The Road To Your Heart

Maya POVOnce out of the supermarket, I start running through the poorly lightened parking lot pushing a very dysfunctional cart. I get to my car, unlock it and start throwing my groceries on the backseats while getting drenched by the hard rain. The weather is supposed to get worst during the next few days. Thank god it's Friday and I'm free this weekend, I plan to spend it sleeping, eating and watching movies. That's why I bought everything I might need and more.I start the car and turn the heater on, my feet are wet and cold, wearing converse on a rainy day is very stupid, should take it off? I debate about it but decide against it when I remember that I'll have to put it back again later. Maya POVI put the last two bags in the back seats then closed the door and leaned on it. I can't get the sight of Eliane sitting in the empty apartment lost in her thoughts out of my mind. I close my eyes and take deep breathes to calm myself, I need to be strong for this.After few minutes I get inside the coffee shop and walk to the counter. I order our smoothies then pull out my phone to check my emails, half way through it I felt eyes on me but I didn't give it much importance until I felt a presence behind me. I turn around abruptly to be greeted by a big buff guy in his mid twenties, blond messy hair and green eyes, his clothes were kind of ragged. He was standing too close to me so I took a step back without breaking eye contact, something about him and the way he was staring at me gave me goosebumps.

Maya POVSince the moment we stepped out of the car, Eliane was as tense as a stick. She was holding my hand the whole time. I could tell when we passed a pack member from the way she squeezed my hand. When we got inside the dinner, It was obvious from the way she looked at the young couple that she longed for her own kind. When they left, I could see her pain.
