Leah POV
I barged out of his room, roughly bumping my shoulder with Lucia as I walked past his door. I didn’t bother to spare her a glance because of how enraged I was. It was all her mate’s doing anyway and besides, I had nothing to say to her.
As I walked angrily through the corridors, I bumped into Connor.
“Hey there,” he greeted and held me by my shoulders.
I felt cornered. I was looking for a place to vent and release all my anger, and as I looked at Connor, into his warm eyes, the thought of telling him crossed my mind, but I quickly dismissed it.
“Where are you off so early? And you look pissed, Anne. What’s the matter?” He asked me.
I was already tired of hearing the question 'What happened?' all the time. It was not like if I told anyone, help would come. It would only compound the whole problem.
“Damian said you had found the gems?” I a
Alpha Elijah POVMy daughter and Damian have been living very well together and I was extremely happy about it. The mined lead I had signed off to Damian was also being used to produce exquisite weaponry that I had never seen before.Damian was really talented and I liked that about him. He might be the Alpha of Rogues, but he didn’t have their personality or pattern of thinking which was always towards criminal tendencies.I was about to begin my meeting with my Alpha subjects, Alphas that I had put in place to lead and direct some of my territories when a guard came to me and whispered something in my ears.“Hmm, you can ask him to wait for me in my study, I will meet him after I am through with this gathering,” I ordered the guard. He bowed slightly and left to do as I had just instructed.“Now, we can begin,”The announcer said. One Alpha head sto
Alpha Elijah POVI stood staring out into the open night sky. The stars were twinkling and surrounded the beautiful crescent moon. The soft breeze caressed my face as it whooshed past me on the balcony of my room. My curtains danced in response to its soft caress.I let out a soft sigh. That Alpha, what was his name again? Ah! Thomas. He sure said a lot. I thought deeply.Turning to the door, I called. “Guard.,”One of the betas stationed at the entrance of the chambers came running in. He bowed when he got to where I stood.“Yes, King!”“Go and get my advisor. I need him here as soon as possible,” I said to the guard. He bowed and left to do as I had said.“What if this Thomas actually brings something, proof against Damian? This would break the years-long trust I have placed in the young Rogue Alpha. My thoughts were whirlin
Leah POVI stormed out of his room and stayed at the door for a while, trying so hard to keep myself from crying out loud but it was hard. A lump had already built in my throat. I bent down right outside his door and sobbed for a while before standing up, sniffing as I walked back to my room like nothing happened.I got to my room and closed the door, then stayed there in the silence and darkness just crying my eyes out. My chest was aching, my head was hurting and my heart was shattered. It was so easy for Thomas to discard me so easily. Nothing that we shared could compare to his thirst for power and greatness. He didn’t care about anyone except for himself. It really broke me because I now felt very stupid to have fallen in love with him in the first place. To have let him rule my heart. I used my clothes to muffle my sobs and lay down on the bare ground just sobbing.I should have done something when he first
Thomas POVI was strolling through the corridor feeling very happy with myself of course. My plans were already falling into place, little by little. How could I not be happy?I decided that I could at least pay Leah a little visit. I went to her room and tapped on her door but there was no response on the other end.I had sent Stephanie to find anything that Leah used to cast her spells but even she had not reported back to me.Useless lots! To get something done, one has to do it themselves. I thought to myself and pushed open her room door.It was very large. I scoffed, she was enjoying some pretty good privilege with her disguise. I must commend her for using her head at least. Now that she wasn’t around, this was a very good opportunity for me to finally get what I was looking for. The first place I started searching was her closet. Women, no matter the creature, always hid things in their close
Alpha Elijah POVI kept staring at the spell book Alpha Thomas had brought. “Please, do not mention about me to anyone. Especially if you will be summoning that Rogue Alpha Damian.” Thomas had said. “I will be sure to keep our meeting as discreet as possible,” I assured him. “I am very grateful. Remember, if you need me, I will be readily at your service,” He said and gave a slight bow.“But please, something bothers my mind,” I was very worried. “What is that?” He asked me.“Why do you think Damian would do this to me?” I asked him, angry at myself for easily trusting a Rogue despite all the warnings from my council of Alphas. “Why else if not to take your land and territories!” Thomas exclaimed. “I don't wish to paint anyone bad but it is what it is, Your Majesty. I would love you to check the authenticity of what I brought to you before we have further meetings. I pride loyalty and honesty above all else and will only offer that. The moment I found out about it, I was very sh
Thomas POV “I have done what needs to be done,” Alpha Elijah said to me, a solemn expression on his face. “It’s all good, your majesty. It’s all for the best. War and death is the only way we can punish such a crime. He wants to usurp your power and you must not turn a blind eye to it,” I said. “Well, that is indeed true, but what now do I do about my daughter?” He asked. That was what worried him the most at the moment. Where his daughter Anne was and what could have happened to her? I could sense it. I also had a plan for that of course. I place my hands on his shoulder, “Do not worry about that now, it is a piece of cake. I promise to help you in this war and also to help return your daughter to you, safe and sound,” I promised him.He looked a bit relieved after my reassurances, but I knew he was definitely not going to sit still and wait for me to return his daughter to him. So I changed tactics. “You don't need to worry too much about anything except your daughter. You can
Leah POV My heart was pounding heavily and my eyes were misty and blinded by the tears that were glistening in them. I heard those words from his mouth directly that the imposter must be killed. I had waited all these days for his return so that I could tell him the truth, but I was too late. I used my hands to cover the sobs that threatened to escape my mouth. I had to leave immediately because I knew that if I didn’t, then I would be caught and killed. The wolf criers all began to howl. It was a signal that a general meeting was to be held and every werewolf had to be available and present for the meeting. No one was excluded.“It would be dangerous if I attended the meeting because they would find out about me and have me killed.” I thought. I ran back to my room and packed only a few things. My potions, since the book was stolen, and a few of my clothes. Just two sets, then I packed my hair to a tight up-do and then I sneaked out of the room. While everyone would be busy and
Damian POV“But Alpha Damian, how could you have let this happen to us? An imposter right under our noses and you have been having an affair with her!” One of the council of werewolf members shouted. My blood was hot with anger. They had no right to talk about her in that manner. She had been nothing but kind to them and if she had any ulterior motive, she wouldn't have stayed for as long as she stayed despite knowing the kind of danger she would be in once the truth came out about her real identity. “You have forgotten so easily everything she put in to make us what we are. We owe her some of our wealth because of her intricate designs on the gems that helped us make very good deals with neighboring territories,” I pointed out. “Those gems were stolen.” One spat. “But now, they have been recovered,” I threw at him. I watched Connor from the corner of my eyes. He was silent. He did not utter a word or say anything and it annoyed me so much. They all weren’t seeing things from my
