I woke up startled by my own alarm, it took me few seconds to remember why I've set it up in the first place. Yeah right, the GED tests, we have a long day today. Eliane was already up, I could hear her rummaging through the kitchen downstairs.
After few minutes of staring into nothing, I dragged my feet to the bathroom to get prepared. After doing my business, I washed my hands and face with the grapefruit soap I bought yesterday then brushed my teeth. I unwrapped the towel on my head and examined my hair. Maya POVI carefully laid down Eliane on the back seat and covered her with my jacket. I moved to the front seat and started the car. Inside my head was like a hurricane, a tornado of mixed emotions and a rainstorm of painful memories.During the ride back I kept remembering every word she said. Deep down I know that she kept to herself way more than she told me. Eliane POVAn annoying sound infiltrated my perfectly peaceful sleep. You know the sensation of floating in a very comfortable position in your sleep and then the sound of the alarm ruining the mood. I sat up blinking while searching for my phone to turn off the alarm.When my hands didn't find it on the nightstand or under my pillow, I looked around the room until I found my bag on the desk. I stood up and dragged my feet toward the bag, It didn't take long to find the phone. I grabbed it and walked to the bathroom.While I was done doing my business, I tried to unlock the phone but the screen remained black. Eliane POVI looked around me not finding the right words to describe how I felt. The decorated area by the oak tree was beautiful and cozy, everything looked magical. I could tell how much time and effort they spent on decorating this place, they did it for me. Maya POVThe whole graduation party thing was a nice gesture toward Eliane, simple and touching at the same time. I knew she'd like it and appreciate this first experience. After all, it has always been just the two of us. What I didn't expect was Eliane's reaction toward them, she was opening up to them and letting her walls down little by little. I don't think she's even aware of it.I watched her relaxed interaction with the kids. She was leaning slightly toward Alex who never left her side.
