Connor POV

I couldn't sit and wait around any longer. I had to find out the truth no matter what. 

I didn’t know what I would find although my mind was already whispering to me who it was that stole the gem. I knew, but I refused to admit to it. 

I waited outside the factory until the moon rose in the sky, then waited for all the workers to begin to come out. 

I was waiting, not for all of them, but for one. 

Using the shadows, I hid myself in the dark just behind the factory, and it took a while but I finally saw him walk outside. 

He was scrawny and thin and looked very malnourished. 

Anne never starved her workers so I wondered why he was looking the way he was. I waited for him to head out into the woods before trailing behind him, stealthily.
