Leah POV
I woke up to Damian cuddling me tightly. His warm body felt like the best blanket ever. He was huge with muscles all over yet I love how he felt on my body.
Slowly, I pulled away from him. His muscles tensed up and he pulled me back into the bed. Glancing at his face, I could tell he was still in deep slumber. It was also the early hours of the morning.
I didn't want to wake him up but if I was going to make the potion I wanted, then I had to leave now. Damian would not let me go if he knew where exactly I wanted to go. He was super protective of me.
I lifted his hands, pulling my way out of his embrace and stood up from the bed. Finally, I could leave. I went to the bathroom to wash my face, did my business, and came out.
Our clothes were discarded on the floor, beside the bed so I picked them up and threw them into the laundry basket. I went to the closet, pulled out a long dress and wore it before leaving the roo
Damian POV Thomas' expression changed. I didn't want him getting the wrong impression of Anne so I tugged her arm, pulling her away from him. She followed me quietly and we went to the room. This place seemed to be the only place where we could speak freely. “What's your problem with Thomas?” I raised my eyebrow. I could tell there was a grudge, one Thomas may or may not know because Anne didn't behave like this despite her temper. I expected it of Stephanie but not her. “I don't like him,” she grumbled, wrapping her arms around her chest with an annoyed expression. “Is there any particular reason?” I walked to the bed and sat down. After waking up and not seeing her, I panicked for a moment. Now that she was here, the knot in my heart had been untied and I could breathe better. “He talks about women in a demeaning manner,” she grumbled again. I could understand her. As a princess, she must have had her fair share of arrogant men, especially Alphas. Thomas was no different. He
Thomas POVDamian nodded, a smirk forming on his face. He seemed to think I was shocked about the mined lead. What shocked me was his gullible self. How could he bring someone to his factory like that?As an Alpha, he should not trust anyone yet he made the first mistake as soon as I told him about an alliance. This was why he was unfit to lead this pack. But he was smart, I'd give him that. I would never have imagined that he would hide his pack. If I didn't find out, I would have thought his pack stayed in the mansion due to how big and beautiful the mansion is.The blacksmith bowed to me before turning to Damien. He had a strange smell. I couldn't smell the pack on him which was strange. Don't tell me…The blacksmith was a rogue. How hilarious. I stifled the smile trying to form.“Alpha Thomas, this is John, the blacksmith,’’ he introduced us. John nodded in acknowledgment. He didn't look p
Leah POVLucia was different. She tried her best in getting close to me, I could see her efforts and even when I tried to push her away, she refused to leave. I glanced at the blacksmith's shop to see Damian and Thomas speaking.Evelyn brought the files of the factory to me. I had not gone through them for a while and needed to take note of every gem.“I wish I could do something like this in my pack,” Lucia said while I went through the documents. The amount of gems produced yesterday had already been recorded, making everything easier for me.Tessa was beside me, waiting for me to ask her whatever I couldn't understand. She still had the mindset that I was still very new to all these.“You should leave with Tessa. Tessa, why don't you show her around?” I asked her. Tessa looked at Lucia with uncertainty written all over her face.No one wanted to be with the visitors. I was sure Thomas must have be
Damian POVAnne dropped the arrow and I picked it up and looked at it. When did the attack turn to using archers? I must be dreaming. Glancing around the woods, and yet seeing no one was really annoying. Thomas stood by my side, waiting for my order but I couldn't say anything. I stood still. Whoever had shot the arrow was still in the woods and closer than we thought. With a little bit of patience, I would be able to find out. Suddenly I heard a little rustling of leaves by my right side and I took off, running towards the sound. Thomas followed me. I had not seen anyone yet but I trusted my instincts. A wolf suddenly jumped out of the tree and started running. I caught the scent of her and frowned. It seemed familiar like she was a member of my pack. It motivated me and I increased my pace. Did that mean that there were moles in my pack? She kept running, jumping all the fallen branches and moving south. It was indeed a member of the pack. No one knew all these parts of the word
Damian POV“I would like to see the girl,” Anne said later into the night. We were on the bed. I was supposed to go and check up on her but since Stephanie had given me her word, I decided to wait. She was the Beta and despite her hatred for Anne, I wanted to give her the opportunity to act like one. Besides, Marcus was there too.“Why? Is there any need?” I asked her. She shrugged like she knew something I didn't. I moved over, so we were looking at each other properly.“There is something on your mind and I know it. What is it?”“I think she might speak more to less violence. Stephanie might be too hard on her. She is still a little girl,” she explained, making me frown. This was the person that wanted to kill her a few hours ago. How could she be compassionate at this moment? Unless she had an idea on how to make her speak.“So, you want to go to he
