It seemed that way. I walked back to the sitting area and sat down. She joined
Damian POV We got to the mansion while I sent a message to Connor. We needed all hands if this plan was going to work. Stephanie was already waiting for me when we arrived. I had told her the message I got through the mind link the minute I got it. “What's the plan?” She walked up to me. “Let's go inside,” I grumbled, going into the house. “What is she doing with you?” She hissed in annoyance. Without turning, I knew who she was talking about. “Not now,” I told her, going straight into my office. They joined me, including Anne, which I was not expecting. Marcus gave me a look and I ignored him. “Where the hell is Connor?” I grumbled. Just then, he entered the office, looking disheveled and smelling of a female. Was he… I lost the train of thought and gave Anne a sharp look. She glanced at him but turned away after seeing how he looked. Her sense of smell might be dull but I was sure she could smell the foreign fragrance on him. Why was I even thinking about that? It wa
Leah POVToday started awfully but it ended in a good way. I couldn't tell if it was because Damian had given me the factory to manage or because of the acceptance I got from his men earlier, but I was happy. As I walked to my room, humming a sweet song, I remembered Stephanie's face when Damian had called my name. She looked so pissed off, I was shocked she did not blow up out of anger. I giggled just by thinking about it. It's been a long time since I played a trick on her and I felt like doing so again just to get a reaction out of her. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Evelyn looking at me with a worried expression. I could tell she was being concerned by my outbursts. My stomach rumbled and I remembered that I was a little hungry after everything that happened today. I turned to Evelyn. “Can you get me a plate of food from the kitchen?” I implored. She nodded and left immediately without hesitation.Evelyn was still wary of me. She did exactly what I told her to do and was al
Leah POV Evelyn sniffed the air, after a while she stopped. “I don't think anyone has been here today. Why don't we go to the pack house?” She suggested. “Alright,” I agreed and we left for the pack house. I was planning on spending my time in the pack house anyways later on. I didn't want to see Damian and Stephanie. We reached the pack house, passing through Tessa's house. I noticed she was also not at home. Was there something going on that I didn't know about? On entering the pack house, I saw Marcus speaking to a group of people. “What is going on there?” I whispered to Evelyn. She shrugged and got closer. Marcus was addressing the group about the factory. I noticed Damian took the gem making business very seriously. Why would he give it to Stephanie to take care of if he knew she would not be able to take care of it? I shook my head. Now, I'm designated to take care of it till he comes back. I aimed to do a good job and make him speechless. There was also a part of me
Damian POV“We received a message from Connor,” one of my men announced. It's been two days since Connor left and we have been waiting for a message from him. “That was fast,” I murmured. I was thinking it would take at least a week for them to make their move. “He said the wolves have started moving and they are heading this way,” the man continued. I sat straight in my seat. “Why are they coming this way?” I asked him, surprised. For the last few weeks, they have been hovering in the woods and close to the Risenmoon Pack. Why were they changing directions? Did they find out our plans? So many questions were going through my head. I didn't want to lose the mined lead to anyone and could not afford to. Alpha Elijah would not be mining another lead anytime soon. “I do not know, Alpha,” he answered. “He said they should be getting closer by now and asked that we go to the borders and wait for them,” the man stood up after giving the message. “Thank you,” I told him. He bowed and l