Leah POVThe little girl had something to say, it was obvious and I had a hunch on who it was that might have shot the arrow at me. It was a near hit so that person had to be good in weaponry.“Anne,” Stephanie raised her voice.I heard Damian growl at her immediately. Then he moved to me and picked me up by my arm, “Let’s leave it to Stephanie, I believe that she knows how to handle this,” He said.I sighed in frustration and allowed him to take me out of the dungeon. When we got back to the room, I could not contain my anger.“I was almost there, she was about to say something,” I muttered to myself as I kept pacing about.Damian sighed and came to hold me by my shoulders. He used his index finger to move the strands of my hair that had covered a part of my face, his gaze, affectionate and soothing.“It’s alright Anne, you don’t n
Stephanie POVThat small brat would have said something to Anne. I thought angrily and ran my hands through my hair. Pacing around, I decided I had to tell Damian first before she did and so I went to find him. I was walking through the corridor when I heard someone say something from Anne’s room. I placed my ear to listen more carefully because I thought that I was starting to hear things. She was muttering some incoherent words. “Spells?” I asked myself. Something was wrong and I was going to find out. I walked past her door and met him just coming back. “Damian,” I called him. He turned to look at me. He was still mine, and I would make sure I got rid of her for trying to take what was mine.“The girl, she died,” I said. His eyes went wide in shock. “Yes, she tried to escape and ended up killing herself in the woods because I was after her,” “Why would she do such a thing? She was just a child,” He said a bit sorrowfully. “Anne, she witnessed her die,” I said to him. I
Leah POV“Have we been able to meet up the number of the stolen gems?” I asked Evelyn.I was very exhausted. I had been working my butt off but there was more to it than just being dedicated. I needed to get my mind off a lot of things that were bothering me, among which was the way my wolf was awakening.“Princess...” Evelyn called out my name.I blinked a few times before looking at her.“I lost you there for some minutes. Are you sure that you don’t want to rest?” She asked.I sighed, “No, we have to get this done,”She nodded, turned back to resume her work then looked back at me, “The gems are still a little far behind but we hope to get it completed as soon as possible. With how much work we are putting in, of course, it will work out.” She piped in.“And one more thing,”I looked at her wit
Leah POV Everything seemed to happen so fast. I saw my father claw at Thomas’s chest and I saw a very angry Damian on top of him. “Damian!” I yelled and tried to run to him to stop him but I was too late. He tore out Thomas’ throat. It was so deep that his bone was visible and I watched as he bled out, leaving me scared out of my senses. It felt like everything happened only yesterday but it’s been three months now.Damian professed his love to me once again, Lucia left without a trace, and Evelyn, Connor, and I finally went back to being friends. I apologized to Connor and he also apologized for seeing all that Steph did and keeping quiet about it.Today was a day to celebrate. I had on my head a crown made with beautiful wild flowers and my dress was very beautiful as well. There was going to be another mating ceremony, my first real mating ceremony as Leah Grey Ortega who would now become Luna Leah Ortega Leroy; The Luna of the Silverback pack, which began to progress again aft
Thomas POV My guards, both betas and omegas were already prepared for the war. All I needed was to get Alpha Elijah’s full support so we could finally take Damian down, and then I'd end the King's life as well. There was no time for sentiments. All that mattered to me was to end all this soon. I stepped outside. Damian and Anne have been away since yesterday already. Well, I didn't care. Nothing would change. Stephanie told me she had taken care of Anne, so there was no need to worry. I realized after a while that Lucia was not around. “Where could she have gone?” I thought but then later dismissed it. I went by my day doing every other thing and trying to get my head together. I was supposed to be in a meeting with the head of my werewolf troupes. Just then, the door to the room opened and Lucia walked in. “Where have you been?” I asked her. The sun had risen in the sky and was hot on all our skin.“You’re late,” I chastised.“I’m sorry, I just had somewhere to be,” She said
Leah POV My head hurt so much and my eyes stung from the light that penetrated the room. Everywhere ached so badly. I could still feel the stinging sensation on my cheeks as a result of the hard slaps the Alpha King landed on my face during his interrogation. I didn't blame him entirely though, he was just scared and was only acting like a father. The only one to be blamed was Thomas. He was the two-time conniving schemer that made all this happen.I winced as I tried to sit properly. I felt a hand on my shoulder. “It’s alright darling, you can go lie back down,” I looked sideways to see a female omega dressed in white. She was definitely one of those weird ones who stuck that sharp thing in my arm. I flinched from her touch. “An Alpha was here to see you earlier. You didn't wake up when you were supposed to but the moment he stepped in, you moved. But he has gone back outside now,” She added. “An Alpha?” I tried to think.Could it be Damian? Just then, the door burst open, and
Alpha Elijah POVI went back to my study and just lowered myself on the seat. My hands were shaking a lot. I had a secret I had kept for a long time and looking into her eyes now, it seemed like that secret was about to be exposed. I never thought that in my wildest dreams I’d ever be able to see her again or hear of her again but now, everything was about to change. John came into my study, “Alpha Elijah, why did you suddenly call for the doctors?” He asked. I looked at him not knowing what to say.He had stayed in the pack the longest and though there were times when we had our squabbles and all, I still thought very highly of him and he's been with me through the toughest of times. It was why I entrusted Anne to him and sent him off to the Silverback pack in case something were to happen to her because of Damian’s reputation. “She might be the child I've been looking for all these while,” I said to him. The look on his face said it all. He was so shocked. “That can’t be. We
Leah POV When I woke up, my whole body hurt from being moved around a lot and my head was basically splitting. I tried to stand up and move but my hands and legs were chained.“Silver chains!” I exclaimed. It basically weakened a werewolf and left them defenseless. How was the Alpha able to get something like this unless he didn’t just mine lead alone? I thought.Looking around, it was so dark and the floor was so solid that its sharp rocky parts pierced my skin. I also felt very different. My wolf was more active which only meant one thing, I was back to being Leah.“Oh no!” I exclaimed. Just then I heard the screeching sounds of a gate being moved over a very hard floor. “Who is there?” I asked. Just then, two male wolves walked in. One of them wore a large flowing garment on his body and walked majestically. Alpha Elijah. There was also someone I knew next to him. “John the blacksmith.” My brows creased in confusion. I was not at the Silverback pack but at the Risenmoon
Stephanie POV I walked angrily and banged the door to his room. Damian was a lost cause now. Thomas was right, I should just punish them both. Damian would never again love me like he used to. He just said it himself and I would never forget it or forgive him. I decided to go for a run. As I walked out of the main gates, ready to sprint forward, my eyes caught the movement of something in the dark or rather, someone. The silhouette was running fast towards the gates. I felt anger course through me. It must be Leah. I ran towards her and then tackled her to the ground.“Please, don’t kill me,” She shouted.“What?” I couldn't understand that. Leah would have definitely fought back and why would she run back if she knew that her life was in danger? This couldn't be right. I was sitting over her, so I moved back and really looked her in the face. She looked like Anne, the daughter of Alpha Elijah but didn’t behave like Leah. “Who are you?” I asked her still sitting on top of her.
Damian POV“But Alpha Damian, how could you have let this happen to us? An imposter right under our noses and you have been having an affair with her!” One of the council of werewolf members shouted. My blood was hot with anger. They had no right to talk about her in that manner. She had been nothing but kind to them and if she had any ulterior motive, she wouldn't have stayed for as long as she stayed despite knowing the kind of danger she would be in once the truth came out about her real identity. “You have forgotten so easily everything she put in to make us what we are. We owe her some of our wealth because of her intricate designs on the gems that helped us make very good deals with neighboring territories,” I pointed out. “Those gems were stolen.” One spat. “But now, they have been recovered,” I threw at him. I watched Connor from the corner of my eyes. He was silent. He did not utter a word or say anything and it annoyed me so much. They all weren’t seeing things from my
Leah POV My heart was pounding heavily and my eyes were misty and blinded by the tears that were glistening in them. I heard those words from his mouth directly that the imposter must be killed. I had waited all these days for his return so that I could tell him the truth, but I was too late. I used my hands to cover the sobs that threatened to escape my mouth. I had to leave immediately because I knew that if I didn’t, then I would be caught and killed. The wolf criers all began to howl. It was a signal that a general meeting was to be held and every werewolf had to be available and present for the meeting. No one was excluded.“It would be dangerous if I attended the meeting because they would find out about me and have me killed.” I thought. I ran back to my room and packed only a few things. My potions, since the book was stolen, and a few of my clothes. Just two sets, then I packed my hair to a tight up-do and then I sneaked out of the room. While everyone would be busy and
Thomas POV “I have done what needs to be done,” Alpha Elijah said to me, a solemn expression on his face. “It’s all good, your majesty. It’s all for the best. War and death is the only way we can punish such a crime. He wants to usurp your power and you must not turn a blind eye to it,” I said. “Well, that is indeed true, but what now do I do about my daughter?” He asked. That was what worried him the most at the moment. Where his daughter Anne was and what could have happened to her? I could sense it. I also had a plan for that of course. I place my hands on his shoulder, “Do not worry about that now, it is a piece of cake. I promise to help you in this war and also to help return your daughter to you, safe and sound,” I promised him.He looked a bit relieved after my reassurances, but I knew he was definitely not going to sit still and wait for me to return his daughter to him. So I changed tactics. “You don't need to worry too much about anything except your daughter. You can
